Celine Dion - A Career In Numbers (Touring)

Pre 2003: $280,000,000 (7,200,000) - 696 shows * needs working on *

2003: $79,478,151 (584,920) - 143 shows

2004: $77,922,234 (571,370) - 149 shows

2005: $81,398,499 (598,395) - 155 shows

2006: $77,650,216 (572,803) - 147 shows

2007: $70,726,532 (499,935) - 122 shows

2008: $236,600,000 (1,800,705) - 106 shows

2009: $42,600,000 (393,249) - 25 shows

2010: --

2011: $38,008,295 (227,994) - 54 shows

2012: $36,586,444 (231,749) - 52 shows

2013: $61,808,777 (384,741) - 72 shows

2014: $26,112,638 (170,204) - 44 shows

2015: $20,505,903 (125,465) - 30 shows

2016: $84,707,639 (583,596) - 81 shows

2017: $107,957,503 (719,910) - 89 shows

2018: $10,530,363 (63,312) - 16 shows

Total (2003-present): $1,052,593,194 (7,528,348)

Total (incl. pre 2003 est.): $1,332,593,194 (14,728,348)

First and foremost, what the two total figures show is how much greater the growth in the value of live entertainment has been since 2003 when compared to before that.

The above numbers from 2003 onwards come from a combination of Billboard boxscore data and Pollstar year-end data - due to how numbers are reported, it won't tally exactly on an annual basis (for e.g. her New Years performances in Vegas each year were usually reported in the next calendar year and as part of a bigger boxscore - so they belong to the next year in my list above but it adds up overall or per tour).

The numbers include her more obscure shows or shows that weren't reported on specifically - for e.g. the concert in Jamaica in 2012 & the two concerts in Trois Rivieres in 2013. (for these, I've relied on Pollstar year-end figures less the reported dates or media - for Jamaica, that figure is $2.2 million for a 20,000 audience and for Trois Rivieres that figure is $1.7 million for an 18,000 audience).

Now, we have 22 concerts that are due to be reported on from her Asia and Oceania tour that is about to conclude - that will likely pull in somewhere in the region of $45 million. She then has a further 24 dates in Vegas up until early Jan 2019 which should gross in the region of $700,000 per show - all of this should take her to around $1.4 billion career touring gross.

In a business that is notoriously dominated by male soloists and rock bands, she and Madonna stand with the giants of the industry as the only two female artists to have grossed in excess of $1 billion from live entertainment (though Beyoncé is very close to joining them both - and she is most welcome, as long as she stops there.) .

Id say she would make more than $45 mill this tour tho. A huge show in Tokyo dome not to mention the EXTORTIONATE prices in Asia

Making fun of herself from the letter speech......... so good!

Yesterday she was on fire! All the speeches were funny and she was in great mood. My cheeks were hurting from smiling and laughing  And the crowd was one of the best. They sang with her, they danced with her and ofc they sure laughed! Especially that one guy who was sitting close to the person recording, at some point i was just laughing with him! He definitely enjoyed the show :P

I pegged each Australian date at $1.7 million, the three New Zealand dates at around $5 million - around $17.4 million in total.

I estimate the Tokyo Dome date will do between $6-$7 million leaving around $20.6 million for the remaining 11 dates (around $1.8 million per date).

I've based this off similar venues in the UK, which obviously had a weak pound last time she toured there in 2017 - hopefully a stronger Australian currency results in higher Aus grosses.

Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?

Sorry if I missed something but...am I the only one who’s breathless after having seen today’s performance of TT? I mean...Céline was absolutely on fire vocally the WHOLE song 😱🎉

Have they been sent back to 1995 in Auckland? 😍

Maybe (hopefully!) she realized that this social media stuff matters, and should just be treated as an afterthought, after RC got himself to the top of Canadian Soundcloud charts purely on the back of some IG and Twitter posts.

I’m feeling so bummed at the thought of this tour coming to an end, even though it’s been much more quieter on here during the shows than I would expect, although probably due in part to the vast time difference and the lack of live streaming this tour, but I’m so gonna miss our daily posts and updates from Celine as I fear we’ll pretty much hear nothing from her now until the autumn/fall when Vegas kicks off again.

I think she’ll need a long break and she so deserves one, but it’s such a come down after a tour cos we get so spoiled with updates etc during it.

I just hope they give us some kind of update on the album soon but fear we’ll need to wait until next year for it now, as I’m almost certain we would know already if it was coming before the end of this year. I do hope I’m wrong!!

By the way, for 2013, they forgot to mention, the concert in Montréal (Une seule fois; 40.000 people, and around 5 Million Dollars gross), what do you think? :)

Is this the shortest tour of her entire career?

While looking back at old tours. I think about how we have so little of 1990-1993 in video.

Just a few weeks ago some footage from something during unison tour surfaced in which a few seconds of "if we could start over" was shown being performed. Nobody seemed to have any knowledge prior!!

We have a setlist for celine dion tour...but aside from one performance of lcmm, a bootleg of nbbmh and DYGEL...that's it for that tour....supposedly sorry seems to be the hardest word was sang...cant help falling in love was an encore she had polished up to perfection long before the disney dvd special....natural woman was a cover she attempted before FIY....Who knows how reliable the setlist is considering we have next to nothing..for all we know she sang show some emotion a couple shows and dropped it. If you could see me now. If i were you......and man I'm thankful she sang with this tear on the tonight show at least.

A clip of dmqs, a full performance of tpol, a short clip of misled and unison...thats about it for tcoml..besides the French cd.

Just goes to show while we *CENSORED* and moan about the last 3 tours with no official releases we had a similar situation toward the beginning.
