I brought that up to show how entertaining that performance was. Not the behind the scenes of the performance.

 

It has something to do with the arrangements as well. This version is better more energetic than the new one. For me.

I remember years ago that thread on the 2008 cbs special. Reading thru it there was a lot of disappointment. Between that, audience with uk special....and lipping the world music awards honorary performance those 3 things were all bummers.

Anyone notice that during the first chorus, especially the lyrics "and when I pray to gid, all i ask is" the audience clapped? Only the New Zealand audience did it. Is there a reason? Am i missing something?

I must say finally a live version of To love you more. Never thought I would hear a live version of this song besides the Juno awards recording. I think she sound perfectly ok. But can't stop thinking why couldn't she sing it when she was more in her "prime" so to speak. How great would it have sound then. Usually it takes a few performances to really nail "the one" performance. At least how I see it.

 

Forgot there is a Rosie O Donnell performance also. But that and Juno is the only two live performances until now. Or is there some I missed?

Maybe it was Rene who call the shots whether she will lipped this song or not. And rene knows what note she’s weak so they do something about it (i remember i heard it in the interview or documentary).

Well normally with Celine, she will test run the song a couple of times and if she feels uncomfortable with it she wont do it live. Its mostly a perfection thing with Celine which is why she always makes sure she sounds great and you can see it on her face when shes angry at herself. Its mostly any note or song shes not 100% with, she will lip it

I am also someone who attended that taping - and I've gotta say, I had a blast. I go into each Celine situation and take it for what is is. I simply enjoy seeing her. Each experience is different and has a fun and unique memory to create if you're open to it. I don't believe things ever need to be over analyzed to death. Perhaps I'm a weirdo, but I truly enjoy goof ups and retakes. This is just the way TV tapings work - it's not a normal concert at all and one should never expect that. The screw ups are my favorite part of these types of events. All the random chatting that goes on in between takes is fun and different as well.

I loooooove screw ups!! I experienced that twice during A New Day. And also when she messed up the lyrics to You're The Voice in Australia, loved it haha.

 

But yeah that's how TV tapings work, they want it all perfect. I've been to a few TV tapings in my country and they take forever because stuff needs to be fixed all the time.

Oh god yes! The An Audience With was a massive letdown. Been wanting her to do it for years and was so disappointed. The only good bits were the talking bits. Still remember the very beginning with RDMH and the face Shane Ritchie pulled. He said after he’d travelled ages etc to see her and there she was miming. I felt quite embarrassed actually. The An Audience With are more often than not live vocals 😢

So it's 7am in NZ so it's already the last day of tour for Céline and the crew Only 15-16 hours more and it's all over.

 

Then withdrawal begins. Feels like deja vu from last year in August.

 

August is becoming a sad month annually haha

ok that's a bit irrelevant and old, i'm sorry, but it has stuck in my head for days now and i can't seem to find it. At some point someone here said that Celine asked for her cell phone after a song (maybe PQTME) to take a picture of the crowd because people had turned on their lights and she was so touched. Maybe it was the 2nd Macao concert..i can't find the post nor a clip of this. Does anyone remember this or even better has a video?
