Im miserable. Wow thats great, ill add that to my CV thanks. Lets all agree that being miserable is a form of free spech, hilarious giving that im not miserable. If i was miserable i would be saying that shes shot and her voice is garbage, saying one run out of a huge show is getting worse (which it is) is miserable ?? Okay. Google it, check the definition and come back before you try it.

 

Lets compare shall we ?

 

Heres a performance in Manila on the 19th of July when the song was fairly new ;

The run is well executed and clean, a little rasp but completely bearable and still has clarity and power. A little rasp is to be expected at such a high note for a 50 year old.

 

 

Now heres one from around mid way in Sydney :

The run is still good, slightly more unstable on the peak note and the rasp is more prevelant but not at a bad stage yet

 

 

Now, Tonights show :

 

 

At 4:15 she has difficulty starting the run and difficulty with the agility between notes and the top note has become so unstable that its just merged into one raspy mess rather than seperated as shown in other performances where she hit the note a few times before descending down the scale.

 

 

The quality is degrading and to say otherwise is just blatant ignorance. However shes managed to keep the long note well executed until recently too, at 4:30 the jump up has resulted in an unsupported Eb5 thats also unstable and she even cracks twice.

 

Miserable, no.

 

Observational and honest. Yes.

 

And before anyone comes for me, this is the only fault in any vocal moment of the show. All the other upper belts in RDMH,LCMM,PR,TT are all fine. This one isnt however and if shes finding it that difficult and not doing so well, swap it

the sound is not as good in the Melbourne video, so it is hard to compare. I think saying it was scatchy is a little severe. Maybe not as good , but not week and raspy and screechy. She sniffles a bit, maybe she has a cold. And if you want to analyse everything, the high point of Love in Manilla was flat. Perfection is something to aim for but rarely achieve.

He also called me idiot in the past, just for saying Celine looked younger in some pics because a certain look suited her much better instead of others who made her look older. Sin! Yeah, his range of flattering words is very splendid lol

Little O/T, but just read this article about the effort to organise Shania Twain's very first show in Brazil (as part of the Barretos Rodeo Festival) and they say it's "another world to them".

 

Coming back to why there hasn't been shows in South America yet (with possible reasons like money, security, health issues mentioned), I think we can add "(a certain method of) production" to that list too...

But its very different situation, its not a arena or theatre in big cities like Rio or São Paulo. Shania is going to sing in a country music festival that happens every year in a small city which I think its very weird to me that shes going to sing in a so "cheap" festival. Mariah once sang there, which people here ridiculed her because its not for famous divas like her. Celine would never sing in a place like this.

And there is no problem with security for famous people like Celine. Who suffer because of security is poor people, not rich one. And there is no disease like many European and North American people think, here is not a jungle, there are many metropolis. São Paulo city has more than 12 millions people, Rio has more than 6 millions, both are only a exemple cities that Celine could perform.

Celine never came here (and probably never will) because of money, shes very expensive, producers probably think people will not be able to pay so much money and I think Celine would come here like a whole package with others latin countries like Argentina and Chile, like a tour shes used to, so its a combination with many countries, many shows to deliver about 20 concerts in Latin America. Is she able to sell so much concerts here? Maybe, but producers together has to put efforts to make it happen.

About 2 years ago a friend of mine talked to Patrick in Las Vegas (I was there and I saw it), he said that 2018 was free (till then) and we only had to find a producer who pay Celine to come. So its money, nothing more than it!

 

Ps: I read the article about Shania and there is nothing talking about disease/health issues.

Yes money has to do a lot with it, but I believe there's also more to it.. I just hope for you that she'll perform there one day.
