LOL I am still laughing. First because of Pepe, can you imagine how cool, he is in an uber, and suddenly the 'boss' is on ! I think the driver doesn't know who he is. I for one would be totally losing it, can you imagine Celine playing and Pepe behind me !

I had a similar experience today - went to the Thierry Mugler exhibit at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and the moment I walked in, almost right on cue, Where Does my Heart Beat Now started playing!

Turns out it was part of a montage of various musicians wearing his designs - they had the clip of Celine at the Adisq (the year she declined that award) and a clip from her WDMHBN performance on Leno - apparently that was a Mugler outfit.

 

Great exhibit by the way - they have a lot of his runway clothes, theatre pieces, and iconic celeb outfits (worn by Bowie, Gaga, Beyonce, etc. etc.)

 

So judging by this Insta, seems Pepe, too, went to check out this Mugler exhibit.

He's getting a pretty good taste of what it's like in Montreal - Celine in Ubers, Celine at museums, Celine on magazine covers, Celine everywhere.

Interestingly, only the second source (who denies the story) is described as 'close to her'. The 'multiple sources' aren't described as such. Meaning, they could've just based the article on the people posting in this thread 😂

And it's true that he and Sydney and Dee seem to be the only people constantly around her these days, so I can see how others would be frustrated. She never hung out with her band or backup musicians like this. And Dave Platel is nowhere to be seen, seemingly.

 

But of course, we only see a sliver of what goes on behind the scenes, and the fashion shows are the most visible and receive the most press coverage, so clearly the "glam squad" would be there and seemingly omnipresent.

 

The big question I have, is will she, or won't she sing Ziggy at this next tour? Or a little too close to home now? 😜

Have to admit I had the same thought about Ziggy.

 

And, yes, we don't know what goes on behind the scenes, and we're only getting a small glimpse of the whole picture, but it's reached the point that I cringe a bit every time I see him hovering behind her in photos. Nearly out of the blue he's become her stylist, choreographer, trainer, graphic designer, etc. Will he be taking over for Scott next because he knows how to play chopsticks on the piano?

This is true, we see him as part of the public facing part of her team and around and about. But actually we don't know who she sees behind the scenes or what she is doing. We don't even know how much she actually sees of Pepe in reality.

 

It is true that he probably does have too much influence. I thought it was quite interesting though when she was in Paris a few weeks ago. Now she has set the tabloids straight it felt like there was far less interest in him. He was a lot more in the background where he belongs.

That article is a joke. One close source that actually corroborates what Celine has said in the past (maybe they're using her as her own close source? lol), and two that sound exactly like some of the members on here.

 

Pepe is one of her two stylists, and dance partner. Her trainer is a Naomi, who danced for her during A New Day (who she included in her entourage during Summer Fashion Week apparently). Maybe she didn't hang out much with her band members before because she was always with Rene, or she's just gotten close to them. It happens a lot that you can be friends with many people but there's only a few that become your close knit group. For Celine it's her glam squad, particularly Pepe. And does it matter if they're using his art for one of the singles or the album?

 

As long as he doesn't do something that damages her wellbeing or career then who cares? It's no worse than Rene managing everything in her career. Rene was Celine's partner in everything, Pepe is her bff and works FOR her and they've made that pretty clear with the whole "BOSS" joke.

 

As others have said, we don't know everything going on bts. She says she works with her team and if she's decided to include Pepe in her creative team then he must be bringing something she likes to the table. Likely it's fashion or art related.

You're right. There is nothing she needs to address here at all. If there was something about Pepe to address she did so earlier in the year. I think she made the situation pretty clear.

 

If the tabloids want to continue the storey by putting a slightly different spin on in then that is really boring, but sadly that is how they work.

I don't know, I'm in two minds about it. On the one hand, it's great to see her get so much press lately, and mostly very positive. On the other, so much of it has been riddled with (easily fact-checked) inaccuracies. But that's what you get when you fire seasoned, professional journalists and replace them with freelance interns (which has been a theme across the industry).
