Can't wait to hear it, if the movie is huge the song could get a Best Song Oscar nomination - although Celine wouldn't receive an Oscar but she would sing on the telecast next year!

Well as the song is the new theme of the movie, I guess it should get some exposure at some point.

If Sony is not so good in promoting Celine any longer, I trust Disney to be better in marketing

In the original, it was the same- Belle certainly didn't have anything French about her

 

Maybe it's just odd to me because I'm American lol. Even in Disney's "Hunchback of Notre Dame" they have no foreign accent to me while taking place in France. But I guess I always just imagined the dialogue being like a translation, and it wasn't odd to me because to me there was no accent all while taking place in France. So maybe it's just weird to me that it's a story that takes place on the French countryside, and Belle sounds like she just stepped out of the tardis from Doctor Who.

I think a story that's set in France should either be in French or language/accent shouldn't be an issue altogether. Those ridiculous Frenglish accents are painful to listen to, so I for one am very glad Emma isn't doing one. I really hope to see pics of her and Céline together at the premier btw

"Céline's song is OK. Nothing special. It's over the ending credits. I didn't care much for it."

 

He then told me the movie is so magical, almost like the ultimately perfect Disney movie.

And the original was really boring so my expectations are low even if it's Céline. It will certainly be better but to the point of being a good song, i doubt it....

Céline fans always have to wait for the song.. No teaser... you have to wait..

There are many Celine songs that I felt meh about the first time I heard them but after several listens they totally grew on me. Let's hear it first before jumping to conclusions.

So one person saying it's ok, doesn't say much.

 

It might actually be fantastic since that person isn't a big big big fan like we are. But we are also the harshest critics

Well it does not surprise since the snippets we heard on youtube without Celine were okayish..not amazing balladquality. Still interested though and hope it is better than recovering

That's what I'm secretly hoping for.

 

Oh I'd say there's pretty much zero chance of that. 1) They barely even play the nominated songs these days (I think last year they only showcased 3 of the 5 if I'm not mistaken?), 2) Why would they put on something from an unreleased film that is eligible next year, and 3) hasn't Celine said in some handbag interview thingy that she'll be watching from home?

 

Sure, we might care a hole lot, but I'm pretty sure the Academy has other things on its mind at the moment than the upcoming release of another Disney remake! Excited as some may be about it, I suspect it's merely a blip on the Oscar radar.

 

Plus it's already a ~4hr show and somehow getting longer every year. They're not going to include any more performances than they have to, especially since given all the deaths last year, the In Memoriam segment is gonna add, like, and extra hour to the thing!
