I like the use of the summer tour lights but I can't believe they introduced such pathetic new visuals on the screen for TSMGO. I know I have a thing about that screen- but really- more flashing lights? On a screen? In the middle of all the other flashing lights? So boring. It makes me so mad.

I actually like the flashing lights. It was the same as she had on the summer tour screen. I personally think it's adding to the epic ness of the song. It's an amazing show closer!

YES!!! I soooo dislike those songs, but Celine seems to love them for some reason. Ugh! Get rid of them and do some fresh music.

i quite liked it.. it fits the song, idk what else could be added.. but i loved this lightning

Hahaha yep, they can make a movie called Jungle Book, but her visuals look like they were made 25 years ago...

at 9:21 hear her talking about those chewed to exhaustion old tracks - she says :"she can't do a tour without these tracks, because the fans want it" It is about time they find out who the fans are. Are they some regular people who just know those tracks and don't have all of her albums, like we have, or we the fans - and if that is the case - no Celine - we are done with these songs. Seems like you are done with them too.. please please please skip them and do sing what you want to sing! Not what some bunch of regular (Vegas) fans want you to sing everytime over and over and over and over again!

I take for example Madonna. She knows which tracks the fans want to hear. But does she give them those everytime? No she takes her own decisions, and some songs might come back, but always in a reinvented version to make it connect with the rest of the setlist. But if Madonna would do that each time, her concerts would be boring. Everytime those same songs. It is not needed for Celine to bring only those songs all the time. We have had TPOL, IACBTMN, ABM, BYLM, RDMH, LCMM - and we heard them each concert, year after year after year. Mostly in the same shortened lipped versions and esspecially LCMM has moved its mountains way too long. It is getting a boring and Celine only improvises on it and it gets worse and worse and worse. So.. skip them please Celine. Enough other great songs.

Bring Think Twice back, bring A new day has come in the radio-edit back, full version of That's the way it is, heck bring Tell him on stage with Barbra on a screen or hologram, ...If she wants to do a third run in Vegas, okay, but then please shake up that list. Take away the lipped songs and you don;t have to sing All by myself anymore for that circusact of the high note. The lyrics are so not appropiate for your situation anymore. You don'thave to scream that you are all by yourself, because you have your family and us. So please put that song in a drawer and let it stay there.

Huge shame that Unison isn't in the show and that Think Twice hasn't made a return to her repertoire since the UK leg of the TCWT.

She should do what she did for the french tour : sit down with scott price and listen to her english album. She will rediscover and fall in love with some forgotten songs for sure !!! Its the first step to refresh the setlist and do a new vegas show!

There's many ways she could refresh the show's setlist, but my feeling is that she was very used to the way René handled her repertoire for live shows that now she's slowly becoming more in charge of it. The Summer Tour was the perfect example of that emancipation as an artist that started twenty years ago when she decided to re-record the song Falling Into You with new arrangements.

 

I think she wants to keep the (boring) essence of her current Vegas show to have a confort zone. Don't forget she'll go on tour again next year and will hopefully surprise the fans again with some obscure material, this time in English. She likes stability, so it wouldn't surprise me that she wants to keep the Vegas show as stable and regular as posible.

 

Just my opinion.

You need to understand that with "the fans want to hear them" they not talk about us.

They talk about the people who would see her just 1 time, and are not on any forum.

And only have LTAL,FIY,TCOML, in their collection.

Those fans want to hear the hits.

 

We fans, because we see and hear her almost every day, want something different ;-) that's the difference. I think her team is smart enough to know what type of fans we are.

She re-recorded "Falling Into You"? But the arrangement on the album is the same as the original by Marie Claire D'Ubaldo...

First 5 is wonderful opening, and I know about lipsync, but for me it's not important. I LOVE that's songs!!! Set list is best right now!!!

We wanted immortality, TTWII, ANDHC, IA we have received it. We have Show must go on and Purple Rain. What has the discontent again begun? Show is boring bla bla . Enjoy the show! Also we will tell Celine thanks that it still on stage and gives us the energy and love!!! I LOVE CELINE!!!

Yes many hits arent performing. And I would replace the jazz section with Think twice, TCOML, Kiss on Unison or DOL. You right! But to say that boring we not have to! Forgive for emotions!

Which is why I never buy behind-the-scenes stories. We are led to believe Celine took the song from point A to point B, but truth is FIY has same arrangement as the original.

I agree with this. And there is another category in which I belong: I am a huge fan but I want her big hits in her shows. Even songs I rarely listen to like TPOL or BYLM.

 

The idea of seeing Celine perform live the songs that shaped her career and made her who she is today gives me chills!

I agree! These songs have to be a part of the show, but I would rather she did them differently... maybe bring back the version of IACBTMN that she sang back in '96 when she was promoting the song. Just piano and background vocals. Or how about an acoustic medley with BYLM, WDMHBN, and BATB? Then, the casual fans will be happy and I think the fans on here would be as well.

 

How about we swap out TTWII for LCMM in the acoustic medley? LCMM and RDMH might actually sound cool and fresh with an acoustic arrangement. Add the full orchestra version of TTWII...

 

Open the show with TPOL but with JUST piano and no orchestra...

 

There's a way to include her old material and still keep it interesting...

I don't have a strong opinion about those hits being performed or not.

I don't listen or watch the bootlegs from those songs. It's lipped so why bother.

 

BUT when I am at her show, and the intro starts IACBTMN I go crazy! I love it, love the reaction from the crowd and somehow it still can give me chills.

 

Do I wish that she performs that song live? YES

Do I wish that she does an acoustic, or orchestral version? YES

 

Do I want them out of the show? If they intend to use the same way all these years than yes.

 

But I still love them when she performs them in front of me, knowing it is lipped, and she is bored to sing them, but damn I love them! :wub:

This is probably because we love her so much that sometimes our ego took us far that we always wanted her to do what we want...
