I have a crazy idea that they made a playback for the last part of All By Myself (after the Eb5). First of all, they used a shorter version today. The Eb5 sounded a bit different than always. Also she was holding her mic close to her mouth constantly whish showed she wasn't sure when to start "singing". Last but not least, the last Eb5 sounded too perfect considering her current vocal state.

I think they have prepared all those new playbacks for the 1000th show to make sure everything goes flawlessly. What if they decide to stream it (I know what I ask is impossible, but who knows anyway) on the Internet?...

 

Well, the new pre-recorded vocals sounds great also in the my heart will go on unlike before it sounded like a robot auto tuned. Maybe they'll need a new one for Power of Love and It's all coming back to me now (longer version with ending)

I'm excited about this, because the current Vegas show lacks a vision. I'm not afraid it will be Cirque Du Soleil/AND again. I'm sure Gilles Ste-Croix has more ideas than just that. I love what he said about Celine: “I eagerly accepted Aldo’s invitation to take on this exciting challenge. It is an honour for me to work with Céline Dion, a unique artist with an exceptional voice and unlimited potential,” :wub2:

 

IMO she should wrap up this show this year and then stay away for a year or even 6 months and then come back with a complete new show! New songs, new build up, new backdrops, new energy! It's been 5,5 years since the premiere in 2011. Sure there were many changes, but it was only cut and paste, which didn't do the show any good.

Very disappointed!

All this fake pre-recorded tracks, all at once: she should stop singing these songs, changing the key or whatever. Come on now we have I surrender, wdmhbn, bylm, tpol, Iacbtmn, all by myself, tsmgo, and mhwgo lipped, massively! Ok it's her job to entertain people, but does she enjoy singing that bad and lipping so much? :/

I would have preferred a shorter summer tour and a short serie of residency concerts, like 3 or 4 picking with the 1000th, and at the same time a nice and LIVE promotion for her french album. She is overbusy with repetitive boring concerts and the same (even more lipped) old songs, struggling and letting down. I'd really love her to stop and quit vegas for a while, take her time to do same promotion and taking some rest, recording a new fresh English albums (without silly love songs as for the last 1037201937 English albums of hers) and coming back on stage with the release of the new single and short tours (less than 40 shows per year, so that she keeps her damn stability) around the world, not being stuck in a city lipping and letting down her real fans.

The MHWGO ones are the same. They are only used in the last chorus though, the rest is live. To me they still sound very unnatural, especially the D5s.

You're right! It's the 2011 pre recorded vocals. For me, the best pre recorded was in A New Day

Britney Spears, JL, don't sing a single live note (maybe JL a bit), people know it and they still pay to see them. For all I care Celine can lip half of the Vegas show (people won't even notice) if that means resting her voice. She just finished a tour where 95% was live so if you are reading this Celine lip all you want until your next tour, you have nothing to prove. Edited by manu23

Yes I'm excited about this also. To me it means she/they are still interested. Maybe changing the sets will lead to her wanting to change the setlist. I know some fans want the dancers back but I never really enjoyed them. :)

The adlibs is horrible... it sounded weird... she did it to let people think the next belting is Live...

Hahaa so weird to see the stage got elevated that way... its like they open up the stage so that somebody will come out... haha

I'm a little nervous and excited to see what they do to the show! She's under contract, so she can't just take off for a year. They'll either make the changes slowly or during one of her short breaks.

 

I think what I liked least about the AND premiere was not the theatrics, rather it was Celine's personal styling. (Remember the across the face make-up and YSL sequin cape at the press conference?) I know she and her team have had 13 years to develop since then - so I'm sure we can expect great things.

 

But it still makes me nervous...

 

Edit: Gilles is retired and seems to have been hired on as a consultant, so maybe he will simply be working on adding to the current show, not creating something brand new.

 

As others have said, her show has been lacking a theme in this iteration (I mean, the theme was movie songs, then it was supposed to just be Celine, but she sings all these tributes....)

I think this time the "the lip-issue" is not the main thing, but the state of her voice is. Which is very worrying.

 

We already had weak performances, missed notes etc... but now , that's a complete run that ends up without a single live belt. And the newly playback adds prove she can"t do it. Don't get me wrong , I'm not bashing her, I'm really worried for her.

 

I think another thing is weird: in the past, we had far better performances followed by 10 pages of negative comments and now that she is really "in trouble" , nobody talks about it. :mellow: :hmm: :unsure:

Her tone is healthy, her beltings not...she just needs rest. That's all.

I have a different explanation. She sings TSMGO right after MHWGO which features a waterfall. Here's what happens in my view:

1. While Celine is performing everything before MHWGO the stage is in "usual mode", just plain surface and nothing else.

2. Then, when the lights are fully dimmed and they play the acapella intro to MHWGO the stage changes to a "waterfall mode". It means that around the centre of the stage (where Celine's elevating platform is) a transformation happens allowing the stage to actually guide the falling water where it has to be - to the underneath.

3. After this she finishes and the stage is returned to the "normal mode". This transformation can be seen in the videos of TSMGO from the tonight's show.

That's just my theory of course, but to me it sounds quite sensible :-)

Someone from the audience told me that the ending note of all by myself now is Lipsync as well.. Idk im not sure, but i think she was looking at the technical peop no?

i think it's lipped. And so are the phrases after the big Eb5. Everything she did after the big note was so exaggerated

She is so good at Lipsync im confused.. But i guess she does not have this powerful voice now.. So.. Is the concert a "new" AND? Its all Lipsync... Or its this way coz of her voice now and is gonna come back to live next year?

Just when I think they bring this guy in to revive the Vegas show.... They bring him in for a musical?? Seriously?

 

They need to sort other things out in Her career! I hope he is goi g to do more than this musical

I'm sure that her team and Celine herself decided to put some new playbacks to the show in order to have a perfect 1000th show. Maybe there's going to be a lot of media and the coverage will be massive. She definitely won't be pleased if something goes wrong. I hope she resumes singing this stuff live in the beginning of 2017

Oh yes that's true. They have to take the waterfall drain part back down into the stage. didn't think about that!
