I love the new opening, wonderful.

I think it's so sad that you can't hear anyone singing with her. She sounds so pleading when asking. :cry:

Well despite the additional lipping and removal of SOTR, I'm looking forward to seeing the show on Fri and Sat. Can't wait to hear "Recovering" live and the new interlude pre-TSMGO.

 

Still holding out hope that she'll add something different to the 1000th show, but as long as she has fun and the energy is there from the crowd, I'll be happy. :)

 

Also, it's been a sh*t week at work so I'm looking forward to sitting poolside at Caesars for the weekend with a Piña Colada and some retail therapy at the Forum Shoppes. Haha.

omg. I hope she says no the musical...

 

It's been 20 years she tells her story ... who cares?

A musical is for those whose career is done... or dead artists.

 

Plus what a frustration it would be to hear new arrangements for a musical while she will be doing the same over and over.

 

What a idea ! They better pay a current producer to have a hit.

Besides, who doesn't know her story by now, or the general lines of it at least? What's going to tell, that she's the younguest of 14 brothers and sisters and that she's the singer of Titanic? What's the point...?

The new intro is just delicious.

 

I have a different explanation. She sings TSMGO right after MHWGO which features a waterfall. Here's what happens in my view:

1. While Celine is performing everything before MHWGO the stage is in "usual mode", just plain surface and nothing else.

2. Then, when the lights are fully dimmed and they play the acapella intro to MHWGO the stage changes to a "waterfall mode". It means that around the centre of the stage (where Celine's elevating platform is) a transformation happens allowing the stage to actually guide the falling water where it has to be - to the underneath.

3. After this she finishes and the stage is returned to the "normal mode". This transformation can be seen in the videos of TSMGO from the tonight's show.

That's just my theory of course, but to me it sounds quite sensible :-)

in Accès illimité, she said that they removed the stairs because one time at least someone climbed on the stage, an they stopped going the imkmortality walk because people were climbing on her dress, her feet, blocking her the way, it was just too much.

She seemed quite annoyed when telling the story about how people would mob her during the song. It's best they cut the walk.

Somehow I think this won't happen, if they still need to convince her to give the green light.

I rather see them focus on a special concertseries... in Paris and NYC :wub:

Celine has made it clear that Broadway isn't her thing. In my opinion, it's kind of a random and strange concept. It's hard to recreate Celine's life with actors. It just ends up looking tacky. In my opinion, Celine's life can't be recreated by anyone, because it is to special and to unique to capture in a musical or movie. I would rather her team focus on things that Celine herself can benefit from and be excited about. :)

Apparently the new artistic adviser who has been hired for Celine (Gilles Ste-Croix) is working on a musical about Celine's life... Who will play Celine??? ;)

And..hello..Celine in still alive..it is a bit of overkill to already make a musical of her life now. And imagine how milked out her old songs are and now they will be even more associated with her. Because you loved me..tpol..enough is enough!

Do you really think Celine and team would risk damaging her voice? She has great doctors, and have always cancelled shows on doctors requests.

As Dame Julie Andrews, she had vocal surgery where they did something against her permission and therefore damaged her voice permanently.

I found your post ridiculous. Completely different situations.

Sadly Diane doesn't write as many great songs anymore. Nice she's written for Celine again though.

Hoping she's recording after she's had a break though. The French album vocals were great so really want the english one to match!

Nah I don't want a musical either. Maybe 30 years from now 😂

If they were to do anything I'd rather they did a biopic. An accurate one so I can get that " Celine" film permanently erased from my head. The young celine part was good but the older celine etc was awful. But not going to go into that.

Celine say no to the musical and concentrate on your shows and albums 😊

It's not bad, but not amazing great either.

So I hope this song will be the Dianne Warren as we know her songs.

Lol Celine is wearing a huge cat necklace, if anyone follows Diane you know she is crazy about her cat. :-D :giggle:

 

All I can say is that I hope Diane has the courage to correct her pronunciation because with 'Unfinished Songs' the way she says 'story' drives me batty!

well, the song you skip on the album is that new mix, which I never liked. The normal version was so much better in my opinion but it never came on the cd...

The stage before was so huge and beautiful. Since celine's show is going to have a new one (maybe A New Day Part 2) maybe they'll bring back the big raked stage like before? Because the current stage looks so limited it's a bit small

A $100,000 donation was presented to Celine Dion on Tuesday night in celebration of the milestone the music icon will reach Saturday night when she performs her 1,000th show in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace — the same year Caesars Palace celebrates its 50th anniversary.

Execs with AEG and Caesars Entertainment, partners behind her Las Vegas residency shows at The Colosseum since 2003, made the $100,000 donation to the superstar singer for the Azar/Angelil Oncology Research Fund, which was set up when Celine’s husband and manager, Rene Angelil, and her brother, Daniel Dion, died from cancer complications within days of each other in January.

Our exclusive and candid interview with Celine will be published in Friday Neon of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and at 2 a.m. Friday at our new website RobinLeach.ReviewJournal.com ahead of Saturday’s performance. In the conversation with Celine, she talked about her life now without Rene and revealed her hopes for her personal and professional future.

Celine said that because of high ticket demand for her show, she will add 24 performances from April 4 through June 3. Tickets go on sale Friday, Oct. 14. The new 2017 shows are selected dates from April 4-22 and May 16-June 3.

 

Her previously announced 2016 shows are on sale now from Nov. 1- 26 and Jan. 17-Feb.4. Tickets may be purchased at The Colosseum box office, by calling (866) 320-9763 and online at TheColosseum.com and AXS.com.

On Tuesday, we reported here that Cirque du Soleil co-founder Gilles Ste-Croix is exiting retirement to be Celine’s new artistic developmentadvisor. I can now report that one of the first projects he will tackle will be French- and English-language versions of her life story as a musical for Broadway and Paris and Montreal stages.

Gilles said that Celine will not appear in the musical. He said that the concept of the dual-language musicals was part of Rene’s wishes and planning before his death from throat and brain cancer.
