I think she’s looking fantastic, like she is definitely taking care of herself. Her upper arms had lost muscle tone in recent years, which wasn’t overly flattering in her beautiful sleeveless gowns, especially after Rene. I could tell she didn’t really work out as she had always implied but she so definitely is now!

 

I take it as a positive though that maybe just maybe she’s beginning to be in a better place since Rene’s passing.

Shes not sick because that would affect all of her voice, but her other registers are so strong, just this particular part of her voice is playing up for some reason.

But she is turning into a Diana Ross, a Cher. Singing the same songs for decades.

 

You can say what you want about Madonna, but her setlists are way more creative and fresh each tour. She performs most of her new album, some old songs with new sounds, and some never sang before.

 

And nobody is complaining they haven't heard this or that.

 

It's about the confidence and the attitude in which you bring the songs.

 

Bringing back TTWII is so fresh, but it lacks everything the album version has. If she sang this song like she lipped on Billboard Awards with dancers and all, it would be so much more powerful than this "do we need to sit down or dance song"

 

 

But if we make a list with her most essential, unnegotiable songs in a Celine Dion show, it all cuts down to 4-5 songs:

 

My Heart Will Go On

Because You Loved Me

The Power Of Love

 

And the fourth would be between It's All Coming Back To Me Now and All By Myself.

 

These 4-5 songs are the songs people would definitely expect to hear anywhere they attend a Celine Dion show, be it in USA, Europe or Japan. These 4-5 songs are the songs that she has been forever and ever performed since she released them and on every tour and concert she does. But beyond these only 5 songs, nothing is set on stone on a "must-list" of songs people want to hear her sing.

 

So counting with these 5 songs that she must forever sing on every show, there's another 10-15 more songs to complete a setlist with which she could play, change, alter, include and remove over the years, from the more popular singles to the most rare songs, and the public wouldn't say a word, I'm sure. As long as she performs those songs I mentioned, the audience would be happy even if she were to perform the phone book in between.

 

People go to see her because of her voice and because of who she is, not because they expect a specific setlist of songs to be sung. And let alone the kind of audience that goes to see her in Vegas, who maybe only a 2% each night are die-hard fans, and I'm being generous. Most people in the venue each night are just tourists and casual spectators who don't give a damn about Céline's career, they just go to have some rest after a long day of tourism and shopping and to boast their friends "I saw Celine's show" when they're back from their trip. But 98% of that audience in Vegas won't care a damn if she performed I Know What Love Is and Reveal instead of Immortality and RDMH (as long as they get those 4 classics I mentioned)

Yesterday's show was my last (for now) and she was on fire. Probably the best one of the 3 shows I've seen this week. Her voice sounded great and she seemed more focused than Wednesday and less nervous than Tuesday.

 

And I'm absolutely in love with that beautiful new dress. She looked sooooo gorgeous, I hope she keeps it

On another note Celine did not reniew her contract with Caesars because she is sick of it despite the fact that they offered her a lot more money because other venues started a bidding war to get her. Celine is not just the Queen of Vegas because she has been there so long and still sells out but because she is the only artist there who has fans come in droves from all over the world, and would not be caught dead in Vegas without her and those are fans who have money to spend. That's the bottom line after all. She is bored out of her mind and prefers touring where the energy level is high and something she feeds off of. So she is not retiring.

Finally someone is saying what's been just a well-known secret! This confirms my 15-year activity in this forum and my "ranting/complaining/whining", which after all it was just TRUE .

 

This confirms in every comma the version that Lara Fabian (yes, singer LARA FABIAN) personally told a friend of mine fan of Céline too (not present in this forum), and she exactly told him this version of events, which is what I have believed all this time and I've always been sure of.

 

Please let me repeat the key words. Céline is SICK of Vegas. Céline is BORED OUT OF HER MIND of it.

 

Where are all the naysayers who say it was HER choice, it was HER decision, and that she is happy with it??? I hope their denial and scales fall from their eyes. once and for all.

 

Do you really think an artist would choose to be sick and bored of a situation in her career, if she could avoid it? Céline never totally chose this Vegas adventure, but René. And Céline never chose to be sick to death of performing 1,200 shows, BUT FOR THE PRESSURE OF RENÉ AND CAESARS PALACE and the scandalous money they paid her to be there. But Céline was for the money there. She was to please her husband and with a huge pressure on her shoulders to satisfy other people. Not because it was "her decision" or "her choice". PERIOD!

 

Will you ever learn now? That Céline won't say anything negative because she just will never talk bad/negative about anyone/anything? But you have to read between lines and see it in Celine's eyes during recent interviews, and how she dodged the questions about Vegas in the last interview we got.

 

Céline has never been more imprisoned in that show than today. Probably she realised how many things she's missed for that slave-contract. And probably she realised how sick she is of always pleasing others instead of doing what she really wants.

Now for all the bitching members you can keep living in your own denial and inflate your mouth with the "Vegas wonders" and her "legend status" supposedly achieved in Vegas, but just retain this:

 

1) Vegas was NOT her choice, nor her decision. She DID want to come back in 2002 with a big show and a big production, yes, but NOT in Vegas nor with a show that demanded and forced her to perform more than 200 shows per year! That was all arranged and agreed between René and Caesars to make up for the millionaire expenses after the construction of that venue ressembling the roman colosseum. Whose costs were only increasing and growing beyond what was initially estimated in 2001. She didn't want any of that exhaustion to happen, but she was forced to do it in the end. And in tears (like we saw in the AND DVD)

 

And of course she didn't want to stay there for 15 years. Not even extend the first contract up to 5 years.

 

2) She didn't want to come back in 2010 either, but again René convinced her, and if only, the second residency was done completely for her children and the stability of her children, not for her. And the children were two newborns now with Eddy and Nelson, not one like with RC, so the concern was duplicated now. So again, the 2011 show wasn't her choice. Again, others have already decided for her And she pleased them. Once again.

 

3) If Celine has not been able to finish her residency in Vegas before it's just because of the crazy millionaire compensatory clauses she would have to pay if she quitted Vegas before the stipulated final date, which we all know it is 2019 since the start.

 

She knew all this since 2010, and imagine the pressure she has had there all this time. But it was never her choice, it was René who wanted all this to happen!

 

4) You'll never see this coming from Céline's mouth, because she'll never talk bad of others. But you can see it confirmed now from others and you can see it's been a well-known secret, with all the boredom, lack of passion, extenuation and autopilot mode she exhibits on the stage, show after show, when she is in VEGAS and NOT ON TOUR

Well, I only saw the Vegas show once and that was enough for me, but I'll miss it for the venue. Like someone already said - it's the single best place to see Celine at.

While I've been to many of her shows at various arenas, that simply doesn't come close to a proper theater, especially one built with her in mind.

 

Now, if she instead started doing shows at proper concert halls instead - Carnegie, Royal Albert, etc - that would be magical. But she has that pesky problem of having too big of an audience base for any of those! (Unless, of course, she sets up temp mini-residencies in such places, which would certainly be something I'd welcome, but I can't see it happening because it would be awful for her from a lifestyle perspective, as long as the twins are still little).

Celine looks healthy, sounds healthy and was absolutely stunning. For the first time ever my parents accompanied me the show. They were not Celine fans before, but most certainly are now. They saw Celine for who she truly is an an artist and a person. I have never seen my dad smile so much in his life.

 

I admit I had my concerns prior to last night, but the show was a very good reminder that absolutely nothing can be judged by YouTube videos - including the outfits that I swore were a big mistake. Wrong - in person they are anything but!

 

This woman continues to wow and amaze. ❤️

I hope that Celine doesn’t get sick this final year, I fear with it being her last year that if she has to cancel Caesars will make her make up shows after June 8, and that’s not cool especially for the people who already purchased tickets with those insane prices to attend her “last Vegas show” and general, if she follows the same recipe she has been by there middle of June she could be on tour!

1) As if for having seen her in Vegas you can deny the fact that when she's on tour she's another Céline, wild and happy. A FACT that has been confirmed by both fans who have seen her in Vegas AND while on tour

 

2) As if just because she's smiling and making jokes and fooling around that would mean she's not bored to death of doing what she's doing there. LOOOOL!!! The poor girl, now the last thing she can do is to have fun and play around in a place where she's done since years ago because she's exhausted for obvious reasons!

 

Do you wear your bitter face to work if you had a bad day/situation, or do you get a grip on yourself and put a brave face on it and carry on the best you can?

 

Was she crying on every interview and show in 1992 when she wasn't allowed to show the world she was in love with René and she had to conceal her true feelings everywhere she went for years???

 

She's there to entertain and make the audience forget their problems for a couple of hours, not to show how bored she is to do the same damn thing for 8 years invariably And still she's a privileged person who is able to do "what she wants", so it's not like she's gonna grumble and complain now at this stage of things for what she's doing even if she's sick of doing it.

 

And for this matter, Céline is a very good actress and will tell you and can make you believe what you want to believe. She's not a newbbie in the business dear.

Even if she sick about it, I doubt she sick of it since the beginning. It's just she's at the point where she feel bored and uninspired. Nothing drama about it. Even people who fall in love can be bored sometimes and get to the point where they just want to divorce, it doesn't mean they never in love.

And the absence of Rene could be the reason where she saw no point to continue. And her kids are grown up now.

But hey who am I to say what she feels or what she thinks about it, all I have is an opinion and assumptions. The fact is, it's gonna end soon. No need to complain what's already done, it change nothing.
