I feel extremely sad for Céline. Having to go through a surgery. I don't understand her doctors though for not doing something earlier. She's been sick for waaaaay to long.

maybe the doctor tried everything with least risk, and surgery is the last option.

Remember many complained about cancelling the shows. People are getting angry with Céline. i hope they don't blame Céline for cancelling this show because it's not her fault.

This is life...and life throws us a lot of curveballs. It’s hard, but it happens. I was canceled on in January. I now have tickets for May, but my gut is telling me those will be canceled too. I hope all of these issues don’t force her into an early retirement. I thought this was going to be such a big year for her, but 2018 is proving to be quite difficult thus far. I hope she doesn’t carry all the burden on her own shoulders. She must feel terrible and helpless right now. She has to make such tough decisions for her and her family. I pray she has an amazing support team around her and knows us real fans are behind her always. No matter what. ❤️

OMG!! Poor Celine!! An operation isn't something you'd think lightly about! And she must feel sooooo awful to cancel these shows... especially her birthday one.

It explains why she had to cancel so many shows tho hopefully she'll be 100% cured after this operation.

of course i hope Celine recovers from all of this. I think she should lower the amount of shows in Vegas. Together with these minitours, which i am so glad to have been there, are taking a toll on her. i hope , if she still does the Asiatour, takes a lot of rest, to get healthy and rest her voice and to only work on the album now and then and be there for her family.

 

i sure hope people who were going to see her for her birthdayshows can cancel their plane and hoteltickets! if Celine’s management knows these things early they have to announce it earlier because people fly from all over the world and book expensive hotels in advance. Sometimes refunds are not possible. Hope you guys who were supposed to see her get your money back.

My heart sank when I read this.

I hope she's ok and there are no deeper health concerns at play. She's dealt with enough these last few years... I know how much it must devastate her to disappoint all those fans coming to see her and all the people who rely on her for their income...

At least we had some warning this time around...

 

As for me, I'm gonna try to postpone my trip (it's gonna cost me some fees for sure, but that's the risk you take if you travel to see a live performance). If that doesn't work out, I'll just go and make the best of it with my family. Vegas has enough to offer, but of course I do prefer to combine it with a dose of Céline 😊

I hate to hear of an operation though on vocal cords, does anyone know what operation Julie Andrews was having when she lost her singing voice? its still so sad .....

She’s given so much to Vegas and the Colosseum that she has every right to cancel shows due to health.

 

I’m sure they are incredibly kind and generous to Celine in moments like this. Remember, she is much stronger than we even realize. I learned this all the more when René passed.

 

She will be fine. She’s got her boys and a loving family. And we will all have many more chances to see her perform.

 

This is a reminder to not take her or her voice for granted. Performing at the level she consistently does isn’t easy.

It's crazy to know she has this for the last 18 months.

Never noticed anything, she sounded great. I guess those drops did their work for a long time.

 

I'm wondering why they didn't choose for surgery earlier this year in her month offs?

But I guess they wished and hoped that it will cure itself and get better so they waited last minute or whatever.

Gutted for both Celine and all the fans who had made plans to be there. It's a very significant stretch of shows to cancelling. As we know Celine doesn't do this unless she absolutely has to. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Now that the initial shock has worn off, it got me thinking...

 

She's been looking borderline anorexic ever since the European tour started...

She's always been skinny, but this is different, just doesn't look healthy (head looking bigger in proportion to the body is usually a giveaway).

I'm sure you've all noticed how many comments on social media she's been getting about her weight, mostly from people who don't see her as much as we do.

And guess what a known side-effect of anorexia is?

I know I'm probably gonna be criticized for this and I SO hope I'm wrong...

She wants to be so strong for everybody, but I fear she might not be coping quite as well as she wants us to believe...

They obviously knew about the condition when she was cancelling shows in January, and they continued marketing for these dates anyway. I know that they were hoping for the best, but if it is a prolonged condition CLEARLY action was going to need to be taken sometime, and they should have cancelled the dates preemptively if the condition was that severe.

 

I know it's about making money for them, but I spent $500 on travel that I'll never get back. And in the end, they're losing the money anyway. I don't blame Céline, but this was handled all wrong.

 

I don't know if I should try to reschedule for June and face the reality that they might cancel those shows with short notice too, because it seems like that's how they operate. I also don't know if I should just go to Vegas anyway and try to enjoy myself, or lose some of the money I spent on travel with the hopes of rescheduling if she comes back after June. I really am terrified to reschedule for June, lose the change fee on my airline, and then have her cancel with little to no notice again.

I find it's always been a gamble going to see Celine in March. I had a few shows cancelled about 5 years ago and I've noticed a trend in the month of March. I hope she gets better soon.
