Now that the initial shock has worn off, it got me thinking...

 

She's been looking borderline anorexic ever since the European tour started...

She's always been skinny, but this is different, just doesn't look healthy (head looking bigger in proportion to the body is usually a giveaway).

I'm sure you've all noticed how many comments on social media she's been getting about her weight, mostly from people who don't see her as much as we do.

And guess what a known side-effect of anorexia is?

Autophonia, the exact condition described above...

 

I know I'm probably gonna be criticized for this and I SO hope I'm wrong...

She wants to be so strong for everybody, but I fear she might not be coping quite as well as she wants us to believe...

 

Well, you can be very thin due to stress and fatigue and it not be because you’re actively starving yourself or have a fear of gaining weight. But yes, I read the same things.

I am incredibly sad for those of you who were/are going as I know uite a few people who were sooooooo excited and really couldn't wait. I am so sad for you all. I am incredibly worried about her. I was possibly going to get to see her in May, now it doesn't look like it now. Last time there was a huuuuuuge vocal deal, I was horribly criticized, not on here but on FB actually, for expressing how scared I was. but at the risk of getting that again...I. AM. TERRIFIED. I am so worried. I will NEVER be, but I am so not ready to lose that amazing, gorgeous, indescribeable voice. I never will be, but definitely not now. And now I get to add the fear of her being annorexic to my concerns, I more so hope that's not happening. She loves food, always has, but what if that really is true and she isn't handling things as well as we thought she was? As well as she wants herself and the public to think she is? I am just so so so scared. I quit praying a long time ago, but I will light candles and send her strength, comfort and positive thoughts and love during this time!

It's REALLY hard not having all of the answers to our questions and not being able to have more details of her condition to work with. Absolutely hoping and praying for the best, but I'm very concerned as well. I've been following her career for 24 years and even the slightest thought of not having her actively performing and making new music anymore guts me inside. I can't even imagine what she herself is going through right now. What an emotional roller coaster. For now we all must play the waiting game, which is very difficult. I think it was mirage who said he hopes they will at least pop in and give us an update at some point after the procedure. I hope this is the case as well.

 

Thank God she has those beautiful children in her life. We all know that her music is only secondary to them. Not an easy pill to swallow for us fans, but her personal life, health and mental well being are what matter most.

Celine looks healthy to me.. did you see her legs ?? they would not look like that if she really has anorexia

and that kind healthy issues happens with people who are really far away in their problems like kidney failure and that kind of stuff

I truly believe that the medications were working for the year-and-a-half that she has been dealing with this condition. It's very possible that they just stopped working as soon as this past week and she just found out that she needs surgery which will take some weeks to fully recover from. That's likely all this is. She seemed very thin on the tour of 2017, in the presentations in Vegas too, Céline is thin, more with age she is losing mass, has to take care, not to be ugly, I do not think she is anorexa, there are thin people, I have a friend of mine who is very thin, her family is all thin, it's normal.

 

I hope the surgery is good, that she is well and that this can not affect her in her career.

I do NOT agree with how they are working. She's been sick this long and they should have known a while ago that she would make it to the shows. I'm pissed off.

 

I love Céline and hope she feels better soon. I actually think she should also cancel Asia and stop selling tickets until she knows she can fully dedicate her self to what's ahead.

More significantly in this case I read that it can be caused by stress. That is probably the key here. Her body is physically responding to the stress she has been under. Unfortunately as she is human too that was always inevitable with everything that's happened. I'm sure it will all be fine. She will be treated by the best doctors in the world who will be fully aware of who they are operating on. It sounds like they expect the operation to solve the issue on the basis of her still being scheduled to perform in May.

Ah, this news is horrible.

I truly hope she will get better soon.

 

I could write a long story about health issues and trying to figure out if they do apply on her. But the truth is, I don’t know her personally, and I am not her doctor.

We all think we know her, because she has been in our lives for such a long time (and maybe away for a few years) and because we soak up all the interviews and photos taken of her.

Only her mother really knows who is is, and only René knew that too.

I hope she has some serious good friends around her to give her strength.

 

But I find it really sad that she won’t be giving a show on her birthday.

The redheads were planning such a nice thing, and I would really have wanted to see how that should have looked like and what her reaction would have been.

I find it's always been a gamble going to see Celine in March. I had a few shows cancelled about 5 years ago and I've noticed a trend in the month of March. I hope she gets better soon.

I had noticed certain times of the year had more cancelled shows than others.

Well it’s probably better she cancels these LV shows rather than the tour. Not meaning anything flippant about those who were going to the Vegas shows- it’s awful when it happens obviously. And expensive to go and then have that happen. But at least they’ve done the whole block of shows this time!

As terrible as this is for the fans booked to see her, she does not do these cancellations lightly. I believe she was truly trying to get by without surgery--and who wouldn't? It is a minor surgical procedure. It's not a huge operation.

 

I also believe , as she has always done ,. consulted with the best medical professionals about this and you can guarantee she will have the top ear/nose/throat specialist doing this procedure. I feel confident they would not do it if they didn't think it would work.

 

I also feel the rest will be worth it in the end. When cancellations are legit, fans will forgive. The ones upset at first. She can't help this. And she's not the only one this year to cancel. Adele cancelled two huge shows in England at Wembley Stadium--disappointing some 200,000 fans due to vocal cord damage. Also Lady Gaga just cancelled a dozen or more shows due to ongoing 'chronic pain.'

 

These things happen. Life will go on. She's not anorexic and she's not dead. She'll be back.

Actually, she lost her facial fats since.... after giving birth to the twins 2011 her face changes compared to 2010. She’s thinner. But she’s always thin. She just lost her facial fats that’s why she looks more thin

I'm probably the only one but the part of that statement that broke my heart most was the first bit of her quote, that her luck hasn't been good lately. If you read the statement. Until 4 days ago the various medications were working perfectly and she was doing fine.

It doesn’t actually say how long ago the meds stopped working just says the past couple of weeks.

 

 

During the past couple of weeks these medications have no longer been working to treat the condition, so she will undergo a minimally invasive surgical procedure to correct the problem.

This is VERY true for me it's a different problem actual several but my body has begun building resistance to my meds too so what we're doing now is changing some up and others I don't take as often so that when I do take it the body isn't expecting it therefore it allows it to work properly
