Celine (Las Vegas show) [ends: June 8th, 2019] - Official topic

I simply cannot believe they don't have mechanisms in place to notify people that a show has been cancelled???? Isn't that one of the reasons to outsource ticket sales to Ticketmaster or -in this case- AXS? Isn't it their job to at least send out an e-mail? How hard can that be, even? I'm sure AXS charges less commission fee than Ticketmaster, but at what cost to her brand? Wonder who decides to keep working with them? Caesar's? Or Céline's team?

So easy for people to speculate without the facts. Celine has a really bad throath infection. She's been wanting to push through her illeness and perform because she has an upcoming 2 month break and feels really badly about cancelling. But her doctors are insisting she rest so she doesn't damage her vocal chords. That's why it's been a day by day. She doesn't make the decision to cancel lightly.

I’m absolutely nuts lol. I just bought two tickets for March 30th & March 31st!!!!!! I’m so excited to go back! This means I’ll be there for her bday and she was there for mine!!! So far 2018 has been amazing!

I might be in Vegas at the end of March for a conference, and if so, I will 100% be attending the bday show!

Seems to me she is simply talking about the notification system in case of show cancellation, not speculating on the reason behind it.

don't these ppl realize that if she doesn't cancel that she could do permanent damage to her vocal chords and very sing again, she almost lost it during TCWT, cant remember where, it was

Wasn’t it in Phoenix where she was down to almost nothing? I remember the backstage scene in TTEOTW.

**SHOWS CANCELLED**

We regret to inform you that the performances of Céline at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace scheduled for Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20 have been cancelled. Céline has been suffering for the past week from congestion and irritation of the vocal chords due to a lingering cold, and her physician has instructed her to rest until these symptoms clear up completely.

Céline is expected to resume performances at The Colosseum as scheduled on March 27.

Céline, Caesars Palace, and AEG Presents apologize for any inconvenience this causes ticket holders.

Ticket holders for the cancelled performances should be aware of the following:

TICKET REFUNDS

Credit Cards – Orders purchased with a credit card for the cancelled performance will be refunded to the credit card used for purchase.

Cash - Those who purchased tickets with cash may present tickets at the original point of sale for a refund.

Please note that Céline, The Colosseum, AXS, Caesars Palace, and AEG Presents are not responsible for hotel, travel or other expenses related to the cancellation of this performance.

- Team Céline

Well at least she didn't wait until tomorrow to cancel. Maybe she got the message?

Oh my gosh. I am so baffled, she rarely gets this sick. How many shows has she cancelled now? This is bad. I hope she feels better soon!

I'm glad she's going to get the rest she needs - I'm sure it's the same lingering virus that's going around right now. It can takes weeks to fully clear up. Not to mention she absolutely needs those vocal chords in top shape so she can get this new album finished.

Actually just got an email directly from AXS regarding the cancellation.

I didn't really follow between 2001 - mid'15, and don't remember a similar string of cancellations in recent past. Curious - how did they handle things like this when Rene was around?

If céline is sick they will cancel it for 2-3 weeks.. when rene is still alive

My recollection is that when she got sick, they would cancel weeks of shows.

I feel like céline is stressed handling on her own. Maybe it's time to have a manager to handle this kind of situation?

Yes. It’s necessary.

What's the role of Dave Platel in Céline's Team?

Yes. It’s necessary.

Well, here's hoping it's a learning experience. They're going to be dealing with a lot of disappointed and angry people (what is it, ~30,000?!)
