Frustrating? What’s frustrating is that she keeps being chained to that place after 15 years and that she cannot do other things with her career :ermm: .

 

If only that show she's doing contributed something to her career and showed some evolution through the years, but it's not the case. This new residency adds literally nothing to her career and her legacy. Only the first three years of A New Day were more than enough and then just move on to the next chapter...

 

Why would you say that?? She is still on top and she doesn't need to prove herself. I know fans that travel all over the world to see her current Vegas show! Her current show is fun!! And all of A New Day was amazing!!! No more stupid comments please!!

And would you even go and see it if it were updated? My guess is not.

 

First question I explained it already (and others). Me nor anybody needs to see a show to give an opinion about it. We can have an opinion about it, especially when we have hundreds of videos of it to choose from and watch it from all angles and perspectives. That’s more than enough to have an opinion and judge what you feel like going to see and what is just meh. Period.

 

Second question. Were it updated, full of Celine Dion songs and songs she has never performed before? Probably I would consider it.

Add to that something more to the concept of an orchestra behind her, and I wouldn’t hesitate ;)

You can't compare videos to reality!! They sound completely different!

Maybe because of the deeper meaning of it...

 

The quality level is lowering every year. And yes, even without being there in person you can easily see it since there is A LOT of footage nowadays online.

There's a major difference in Celine's 1 and 2 residency when it comes to quality level. A New Day improved. It's getting painful to see how the show 'Celine' is going lower, changing from where it started and where it is now. And I'm not talking about the concept covers at the start vs more own material today. In general it's getting less and less interesting in every artistic way. ALL the amazing visuals made for the Vegas worthy start are gone. It's a simple show for her to do. And the prices are getting up and more up... let's not even begin with the Live 2018 prices.

 

But hey.. they always been that way.

Rather it was with collectors editions, deluxe version, 678 perfumes... money money money.

I always blamed Rene for it... but in the last two years I find it al lot more ugly than ever before

Having been several times to the Vegas show and her shows on tour I don't often watch youtube videos etc. They are usually not in any way to be a fair representation of what it is like to actually be there. I have seen no evidence, other than her time keeping sometimes of deterioration. In fact the usual negatives people are using on this forum is that it isn't changing. That is mainly coming from people who have been going to the show since 2011. To the general public the show probably seems as good as it did at the start.

 

Really all this complaining is pointless anyway. If people aren't interested in the Vegas show they should just ignore it. Complaining about this and other things like she isn't 'artistic' enough or pushing herself or she's recording her album too slowly, is not going to change anything. We just have to accept and make the most of what she is doing and accept where she is in her life. Posting complaints about the her career on a daily basis is just unhealthy for the person doing the posting. To be so regularly doing this is quite obsessive and can't be doing the individual any good.

I simply cannot believe they don't have mechanisms in place to notify people that a show has been cancelled???? Isn't that one of the reasons to outsource ticket sales to Ticketmaster or -in this case- AXS? Isn't it their job to at least send out an e-mail? How hard can that be, even? I'm sure AXS charges less commission fee than Ticketmaster, but at what cost to her brand? Wonder who decides to keep working with them? Caesar's? Or Céline's team? Edited by Dancing_Queen

THANK YOU. You took the words out of my mouth, and spot-on about the quality thing. I’m surprised nobody here has yet pointed out how tha quality and stabdatds of her shows keep decreasing but yet her prices keep rising :rolleyes:

Believe me I am not rewarding you. I just think for your own sake you need to change the record. Your complaining is fruitless and only self destructive. There are tons of things and threads and positive things I do love about Céline, and a lot... You just have to check my historic post feed ;)

 

Wish I was the only one seeing it this way dear, "Vegas come to an end" and such, but if it's not me one day, there are others saying it anyway and any day...

The visuals in 2011... ooh my!!!

The bond medley the visuals the orchestra her voice AMAZING!

The visuals for The Reason THE BEST!!

 

The first show in 2015, the setlist was THE BEST.

 

Since then it really got worse, shorter, and lazy.

And the visuals looks so cheap.

 

So yes, it's time to stop with Vegas, or create a new one from scratch, with the same creativity she had choosing songs for her tours.

Some people here should stop watching all the videos from the Vegas show.

It's normal to get bored if you watch the same thing all the time... and when you do go to Vegas you might actually enjoy the show!!

Some people here should stop watching all the videos from the Vegas show.

It's normal to get bored if you watch the same thing all the time... and when you do go to Vegas you might actually enjoy the show!!

 

I have said this many times. But, people are gluttonous and can't help themselves. Some live to complain, and will repeat ad nauseum, the very things that cause them to do so...just so that they can keep complaining. It's a vicious cycle.

Well technically one, but one in English and one in French. And one for (hopefully) Broadway and one for Paris.

But of course things can change in 1,5 years...... also with Aldo gone now.

Gilles' son passed away after an accident with the Cirque du Soleil. So maybe that has changed a lot of things for him.

Already posted it elsewhere but i need to voice this :

 

I dont get why everyone is crap talking Celine about her tours,albums releases,photoshoots,interviews even her speaking voice. Has this woman not given you enough ?? She’s dedicated her life to making fans happy, coming back when her husband was extremely ill and then perfoming less than a month after her husband and brother died, doing shows when she was vocally exhausted, released albums, went on tours and done vegas 3 years in a row, she has done more than any of her other contemporaries.

 

This entire forum, some peoples lifes have been built by the music of Celine Dion, without her we would not have any of the amazing music we have today. In 38 years of albums,tours and being a worldwide singer can we not just accept that its probable that she will retire by the end of the next decade (maybe sooner), or was nearly 5 decades of endless work not enough ??

 

We are so fortunate, when rene died Celine could have EASILY bought her way out of Vegas,sold her house, moved back to Montreal and never sang live again. But she didnt, her dedication and love for her fans is insane, heck, in 2014 when Rene got cancer, she could have retired then without batting an eye. Or even in 2002 when she didnt want to start Vegas and wanted to live a normal life.

 

Anything we get now, we should be thankful for because Celine as a woman,mother and artist has given us so much and we can never forget that.

 

If she releases an album once every decade and (excuse the morbidness) dies on stage in Vegas at 85, i would be grateful because at this point she doesnt owe us anything.

 

I guess my point is we should accept what Celine wants as this is a pivotal turning point in her entire existence, not just as Celine Dion the singer, but also as Celine Marie Claudette Dion, the same little girl from Quebec with a happy smile and a big family.

I’m absolutely nuts lol. I just bought two tickets for March 30th & March 31st!!!!!! I’m so excited to go back! This means I’ll be there for her bday and she was there for mine!!! So far 2018 has been amazing!
