The first show in 2015, the setlist was THE BEST.

 

Since then it really got worse, shorter, and lazy.

And the visuals looks so cheap.

 

So yes, it's time to stop with Vegas, or create a new one from scratch, with the same creativity she had choosing songs for her tours.

I think the stage, screens plus light effects looked more exciting in last years tour. And that is even an easy to detach stage design. I am sorry but we're in Vegas and i miss a lot of show element. Even with the current setlist a change of costumes and setdesign would do so much.

We already talked about that beautiful lighthouse in a new day has come, they could mimic the ballroom of batb with both screens and props and let a lookalike belle plus beast do a little dance. In titanic bring movie images back and set her on the bow of titanic. For that's the way it is let her wear those clothes like in the videoclip and mimic the videoclip...ah well it takes a lot of time to come up with an interesting show, both in time and money - but they do have that and Celine can surround herself with the best film sfx people if she wanted to. Just saying - this show is not moving anywhere - it stays where it is so why not make use of the full potential? I know Madonna certainly would!

I think a lesson should be learned not to perform shows at this time of year. It’s too emotionally draining with Rene’s Anniversary, Birthday and her Brother Daniel’s Anniversary. I’m not saying she’s not sick but I bet that’s the reason why she got sick and is finding it difficult to shake off. You are much more prone to illnesses when you’re feeling emotionally and physically run down.

 

I get that Celine probably thought she’d prefer to perform and keep busy but sometimes your mind and body tells you otherwise. I hope she gets the rest she needs now without the stresses of worrying about show cancellations and comes back in March strong and well.

I'm not sure about the timing of the announcement, but I think it was the same just 2/3 shows cancelled at each time.

But not quite sure, she had more shows a week back than.

 

Anyway they noticed people were pissed off with announcements coming in just 3 hours before the show.

So at least they learned "something"

 

I didn't really follow between 2001 - mid'15, and don't remember a similar string of cancellations in recent past. Curious - how did they handle things like this when Rene was around?

I also wonder why she books shows in January and February... It's when most people get sick.

Even Céline isn't immune to viruses. And this year it seems to be a much stronger virus it seems.

Literally in the air en route to Vegas from NY. My flight took off just as the announcement came in.

 

Really disappointing on so many levels... it’s clear the shows should’ve been cancelled earlier this week. Her team knows people travel to see her. This is just careless behaviour on the part of her “management.”

 

Like I said earlier on they should have cancelled the whole week and then see how Celine was and then cancel the rest of the shows till March.

(not that I expected ANY of those haters of mine to like this post lol! They read, but don't say a word not even for a like haha -Coincidence? What is it, a positive and humorous post from me AND about Vegas! Of course these trio of people will be ready to jump on my neck in the blink of an eye the next time I say something "critic" about this topic, like a vulture monitors his prey ). Lurve it.

 

Now really, considering it's almost a month and a half until she returns, I think they'll have plenty of time for wardrobe changes and who knows, maybe 1 or 2 new songs to include. Which with the tour on the horizon, that wouldn't hard to do since they will have to rehearse songs anyway, so... It's killing two birds with one stone

If I had tickets to one of these canceled shows --- it would make it easier to accept now that she's canceled so many. She's obviously quite sick.

 

Hopefully that will lessen the sting for people who had planned trips to see her this month. How can you be angry at a performer for getting sick?

 

I hope Celine rests and comes back feeling great in March. I hope she's able to just take some time to breathe and reflect and recoup. This will hopefully give her some clarity for her upcoming projects, too. Like the tour, her new English album, etc.

They didn't cancel shows til March, that was her actual Vegas schedule, she actually only had two shows left, this Friday and Saturday before being off til end of March.

 

I hope she gets better soon because I'm sure she had recording sessions/ photo shoots and all sorts of things planned for these 2 months off, she also probably will start doing things for the upcoming tour. I hope any of those plans continue as planned.

I'm sure you're right about that. If this is a heavy cold though I'm sure she can work without singing if that makes sense. Cancelling the shows is about protecting her voice, but a lot of the behind the scenes stuff doesn't rely on that.

Getting over a cold or virus requires the body to rest. The more you're moving around and tiring yourself out, the harder and slower your body will fight to get better.

Yeah I wasn't suggesting that she doesn't rest at all. The post I responded to was talking about what she would be doing over the next two months though. I'm sure she will rest for a while. After that she can still rest her voice and make useful progress towards the tour and album etc. though.

 

I think Celine is like me in that respect, I'm not very good at doing nothing.

Yes. Both shows were announced to be CANCELLED yesterday. Those were the final two shows that were left until the end of March. I believe it starts back up on March 29th.
