With two shows Queen Celine has grossed more than Mariah with five.. and still some wonder why they don’t do changes in the show, why would they change something that sells so well?

I know, I was just being sarcastic with the past European tour. She spent almost two months flying in and out from Paris to dozens of cities, most of the time travelling during night, and yet she never caught a simple cold. Europe definitely sits her well, in terms of non-cancellations! ^_^

At least way better than Vegas :devilwave:

The thing I don't get about the cancelling of shows is that, Celine generally knows how long it takes to get over a virus. Celine and her team know that it doesn't just take a day or 2 to get over something like that. I don't know why they cancel shows day by and they leave things so last minute and up in the air, especially when people are traveling long distances and rearranging there entire schedules and sometimes there entire years around Celine's show.

For example. If Celine's knows that it generally takes 3 weeks to get over a virus, then she should cancel 3 weeks of shows right off the bat. At the end of the day I think that is much better and also less stress on her side of things. In my opinion, they way they do things now, Celine has to rush to get better and has pressure on her shoulders if she doesn't get better in the short amount of time given.

At least if she does it this way, she can just focus on getting better and also have the piece of mind in knowing that her fans didn't have to make a wasted trip, because this way they would be notified a couple weeks ahead of time, rather then being informed when they are already sitting in there seats at the Colosseum waiting for the show to start or something.

I know Celine's main focus is to just do the show, but I personally would much rather that she take the proper amount of time off to rest and not rush things. I know that a singers brain doesn't work like that though. Celine in particular is trained to think that the show must go on someway and somehow, even if she gets pushed to her limits. The show must go on in her mind and in the minds of many other singers. That's just how they operate, but I do wish sometimes that she would just take the time off that's needed right away, rather then playing it day by day the way she does.

She was going based on what her doctor said. Her doctor gave her a prognosis to return on whatever day it was. Tuesday? Maybe the virus wasn't so bad when she got checked out and it manifested into something worse. No virus is the same as the next. You could get a cold from me, but it won't be the same cold. It mutates into something different. So, the virus she has now, is not the same as the last one she had. When she gets a prognosis, she probably rests as much as possible, and sees her doctor again on the day of the show, mid afternoon I would assume. Like she says, it's not easy for her to cancel. She hates doing it. So, if there's even the slightest chance that she can perform, she wants to make it happen.

Nothing but respect for my President, Prime Minister, Queen, Mum, etc etc.

Imagine being so drunk that you think it’s a good idea to walk onstage during Céline Dion’s set at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Wild, I know, but bear with me. Imagine, for a moment, that you, a mere mortal, dared to ascend the heavenly stairs of Dion’s stage where the regal pop queen is bathed in gold, shimmering in a couture gown while singing to you songs of love and loss. This is not imagination, it’s real. An actual live human woman, drunk as f***, managed to make her way onto Dion’s stage in Las Vegas a few days ago and the Canadian icon handled it in an astonishingly sweet way.

Dion is a beacon for a lot in pop music, none more so than her extraordinary personality and presence on and offstage. A fan at the show managed to capture this awkward and unruly moment start to finish (thank you, dear stranger) and Dion is not only un-shook by the entire experience with a drunk megafan, she actually wanted the her to stay! Dion, with such earnestness that I don’t think even registered on the fan’s face, shooed away her security and said she was glad she stormed her stage. Then the fan proceeded to hump her and I am confounded by that. What… was the thought process of this person in that precise moment? Is having a good time synonymous with humping your idol without their consent?

Drunk fans are objectively the worst. I mean the ones who are obliterated and drooling and crawling up onstage to paw at their favourite singer or band. It’s Bacchanalian as all hell, yes, but stupid. But what about Dion’s security? Or the security of Caesar’s Palace, where the performance was held. In no way should a fan be able to reach the singer, of this insanely high calibre, so easily and be able to hump the Queen of Canada. (I’m honestly still in shock over that.)

Dion, for whatever the reason other than truly being The Best Human, did not think this was stupid and schooled every single one of us on how to be kind to people. She showed this fan compassion and told the audience it was important to have this break during the show because “some people go through a lot and some people need to talk” which, if that’s the case, Céline, I would love to talk to you about my current intimacy issues and get your insight. I feel like you might have some wisdom for me.

She also said of the fan, “I don’t know her, I love her,” which, profound and deep same with respect to you, Céline."

Celine calmly brought the subject back to the woman’s son by saying that they were all going to pray and make a change for her son. The lady didn’t completely return to earth from DrunkMessVille, but she eventually left the stage. And when she did, Celine Dion melted into a puddle of exhaustion like you do when your drunk friend finally passes out after spending two hours crying and screaming about how their boyfriend hasn’t returned their text.

The Goddess of Patience then got up off the stage floor and thanked her audience for turning the theater into an opulent therapy office for five minutes.

“You know what, some people go through a lot and some people need to talk. And I want to say thank you to all of you, because for maybe five minutes we have given this lady a moment to talk.”

If being the greatest singuh in duh world doesn’t continue to work out for Celine, she can begin a second career as an extra soothing party bouncer. Sure, getting kicked out of a party for being a drunk wreck sucks, but it wouldn’t suck that much if it was Celine Dion who gracefully escorted you to a waiting Uber."

It’s funny because when I first saw “Barbara” I thought it was a good thing security didn’t touch Babs when she said ‘Don’t touch me’ or she would have definitely asked to speak to a manager.

That's actually my biggest concern. How things have changed from AND! If you even thought of raising your hand to wave at Céline, a security guy at the stage end would give you such a death glare, you'd reluctantly, quietly go from sitting front row, to the back of the Colosseum!

I'm happy Céline is more 'approachable' nowadays, but this IMO should have been prevented from the start!

I guess you are right. Celine is just going by what her doctor tells her. I was only suggesting this other solution so that Celine doesn't feel like she has as much pressure on her shoulders to get better in a short period of time, but I know that Celine and her doctors know whats best for her.

And this is just one more example of why I am a huge fan of her speeches and talks. I love the singer, but I love stand up Celine as well! She is intelligent and so fast to come up with something! I am still laughing! :clap: :sofunny:

True. I was in 5th row on New Years even in 2003. After the show when almost everyone had left, I wanted to go up to the stage and just touch it. But nope, that wasn't even allowed.

Yes she usually buys at least 2 of each wardrobe element to have for backup, in case it breaks like in this case.

In fairness that was in June/July/August, this is January. Yes you can get summer colds but you are far more likely to get one at this time of year than at the time of year she has toured the last two years.
