Talia who works for Celine and AEG just posted this on her Instagram from tonight's final show. Celine blowing kisses to her little girl as she is leaving to go on stage. But um is that guy her new manager cause I've never seen him before

That's Dave Platel. He is part of Celine's management team, as well as the former President of The Celine Dion Foundation.

Oh! Didn't know that! I know I said I had never seen him before in the original post but there was still something deep inside me telling me that he looked familiar but my head kept going no no he's def new LOL guess now I know why my conscience was telling me that. My bad sorry guys!! Still the photo itself was so cute I had to share

Dave is always involved though and probably always around- and especially with the tour, as he was in the TC tour, he's no doubt involved heavily with logistics planning etc

lol I wasn't sure I don't remember seeing so much of him back then. Suppose it was cos Rene was usually there.

Hey her timing is getting so much better. She cut down on the rambling babble and it was much cleaner and funny!

Lol I'm critiquing her comedy and not the singing! :-D

After watching the whole show, I totally agree with you. Yes her timing is better, and yes we have to admit that she is very very funny! Her singing was great , she is incredible. ( I teared up a couple of times) It is interesting though, that we are all now critiquing her stand up Lol . :sofunny:

I don't know guys but the addition of Recovering and how does a moment last forver to her setlist is so good for me. Recovering is just a gem, she bares her soul in this one. So good, I can feel her on this song, it's just so good. Well done Celine, well done.

I really think Dave Platel is her new manager, he's been around a lot lately after Aldo left. Honestly it makes sense , Dave was Rene's right hand man a good chunk of those years, I was really surprised he didn't give the job to Dave instead of Aldo to begin with, unless maybe Dave doesn't want the job. :hmm:

Dave Platel was also on the Taking Chances Tour for all the dates, and he also was one of the speakers for Rene's Celebration of Life.

I agree with a lot of people on the forum, who think that Dave Platel will be Celine's new manager. I personally think that he is probably the best man for the job at this point. He has worked with Celine since the early 90's and I think that Rene would surely approve of him. Celine also probably feels very comfortable with him, knows that he is qualified for the job and trusts him. Those 3 things are what's most important.

 

I am keeping my fingers crossed that Celine's team will make an announcement right before the tour starts. I have a feeling that is why we are seeing Dave and Celine out in the open lately. First at the BBMA's and now backstage at her Vegas show. I think he has secretly been working for Celine ever since Aldo left and they are just starting to put him out in the open now. In my opinion, I think it's all part of the transition that's leading up to the big announcement coming soon! :-D

 

Those are just my thoughts anyways. Nothing has been confirmed or announced with the public yet, so I guess only time will tell. I really hope it's true though. I like Dave Platel. I think he is very qualified and wouldn't do anything to harm Celine's career. I get a good vibe off of him. :)

So could someone explain to me what I am missing?

The little girl was Talia's baby. Talia is the person who takes us to the meet & greet and she is Celine's personal assistant's daughter. She is the one who escorts us and briefs us before we meet Celine. She works backstage.

Ok so just woke up from a dream and thought I would share before i forget... it was Vegas and the last week of the show before going on tour.

 

Something was off... she opened the show with All By Myself which even in my dream I thought the people in the forum are going to go mental! But she was completely live and she decided to skip the big note... then the sung merged into a mashup with One Heart. Obviously lol.

 

She came out and played lead guitar and was doing great til her sound started faltering then stopped. Her sound guy ran out to give her a new mic pack and as he put it on, she collapsed and was taken to the back of the stage for medical to see her.

 

Everyone left except me and a few people and the venue staff offered to give us a tour backstage to apologise for the show being delayed. While back stage, Celine reappeared and apologised and took a selfie with me then the dream ended.

 

Thought you'd all like to know ;)

if her shows a late , then what time does she end the show , it must be over the time slot at 9:30,
