Celine (Las Vegas show) [ends: June 8th, 2019] - Official topic

Celine's "A New Day..." was visually stunning. It was actually spectacular. It has been said since the beginning that "Celine" would be much more simplistic and focused on the voice. I'm not sure why we are all still baffled about this.

I do realize this show is to focus on the voice but I found it lacked something. Maybe it's because I hold A New Day at such a high level and in a special place. It's not a bad show it's just I think with everything they have done and with the song selection of the past Summer I find the show was not to the best of their ability. When she came back August 2015 I actually liked the changes but now I feel it's too chopped up. That being said I'd still see the show in a heartbeat if I were to go back to Vegas.

I like that it's modern with a touch of old Vegas style performing. I would KILL to see Celine in a tiny piano lounge. Beautiful gown, and one of those vintage 1930's style microphones...and just a piano. I would love love love to see that. But to sell out every night, they needed a little more. Honestly, I don't really even pay attention to anything more than the song I'm listening to when I play the videos from Vegas. I couldn't even tell you what the visuals are.

That phrase at 1:01 killed me! She hasn't sounded this way for 3 years at least and I love that her voice is gradually coming back. Although I didn't realise what was the "deep tone" everyone had been talking about here some time ago, now I've got it when I heard the difference. I sometimes think that the word "who-OOll" (instead of "all") that she sings in the chorus of All By Myself is OK for this particular song, but tonight's variation sounds much closer to the original and much better in terms of her tone.

She was on fire last night! Gave a great show. Strongest tone i've heard from her in awhile, too. She talked quite a lot, but the audience seemed to eat it all up and loved every minute. Especially the stuff before acoustic medley. She also had a funny moment as Dawn was walking out...she got tongue tied a bit and introduced her as her back-up singer John. Then she said "well her name is Dawn, but she used to be John." And then was calling her Robert throughout the segment in front of the curtain which kept getting laughs. She was quite funny with all her long face bits, playing with Barnev about his cheeks, etc. The show started around 7:52pm, and after IS she apologized to everyone for the delay. She said it was her fault the show was late because she couldn't find her shoes! :P

 

Top show...definitely best I've seen in awhile! HDAMLF is nice. Not worth being in for years, but great to have something fresh while the movie is coming out. It's nice not having MHWGO at the very end, but still feels a little early for me since there are still 5 songs after it now. Only because it's so grand of a moment with the water curtains and all.

They should adjust céline's clock. Advance for 3 or 5 mins just like they did in A new day...

Sorry for bringing this up again but i noticed that there's no "corded mic" tonight. OMG! Finally! I feel like they are actually reading this forum and Céline. We talked about her cored mic, botox, singing in the bathroom.. She talks about that in her Vegas show so If they're reading this...
