I agree. Vegas moved Celine from pop star to LEGEND! So many period especially in the industry respect Celine more now. They know she's the real deal. She made Vegas the place to be not because a singers career was at the end but because it was the place to give the best show possible + the icing on the cake was the fact that these singers could set up roots in a place, even if not in Las Vegas in somewhere like LA that's only 3 hourr away from Las Vegas.

Regarding her English career in the 90s I think Celine was a follower in the sense that she did not bring anything new to the table. However, in the 00s she became a pioneer.

Agree. In the 90s she had great music and an undeniable voice. But I don't think she could fully claim the title "entertainer" until after she went to Vegas and had success, and earned that title. That's very important because every single "Legend" is an entertainer.

 

Now when Celine walks into a room of her show biz "peers" it's like royalty has just entered. People take notes at the first few rows of celebrities at the BBMAs on May 22nd and see the respect she gets now, it didn't happen as much in the 90s at least not here in the US.

Thank you! I think her status at this point is stronger than ever. She only needs to keep taking care of her voice and be more focused and careful with her public performances.

This is all true. The first show and subsequent tour damaged her voice. She then recovered though. Now she sounds good most times, but sometimes nasal.

 

I think the problem with her shows is her doing unnecessary covers. Which usually gives us the Karaoke-machine Celine.

Her sustained high notes are so raspy now. The impromptu high notes are fine but they're not properly modulated but I don't want to get into a vocal tangent. Lord knows we need that to start again!

 

But yes it's like she doesn't care for her English repertoire. You have a TON of songs you have yet brought to the stage! When we saw the LTAL recordings when she said to Corey Hart, "This would be a great song for the stage, because it has a mood." And she never ever sang it live, EVER. Come on woman. And I'm pretty sure every fan of hers can rest in peace after a performance of Then You Look At Me.

When they announced that the French album would be postponed and released in fall I knew for sure the English one would be released in fall 2017!

What's new. Her albums release dates are ALWAYS postponed, you can count on it!

If other artists' dates are always on target: Beyonce, Madonna, JLO, etc, why can't Celine's be on time too. I don't get it.

There haven't been any release dates for celine new albums.... Only a rough timescale...

 

And you know the reasons why they have been pushed back... Something major that happened in Celines life this year?

Pushed back from one season to the next , Spring to Fall etc is normal for Celine's albums, whereas for Beyonce, etc, it's pushed back from this weekend to next weekend.

I doubt Rene's death has anything to do with it at all. The album was complete even before he died.

The delay is all about marketing and promotion, and planning or a lack of it I should say.

Don't forget Celine has been at it for 35 years. She has other priorities in life now that don't involve doing back-to-back promo all the time (and she's clearly tired of it, as she has stated in past interviews).
