Cool! I hope it'll be more than just dedicating her 1000th Vegas show (which is also kinda depressing) to the 50th anniversary!

One thing made me laugh about this article, "Among the many stars who have performed at Caesars: Celine, Shania Twain, Bette Midler, Cher, Liza Minnelli, Judy Garland, Gloria Estefan, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin and The Pussycat Dolls." You have all these great voices then he includes The Pussycat Dolls....

I had goosebumps when I first saw AND live, when the glass shattered and she was walking down the stairs as well. The current show is about voice and I love that but in terms of stage and production the current show can't even compare. Even songs that were cut before they made DVD were so brilliantly done. The staging for "Fever" was amazing! The staging for " What a Wonderful World" was amazing seeing how everyone in the audience face was shown on the screen, in black & white, but it had a sparkle in the screen it was SO beautiful live. "I'm alive" staging was GEORGOUS in person I can't even describe how beautiful it was with all the vibrant colors on the screen . " I surrender" looked like the fire was real on stage. I could go on but I won't lol. Whether people liked "AND" or not I ADORED it, it really was beautifully done and magical. This new show is good but it lacks production for a Vegas show, I know Celine doesn't NEED it because her voice IS the show, but why not have it if you can. I really feel the orchestra is taking away from that amazing LED screen.

 

I'm late to the party but I have to agree with this. I never saw that show live because I was too young. But I sure watched the DVD 100+ times. I was obsessed with that show and still am almost 10 years later. There is something about AND that "Celine" will never have IMO. It's magical.. It's like you're in another world. It's fascinating, it really is. I can't describe how this show makes me feel. It's not really a show it's really another world. With all the dancers and the production... Nothing will ever beat that show. It was just pure awesomeness.

When I saw AND I used to listen to what people were saying when we were coming out of the show. Apart from "amazing", and my favourite "wow can she sing" 😂 loads always said "I came to hear her sing,don't really care about the other stuff". I'm glad for this second show it's more about her voice and songs etc.

I actually really like this idea! Maybe we'll see this in the future eventually, but I think that could be a good show!

I completely see where you're coming from Del. We were all ready for "A New Day..." when it came along and it was spectacular in many ways. I can only comment on the revamped "Celine" and for me it was just so much more about her and it's her that i love. Franco Dragone's acrobatics and scenery were great but ultimately I found myself just focussing on Celine most of the time.

I agree. Celine took big risks with AND. If I must choose between the two shows I will go with AND. I love her vocals better now but you're right that argument is irrelevant because a show like AND could have had the same vocals as this show, I think the reason the vocals weren't as good was because of the amount of shows they preformed it was a very intense schedule. I think we need a balance, a show about Celine's voice but with the magic of what AND had. I think that's very possible to achieve.

I think when they were changing around the costumes, they tried to do ABM in the black dress, and the she changed into the green dress for LCMM/RDMH, TSMGO, and Kiss/Purple Rain. I seem to remember us saying that the green dress didn't match the Prince medley, maybe if I go back through the other topic I'll find it! lol
