No. It is something that is considered sacred between just the two of them. I highly doubt we will ever know. Part of me like it that way.

No. You would think that it would mean love, but Celine said that it doesn't mean love and that she would never share what it means. Celine said that it's the only thing personal in her life that she won't share with her fans.

That's pure conjecture. She has stated plainly on multiple occasions that she won't reveal it.

 

And I for one like it that way.

I like it also, that it's something just for them. And I doubt it's love, because its more likely something in French.

I've stayed away from the forum for the past couple of weeks. I have only been able to keep up with some of the news since Rene's passing, but have had so much going on that there was just no time for me to be on here with the fan family. Now there are 91 pages in this topic and I just don't see myself being able to get through it all, so I'm just going to post something that I posted on my Facebook the day that Rene died.

These are the words of my friend, Jenna Glatzer who wrote my favorite biography about my idol, Celine Dion. I believe she captured the feelings that every fan had about the relationship between Celine and Rene. They had a love that most people could only dream of experiencing in their lifetimes. Back before we knew about their romance, Rene was very nervous about the potential backlash Celine would receive from her fans because of the age difference, while Celine wanted to shout from the rooftops that she was in love with this man. In 1993, Celine wrote to the world about her relationship with Rene in the liner notes for her album, "The Colour Of My Love." The fan reaction ended up being the complete opposite of what Rene was fearing. Most celebrity romances spark turmoil and rumors...partially due to being so public. Not Celine and Rene. They for the most part, managed to avoid a media circus of negativity. Of course you had a few naysayers and your occasional judgmental idiot criticizing them...but at the end of the day, they had a 21 year marriage with the most minimal public bumps in the road. Their love story is a fairytale brought to life. A true model of love and companionship that I one day hope to find even a fraction of. I truly believe that every love song that Celine sang was directed right at Rene and it formed a beautiful soundtrack to their life together. I will never listen to "The Power of Love" or "Pour que tu m'aimes encore" the same way again. Celine made her songs so believable. I know people feel that she may be too schmaltzy or that a lot of her lyrics are too saccharine, and I get that. But I feel she truly believed what she was singing about, because of who she was singing for. Rest in Peace, Rene Angelil. Your contribution to this world will never go unnoticed.

I believe they invented there secret sign when Rene started his battle with cancer in 1999. He wasn't able to go see her perform because he was going through treatments and feeling to weak to attend the shows. He watch and listened through a Live satellite feed.

 

Apparently, he would tell things to Celine in her earpiece and she would respond with a touch of her nose and other signs, so I would imagine that's when the L.V. came into there lives.

The LV goes back as long as their love story has been public. In her very first open statement about Rene, in the liner notes to TCOML, Celine says, "Rene, you're the colour of my love. L.V."

 

I love that they publicly have this private sign. I hope it never gets revealed.

Oh yeah. I forgot about the L.V. at the end of the liner notes in TCOML album. Good observation.
