scielle Posted December 9, 2016 at 04:09 AM Posted December 9, 2016 at 04:09 AM Disappointed that Celine has chosen a slimy rag like NY Post for an exclusive interview, but what can you do... But anyway, seems like that Page Six article is making the rounds all over the net. Vanity Fair picked it up and wrote the below - http://www.vanityfair.com/style/2016/12/celine-dion-husband-death-coping-holidays 1 Quote

Vanity Fair picked it up and wrote the below - http://www.vanityfair.com/style/2016/12/celine-dion-husband-death-coping-holidays I thought it was odd she went to them, but when Rene was ill they never bothered her (unless I missed it). This may be here way of paying them back for not hounding her during that time? Or maybe she is just comfortable with that journalist. At any rate, I started a new thread for the article. In my opinion these rings must be one of the things that she cherishes the most. Before they were married, when they got engaged, she gave an interview for Leno and said that she was very proud of her ring. Can you imagine now! 3 Quote
Angel2006 Posted December 19, 2016 at 06:41 AM Posted December 19, 2016 at 06:41 AM I wasn't able to post about Celine and Rene's 22nd wedding anniversary on the actual day, because I have been out of town for awhile, but it was very much on my mind when the day arrived. Hopefully Celine and Rene's anniversary day wasn't to sad. I know Celine must be in Montana by now, so hopefully she spent the day on the slops with her family and had lots of fun. It's sad that Rene is not physically here anymore to celebrate there anniversary, but knowing Celine, she probably turned it into a happy day. Celine always seems to look at the bright side of things, even through her most difficult times. That's just 1 of many reasons why I love and admire Celine so much. Just when I think I couldn't admire and look up to her more, she impresses me with her courage, optimism and unwavering strength! Happy 22nd anniversary Celine and Rene! I'm sure Rene is looking down from heaven and celebrating in his own way and I think Celine must sense and know this and is feeling his presence strongly. 4 Quote

They also say that, normally, she used to kiss him before leaving for the Colosseum but didn't have the time to do it the day of his passing because she was really late. He was found the next morning on the floor and doctors confirmed to Céline that he didn't suffer any contusion when he fell from his bed during the night. Almost a year later, it's really hard to write this 5 Quote Tournée Européenne in Paris (December 1, 2013)Céline Dion Live 2016 in Antwerp (June 20, 2016)Céline Dion Live 2017 in Birmingham (July 27, 2017)

LukeD Posted December 22, 2016 at 10:52 AM Posted December 22, 2016 at 10:52 AM (edited) I remember being in the army, doing some office work, when I heard the news on radio. I almost whispered ''Oh f***!'', did not say it out loud so that people around would not know I am involved. They would make the connection that being a Celine fan means I am gay, so I wanted to avoid that in such a homophobic place. I was in denial for few days, a bit frozen that the worst had come! Only started realizing what happened after his funeral and tribute. I think the way Celine coped with it helped her children tremendously. Even I, being nothing but a fan, eventually focused on the way she handled everything. She's so remarkable! Edited December 22, 2016 at 10:53 AM by LukeD 4 Quote

Angel2006 Posted December 28, 2016 at 06:16 AM Posted December 28, 2016 at 06:16 AM I can't believe that New Years is approaching. This is going to be Celine's and her children's first year without Rene. It's so hard to believe that it has almost been a year since Rene's passing. Hopefully the year 2017 will be brighter for the Dion/Angelil family! 4 Quote

Cafe67 Posted January 14, 2017 at 02:26 AM Posted January 14, 2017 at 02:26 AM I really can't believe it's been an entire year since René passed away. I know Céline is a very positive person, so I'm sure she'll continue to say that she's okay because she knows René is no longer suffering, but I can't help but feel so sad to think that he's been gone an entire year. I think it's kind of strange that I feel such a loss for someone I never even knew personally. I just absolutely loved seeing the two of them together, and their relationship was just so rare. I'm really glad Céline has her boys - she is very lucky in that respect to have such a loving family. I had my songs on shuffle earlier, and the song Come To Me came on. I couldn't help but think that it's the perfect song for Céline to sing to RC. So sweet. 2 Quote

Angel2006 Posted January 14, 2017 at 03:52 AM Posted January 14, 2017 at 03:52 AM I also can't believe that it's coming up to a year tomorrow. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that an entire year has gone by already. I whole year without the love of her life. I can't even begin to imagine how hard this year must have been for Celine. This was the year of all the firsts without Rene. First birthday, first Anniversary and Christmas. All those special moments in life that couples usually spend together. It had to have been pretty tough on her, especially there anniversary and tomorrow as well, but Celine is a very strong woman though and if she's made it through this first year, I think she can make it through pretty much anything. I will be thinking of the Dion/Angelil family a lot tomorrow and hoping that everyone is well. At least there is some positive news for them in the new year. As we've just learned, Celine's sister Ghislaine is now cancer free, so there is so much for them to still be thankful for. 2 Quote
