There was a weird moment of "what the eff?" when the video from American idol started. I started thinking for a second that they cut out the whole segment because they brought out bar stools during the video as if they were getting ready to start the acoustic set... And then immortality started. Phew!!! the whole exciting point for me was having her perform if I can dream with the hologram. To have a video performance during a costume change for me cheapens the entire show. I'm all for replacing Barnev's solo but not at the expense of one of Celine's songs. It was 18 songs at the end. Granted we have a few shorter songs, but we still have about 22 or 23... the 90 minute limit is simply the box celine and all vegas entertainers are in with their show contracts and the casinos.... if anything we should be thankful the few shows we were given the full length longer show when it was clearly over.... it was clearly obvious this would happen.... not every show has the luxury of being as long as celine USF or the Millennium concert.....celines vegas show and the time duratiom sn't different than anyone else's 7

Everyone here said they made changes/cuts to previous shows. But is it normal to move all over the board nightly? I have only seen this show, none of the previous ones. Vegas showrooms are tough! Everything....EVERYTHING centers around the casino table play!! Slots pays the bills, table games are pure profit. Restaurants/booze used to be just a perk for the players. It got too expensive, so they farmed out all the food and beverage outlets to others. That was the birth of the hospitality corporations/famous chefs that are now so prolific here and around the country.

I about lost it when they started doing it, I never thought in a million years I'd get to hear that live. Maybe they'll bring Elvis back. I did love the green dress, and it fit better than the silver gown for uptempo songs, but that silver dress is absolutely stunning on her, it kills me, so I'm fine with it. I'm sure they'll tweak it again. Also, my biggest nitpick about her singing right now is that god-awful note she squeaks out at the end of I Surrender (ta*squeak*ke me!). It's off key as hell and she's done it as long as she's been singing it live. She needs to do it lower, it sounds awful. Does anyone else think that? I love the new way she sings TFTEISYF. It doesn't have the belt like her regular version, but it works really well and she sings it beautifully, whereas back in A New Day she could get pretty nasal for that belt.

Meh, I much prefer her singing it behind the beat like she did those first few shows. She's been singing it straight for so long that it's a welcome change; much more interesting. And sad but true about the 90min time limit. Vegas audiences have a notorious reputation for short attention spans, or at least that's the industry belief (which I think plenty of us here could easily dispute as we'll certainly be more than happy to sit through a Celine show twice that length!) Producers there just won't stand for anything longer; it's not like Broadway or West End that way, sadly. So I suspect they will keep cutting it down. It didn't work the same way as "HDYKTMP" where there were two voice parts for Celine to sing, and then the witty banter at the end was cute and brought some humor. "Immortality" doesn't have that same specific quality. I love that she's performing it live, but it probably works better and makes more sense without the Celine hologram. Now the final hologram that was in the show has been cut and it was the new celine hologram. What is going on behind the scenes this run? Every night there is a change..and not for the better. All three holograms being cut has to be due to some behind the scenes decisions...because its not due to time since the song is still in the show. I am utterly baffled right now.. 1

Now with this revamped show we got not only a new Celine hologram with a new dress and new look but Frank Sinatra and Elvis made an appearance...hologram overload but it worked! It was awesome. First we lost Sinatra, then we lost Elvis and now all holograms are completely gone including the Celine hologram that has been in the show since 2011....regardless of what worked and didnt I am completely surprised and disappointed that fresh aspect of the show has been removed..it was one of the many many aspects of the show that made it unique and special besides the obvious...Celine herself.

When they were working on revamping the show I am sure they were discussing what new holograms they could bring to the show and when the show premiered August 27th there were 3...so obviously they worked really hard to get Sinatra and Elvis made into holograms for this show..the lighting, the staging, the timing and order, filming of Celine in a new outfit, recording new vocals for the Immortality track, I am sure quite a bit of discussion and hard work went into putting the 3 new holograms into the show..they obviously wanted that element of the show and even wanted to enhance the hologram experience by adding 3 total. So now for the holograms to be removed one by one to nothing is very telling and quite odd at this point...so there has to be a few significant reasons for the removal of all three. I also think it was rude and disrespectful for those who grapped and threw there arms around her for selfies during her walk through the crowd while she was singing live and knowing what she's been through. It's fine to hold ur hand out to her or to call her but some really crossed a line in the vids I have watched, and who knows maybe it annoyed her or freaked her out. It never happened during the last leg of shows. 6

Niko's Posted September 10, 2015 at 09:07 AM Posted September 10, 2015 at 09:07 AM (edited) I know my opinion won't be shared by all of us, but I think the changes made in September were the right choices (considering the need of shortening the show, indeed) : First, "All The Way" removed : the song was already in "A New Day" show / a song too slow for a more energetic show / and maybe too many duets for this new show...After that, "Unison" interlude taken out : a great uptempo and Celine hit, but only sung by backing vocals, so clearly disappointing, and felt like a "karaoke".Then, "If I Can Dream" moved as the interlude : here we have one less song done by Barnev / the hologram duet was perfect for "American Idol", but just for a one-time moment.Eventually, "Immortality" sung without hologram : the process wasn't as logical as it was for HDYKTMP / here is the occasion to see the song performed fully live again ! Something I wish wouldn't happen. Says it every night and the same way every night......Other wise I LOVE love love the show! Side note about the self-hologram: I thought it was funny when she said 'I've never done one with myself before' (paraphrasing) when the audience knew she had. I don't mind them taking out holograms, to me, I've never been crazy about them, too smoke and mirrorish, just as long as they don't cut Immortality!!!
