Celine is having fun...she's getting good reviews everywhere on the web...it was just done on one show on New Year's Eve as a surprise for her fans...What is the problem with that? Celine is getting too many managers on this forum! lol lol Happy New year and be safe! :)

While I appreciate we want her to sing her songs as that's why we are fans- because we like her singing and her songs- I don't think there is a problem with her singing a 2 minute rendition of another artist's song...a song that she clearly likes and an artist we know she admires. My God, we are so demanding and harsh and critical of her. Heaven forbid she does what she wants.

 

Sometimes this forum pisses me off majorly

 

But that's the point!!! the fans are never listen to...how many here really , REALLy love her current setlist in Las Vegas? Now we are gonna say she doesn't have a cool repertoire on her own? I get it, she can't sing ONLY for her true hardcore fans, she never will sign Water from the moon in Las Vegas...I get it,but signing Adele, AGAIN, come on...

I can't believe people are still talking about this Adele cover. It's not my favorite thing in the world how she keeps singing Adele songs, but I admire how she is trying to keep things fresh and change up the show a little every night anyways. At least she's not covering Marilyn Mansion or something.

 

I think that Celine didn't do this Adele cover to stay relevant in the media. It's not about that. Celine just wanted to have a little fun on New Years Eve. I don't think Celine was expecting any kind of reaction or gained popularity, she was just simply having fun.

Yes I am a fan and since 20 years....

Some newer fans by here need more maturity and need to admit that Celine failed Hello and did a wrong step.

Even Global News talked about it tonight..though I didn't like Sophie Lui seemed like she was mocking Celine or something. She didn't seem to like the cover and then she even hit her chest to mimic the titanic move. I kinda just rolled my eyes luckily the sports analyst Jay liked it.

This performance just gives others more ammunition to criticize her. I think it wasn't a good move, makes it seems like she's trying to ride on Adele's success even though we don't think that way.

 

The video already went viral with nearly 300,000 views. I'm reading the comments and it's not well received by others. :down:

I'm a 'hardcore fan' and I love hearing her sing different songs. Mainly I like to hear something new and have listened to her own songs so many times before. I also love the fact that she can sing anything. There is nobody else quite like Celine.

 

Another element of her career is that she has never listened to critics and has always done her own thing. Celine is not supposed to be 'cool' and has never cared about that.

publicity for who ? She's already done it before it added nothing to herself and for sure nothing to Adele who even in this time of her life doesn't have a sec not a minute to think about Celine or talk about her ,and I wish the same for Celine, u don't need to complement people all the time ,especially when they don't need it from u and I'm sorry to say sometimes don't care

My response is "meh." Years ago artists used to cover other artists' songs and release them the same year. At least she's not done that.

 

My only gripe is how underrehearsed she sounds on the verses.

Maybe a weird question. But what does- 'sounded flat' mean? It is not pitchy i guess but what does it mean?

I don't mind Celine covering Adele, or somebody else, during one show is just that I don't like Hello that much, I don't understand how this song is getting so successful. Set fire to the rain on the other hand.. I have always wanted to like Adele, but even thou I like some songs I can't listen to one of her albums at once. Celine goes on as the one and only for me :)

As I said before ,the success of Adele doesn't all rely on her voice and songs ,cause there is a lot of artists that are way talented than her ,but it's what they want to be a success in the media , but Celine success is a real success .

Oh calm down everyone. She loves Adele. She loves the song. She wanted to just have some fun. It was probably barely rehearsed. I like the fact that Céline is a lot more spontaneous with this show - walking through the audience, letting people sing with her, FINALLY singing MHWGO live, etc. She wasn't singing Adele because she wanted to copy her or be "cool." Calling her "pathetic" for doing it is just disrespectful. Let her have some fun if she wants to take 2 min out of the show instead of criticising...

i mean Celine showed us before that she loves certain artists and even sang for them and we didn't even comment about it,even sang for them ,but with Adele I think she's over reacting really

Celine's shows have always included a number of covers and she was just having a bit of fun . . . you would think the way some people are talking/writing that Celine had showed up at the Coliseum and performed an entire Adele concert get a grip guys :)

 

Have 2016, have lots to look forward to with new album and tour . . love and best of health to all (esp Rene, Celine and family) x

I have never been closer to creating a YT account just for the sake of replying to certain comments.

 

With this performance we reached the point where people post s*** and get like 150 thumbs up.

 

The song is NOT too big for Celine, Adele is NOT better than Celine, Celine has the proper voice to sing THIS and EVERY power ballad. Ugh. Idiots.

Pitch and tonality issues were apparent to me. This is my impression after listening twice. People who criticize her vocals in this and the AMA performance are right.

She sang a minute of a song from Pajamimals (a kids show) and a second (really just the title) of Aretha Franklin's "Rescue Me" once when the Stevie Wonder hologram broke. So, I suppose, anything is possible :)

Very quick reaction by the bodyguard. Celine remained very calm and loved how she's the one reassuring everyone it's all ok.
