Exactly. Stop panicking and dissecting the whole performance. Just sit back and enjoy it, have fun with it. Isn't celine allowed to just do something random and have fun once in a while? Yeah analyse it if it were a main feature in the show. But I'm sure it was just for NYE , and it made a change from the usual addition of TP! If people moan about it too much and take the performance out of context (and she hears about it) it may make her think, why bother. And I want Celine to be more spontaneous. It's the one thing that has been lacking in lv shows.

Saying that, everyone has their opinion. Otherwise this forum would be really boring 😁

Hopefully she was "goofing around" and the song was a NYE's cute surprise...having HUNDREDS of amazing songs herself, picking the "artist of the moment" to cover her, makes her look a lil "desperate" and she is CELINE F**ING DION,

 

By the way... that dress was taken from the Joan Collins collection from Dynasty??

Wow, I'm a bit shocked by the strength (and negative orientation) of the reactions of her cover!

 

a) Celine likes to cover songs as we fans know This was a shortened, NYE, quick and cute version of the song c) she sounded great

 

d) I'm surprised people would expect her to have time to listen to anything but the most major hits these days given what she is doing in her personal life

 

e) I'm also surprised people would arbitrarily choose this time at this year to judge her performances for evidence whether her voice is done for good. People say that too often around here.

I'm sorry about those here who think this is just "a phase" of her voice like the many we've seen throughout the years, but I'm truly concerned for her voice now. Not because of the high/long notes being masked by melismas (or sth like it), but because she was FLAT at some low notes. Just like she was on the AMA performance!!! I don't recall Celine being flat before, except for some songs from that "La Fureur" special, which I believe were due to technical difficulties. Celine's been known for her pitch- and tempo-perfectness

 

I don't believe this is all caused by René's ailing. Something's definitely going on.

These kind of ballads..like hello..those are the kind of songs she needs for her new album. That is where she is known for. Bur she should not sing hello that is currently a hot song and Adele just came back after her long break. Hello is Adele's . Stay away from it Celine. No she did sing it differently. The way she sings the refrain is very different and too short. Abrupt short sentences. The long Adele notes are not here.

Guys I seriously think she's just having fun. We all love Adele's new song and remember Celine is human too. She said she is her favourite singer. Hell, I sing "Hello" all the time in my elevator and if I was Celine Dion I would surely play around with it too. Remember she sings the same songs day in day out.

 

That being said, of course Adele's version is better. Just like Celine's versions of her own songs are better. Secondly, I saw her in November in Vegas. Her voice was spectacular. "Somewhere over the rainbow" is just breathtaking.

 

Finally, I do agree she should leave it out of the show, but just play around. No problem.

I'm sorry guys. i am in awe with Celine's version of Adele. I don't know but Celine's version is way much better than Adele's. Not being bias as a fan. With her voice, it's just MAGICAL for me. I LOVE that she covered hello, now I can appreciate the song even more. Celine thank you so much. Your fans are giving you such a hard time and are becoming such a pain in the as*!!! I just took the performance for what it was fun. The way she sang the ending makes me feel it was only for NYE. It was a nice surprise, Do I want it to be part of the show, no. If they are looking to add a permanent song then it should be one of hers. But for this one night I think it was fun and she enjoyed sharing it.

Guys the first few parts of concerts usually is tough for singers then later on it becomes easier. Celine's doing great and she's no machine. She still does it best than the rest out there

Sorry but not thrilled about the cover. To me she does try to copy Adele's way of speech and so it just doesn't work for me.

 

It just shows me that they/she can make quick changes to the set list and choose not to! Why not add HER songs???? I will never understand it!

 

I really makes me wonder if she just doesn't care about the fantastic material she has in her hands at her disposal............

 

I understand it's for fun and I guess as long as she's happy that's all that matters but still I don't get it.

Don't get me wrong, I really think she did a great job and, of course, I prefer Celine's version ( I can't stand listening to Adele's version, Celine's version is much "warmer"). But I'm fed up with Celine doing Adele, Celine doing covers, Celine cutting her OWN songs (cause probably it was sung instead of Incredible, right?).

 

And the saddest thing is that if Celine had recorded and released that song as a single, it would be a flop

 

I believe it was a bonus song, she still sang " incredible", "all by myself", "andhc medley", "immoratalty" all the songs she sings in the black dress were present.
