It does serve a purpose when the fans and public have no clue and ultimately made up dates themselves. Everyone thought the single was scheduled for the 22, I'm sure you're included, and Celine's management had nothing to say about it. Initially you shut down rumors like that to prevent further complications and misunderstanding. But no, they have no concern in that aspect or any for that matter. You can't possibly make me believe you think their management is up to par, if you do, you must've overlooked the missed opportunities and actions that could've been taken with her last five albums.

She owes us nothing, and for that matter neither does Aldo. Anything new we get is a privilege.

Agree, it may be frustrating, but the sense of entitlement is misplaced.

I agree Celine owes nothing and I have been saying so for a good 4 years now. Aldo is a different case though. He should have made a statement about the false rumour.

If you disagree, just say so, otherwise please refrain from assuming I lack in a certain area, such as PATIENCE. I never said we DESERVE an album, better yet, I never said hurry up and release the album, I said their management is poor. Do not try to twist my words to give your opinion valuable context. I'm well aware of Rene's passing, and am deeply saddened by it, but where did I mention anything pertaining to his death? Furthermore, releasing a date or simply shutting down rumored dates has absolutely nothing to do with Rene or Celine. Updates about anything regarding the album is certainly something, ESPECIALLY when in this case, it'll be her most personal yet. To imply that official info and actions regarding the album is pointless most appropriately fits the word "Stupid". Certainly, they have something to tell us, song titles, musical direction, etc. (we got at least that with LMBTL) Personally, I can care less about NEWS, providing a simple statement of the album's release and material is enough, which we've received with almost all of her albums months before release. My main point was that they are slowly but surely letting this album's anticipation wither. Before trying to sway me, please completely observe the likes of my statements thoroughly.

It's still odd and frankly poor the way they're handling this album. I don't know.

 

Well if it wasn't for the internet we wouldn't know about studio time, release rumours etc.

I miss the days where out of the blue we'd be told such and such is out next week.

I'd be really surprised if they announce anything for this album before the tour. It's great she's touring and doing the residency and releasing a new album and possibly new merchandise lines (I'd love a clothing or make-up line) 2016 can really be her year. She's certainly going to sell over a million copies with this album and the tour/Residency is sure to surpass the $100,000,000 mark! She'll perform her 1,000th show in Vegas. It's alot going on really, but the album, still needs some pushing I think.

We all KNOW that she lost her husband and she can even never release an album, and it would be understandable...

 

BUT we are talking here about announcing a possible single release date (22nd April didn't show up out of nowhere) and not commenting about changing it or denying it.

All we know, and all we need to know right now is that the album has been postponed. Anticipation is not dwindling, as we are all still here talking about it. We never actually had a confirmed single date, as it was only in ONE tabloid article, and we don't even know if Aldo actually spoke to this publication. La Presse has also removed the article without printing a retraction. That right there tells me that the news was both not official and untrue. Things have take a different course, and we are not owed anything. Plus, I wouldn't want any kind of update unless it's at least 90%. Not just something for the sake of it.

 

P.S. In a previous post, you were saying that you weren't saying that the management was poor. Now you are. So which side of the fence are you sitting on?

 

 

I can say it's being handled poorly, because it has most definitely been handled poorly. Nowhere did I say that the pushing back of the album is poor management, I said it's being handled poorly because there is absolutely NOTHING to go off of regarding the album.

Shania Twain is doing it. Also, the French album was supposed to come out before the tour. Circumstances have changed that. Which should be understandable.

In the meantime, I'm going on hunting for new Celine things, and enhancing my collection! It cheers me up, keeps me busy, and keep my Celine flame alive !

And this is why we shouldn't blindly follow rumours or news via hear say. It's happening more and more. I don't know what's worse... news outlets posting information/news without a credible source or news/fans outlets blindly posting "news" because they're so eager to have the exclusive and not wait for confirmation/denial.

Why are people even defending Celine when nobody attacked her? The single release date turned out to be a huge fat mess. This is the problem.

 

A wrong release date was announced some time ago and the manager of Celine did nothing about it. So I agree with those who say this is not the way to handle things.

Since there was no official announcement from her team/website then we should have taken the date with a grain of salt. Yes I understand there was mention in an article, but it can no longer be located so to me that was the media creating rumors.

You can't be in the industry they are in, be successful as they are and the management not up to par. As for the single, yes when we first heard April 22nd I thought how great, however when soon after there was no official announcement I no longer thought the date was credible.

There were certainly missed opportunities with her last albums, no one can say there wasn't. Was it due to lack of time, unforseen circumstances, we don't really know. D'elles, TC, and LMBTL all could have been bigger than they were had certain song, videos been done etc. For the record thought I thought they did a great job with SA.

I believe he spoke to them. And probably once they changed their mind about the single release they decided to just remove the article.

This is annoying. One talks about poor management and people defend Celine as if she is the manager. So much oversensitiveness!

 

I can see us in 6 months from now criticizing something of little importance like the album cover only to have people go ''OK you don't like it but she lost her husband...''.
