We are confirming that the Quebec newspaper La Presse (Lapresse) which had published an article on March 5th, citing the release date of the single was completely removed. The date of April 22nd, has been apparently revealed by Celine's manager and the information has been taken up by several newspapers, therefore we can likely conclude that no single will be released today.

We are sorry to see that the magazine La Presse has just launched the information and then retracted it without an explanation.

Guys, yes, I wanted a single but this is just not her priority any longer. It's been what, 100 days since Rene has been gone so disappointed as we or I may be I fully understand.

Hmm. Well I partly agree. Only difference is we will get the single right before the album release, no songs from the album in the tour, but they'll do a bunch of covers and songs from SA, there will only be 1 single, released with no promo, no heads up, no announcements,then promote the single and album in December when she's off. No MV'S either, maybe a TV special.

Guys she could still surprise everyone on tour by singing 1 (or more) new songs. Look at the reaction of her adding LMBTL at the last minute in her shows 😀 maybe a single could be released just before the tour even.

I always thought it was a little silly to release one now when she's back in lv. As she's obviously still recording during this break. The tour could be promo for the first single.

How can it be poor handling when there were unexpected circumstances that have delayed the album? They are not going to release a timeline for when what is going to be released and in what order and how it's going to be promotion. To be quite honest they probably don't have all the details ironed out yet. Things can change last minute, options removed or added in for promotion. Things will be revealed to us with dates etc when it is ready to be announced and not before. So I don't think it's fair to say it's being handled poorly as we don't even know what the plan is yet. Once details are officially announced then we can give our opinion on if we think enough is being done or what we would have preferred to see of what we like that they've done. Saying otherwise if pushing for information on a product that is not ready. and that is my opinion

Nowhere did I say that the pushing back of the album is poor management, I said it's being handled poorly because there is absolutely NOTHING to go off of regarding the album. It was announced in August, we got writers in October and a few clips in December. That's all. Also may have said that they'll release two singles before the album, but nothing on that either. Many artists give release dates as to when their singles will be released on ITunes, in this case, we only have speculation and guesses. Nobody said to plan out an entire time line of promo regarding the album or singles, simple release dates for a LEAD single is certainly not a hard task from her label (see PAMP). Like I said, the album may be in development still, but at least with SA, we knew what was actually planned and/or coming.

Nobody said to plan out an entire time line of promo regarding the album or singles, simple release dates for a LEAD single is certainly not a hard task from her label (see PAMP). Like I said, the album may be in development still, but at least with SA, we knew what was actually planned and/or coming.

At the end of the day the only info they need to release to us is the single date and the album date. That will be given to us when it's ready to be released. I know you didn't mention that the pushing back of the album was poor management, however the circumstances earlier this year cause the project to be delays and not ready for when they originally planned. This brings me back to what I said earlier about things being released/announced when they are ready. I suspect the reason they aren't giving a release date for the single is due to them not knowing exactly for sure when the album is to arrive in stores. I'm sure they have an idea but you don't want to release it too early and it loose traction before the album hits stores. I, like many on this forum am looking forward to knowing more information about the album and it will come when they are ready.

Why are people even defending Celine when nobody attacked her? The single release date turned out to be a huge fat mess. This is the problem.

 

A wrong release date was announced some time ago and the manager of Celine did nothing about it. So I agree with those who say this is not the way to handle things.

and once again they do everything wrong...

 

For crying out loud, release the single now and the Album in summer right when the concerts Start and include the best 4 or 5 Songs in the concerts. The momentum and media attention she gets for being around and doing the concerts is already promotion enough for the New Album, then organise Interviews before and after the concerts that can be shown on TV so that she won't have to go to all the tv studios and hit two birds with one stone. Gosh, her Team is a bunch of amateurs...

It does serve a purpose when the fans and public have no clue and ultimately made up dates themselves. Everyone thought the single was scheduled for the 22, I'm sure you're included, and Celine's management had nothing to say about it. Initially you shut down rumors like that to prevent further complications and misunderstanding. But no, they have no concern in that aspect or any for that matter. You can't possibly make me believe you think their management is up to par, if you do, you must've overlooked the missed opportunities and actions that could've been taken with her last five albums.

She owes us nothing, and for that matter neither does Aldo. Anything new we get is a privilege.

Agree, it may be frustrating, but the sense of entitlement is misplaced.

There may have been a plan in effect, but an important man has died and things may have changed. The insensitivity is astounding in this forum from some of you. We're lucky they didn't cancel the entire album release. Patience is a virtue, some of you should try and acquire some.
