I'm confused (as usual). But isn't Xavier Dolan a movie director? And now he wrote a song for Celine? Or is this some other guy? Has he written songs for other artists?

 

I don't get it?

 

edit. What I mean to say is, do we even know if this guy is any good as a song writer? Why is there such a big fuss over Celine not choosing his song? Maybe it just sucked?

 

(and now somebody probably comes and tells me he wrote some super-mega-hyper-hit that even I should know and I'll just feel stupid )

he is a movie director, but he is very popular in France, and Canada obviously...and people sees him as this guy who can do no wrong. I really don't get why they can't release the album earlier. STILL.

 

Yes it might mean missing out on some promo opportunities while she's out on her mini-tour this summer, but I'm so glad they decided not to release this now, as originally planned. I can't imagine Celine having to go through the stress of a press tour now. It would be too much to ask of her, too soon. Those things are draining and unpredictable. Getting up on stage to perform is one thing - it's where she feels comfortable, she's in control, she decides what to sing and what to say, she's doing it on her own terms. It's a controlled environment.

But imagine her having to deal with a throng of entertainment journalists right now. Yes, most are respectful, sensible people. But some, especially of the more tabloidy press ilk, would be vultures if allowed to interview her right now. They'd set out to provoke her and bring her to tears for the sake of a story. Yes, she has shown she can put on a brave face and deal gracefully with very intrusive questions, but I think it would be a lot to ask of her right now while she's still trying to get used to a new normal.

I'd rather wait and allow her the time to figure out how to deal with the press. I think if they pushed for that release - an accompanying press tour - too soon, she'd just end up hurt and scarred, and it might really put her off from the whole thing. And we certainly don't want that.

Exactly. Every interview she'll be asked. It's one thing to stand on stage and sing, but to have to answer certain questions only a matter of weeks later, whole other ballgame. Would be different if it was just once but it wouldn't be. Every show, recording and release will be different now. Grief is hard. She needs time. Let's hope she gets whatever time she needs.

Really looking forward to the new album , single and tour. Soon be here! 😀

Part of me doesn't understand why they won't release it earlier, in conjunction with the tour since some new songs will be included in the setlist. I'm a little baffled by that decision. I completely understand why they postponed from March but that late.....

Just be patient... In less than a month we will be discussing the new single, then her concerts/live performances and then we'll get the album. 2016 will be a full year!

pushing it too autumn is just stupid. It's too far away. I secretly cross my fingers that they could surprise us with an earlier date. It's still possible

If they are delaying the album I think that it must be for a good reason. Maybe Celine found some new inspiration and wanted to record different songs, or maybe she's even writing some of her own material?

 

I wouldn't be surprised if we get a personal song on this album written by Celine herself. A song that comes directly from her heart that allows her to free herself from the sadness and heaviness she has been carrying these past few years.

 

I know there will be personal songs written by JJG, but I think it would be a really good form of therapy for her to write a song herself that are her own words and her own thoughts. I can see it happening. I could be wrong. Just a thought.
