from what i have heard so far, few songs seem to be recorded in late 2014 (close to when Celine face a Dion was recorded). Her voice sounds stuffed on a couple of them, her accent is strange on a couple of others. Will wait for the whole album to be out before I make my final decision, but not very impressed at all so far.

One thing I've just noticed after watching that video (well the first 45 seconds, I stopped so I didn't spoil it) is that she mentioned during the making of the Let's Talk About Love album she didn't like to practice or rehearse a song too much before recording, but you'll notice in recent years, going back to Taking Chances, she'll sit there and listen to a demo tape and mimic the exact way to sing the song. It's apparent in this video and the one that comes to mind most is Map to My Heart. She was coached on how to sing a certain phrase too in Surprise, Surprise. Is this typical for artists who don't write their own material? To copy the demo basically?

 

Depends on the songwriter, especially if they also want to (co-)produce their song. Then they're also present during the recording sessions. If not, it's up to the producer. Some songwriters are really adament for it to make it sound exactly how they intend it to be (with Kara Dioguardi as an extreme with 'Surprise, Surprise' lol).

 

A vous... i don't like it. It doesn't fit the rest.

 

It does kinda... like I said earlier, the Zaho songs stand out. They're a bit different than the rest, but she has 3 songs on the album, so it just blends...

It's impossible for me to judge now, hearing only 20-40 seconds samples. I'm eager to hear Ordinaire (I guess my impression will be the same as on TSMGO - I hated the production when I heard it first, but it has grown on me so much now that it's constantly in my headphones. Though I strongly hope the production is better anyway) and the down-tempo songs (the uptempos are a bit strange for me, but I really things a-là A Cause etc.). So that's the DVD we were waiting, and they included footage from the current tour. That's probably the reason why they finally cancelled it for the Deluxe Box, because they're still adding recent footage from the tour.

 

I hope it is included later in the rumoured November release, whatever it is

the thing I don't get is they could release a deluxe edition with a DVD with behind-the-scenes from the recording sessions of the album and later behind-the-scenes from the tour on a tour dvd... because it seems that if what we think is true (that this rerelease will have both footage from the recording sessions and from the tour) we will NOT get any dvd nor a cd of the FULL concert Edited August 20, 2016 at 06:10 PM by anewdayhascome

I think they are going to upload all this video to her Vevo channel next week, just like they did with Sans Attendre. In November they'll release the concert

yeah... I don't like that. Like there is nothing coming from her but the voice we love. I guess it's typical for someone who only comes to recording studio to record the vocal bits and goes back home. Remember she was recording during the toughest times possible...

 

I think I'm gonna love the opening song..

 

 

It depends on the producer. In the case of "Surprise, Surprise" I believe Celine even commented just how precise Kara wanted her to be with that song and said something like Kara should have recorded it herself (she wasn't being mean, just discussing how some producers it is give and take but Kara was very specific to the point Celine couldn't even hear the differences between what Kara wanted). In other songs, she has added little things and interpretations (like in, I believe) Water and a Flame, she added a run and E.G White said it took a boring part of a song and made it his favorite part).

So, sometimes maybe she is copying the demo for some unknown reason---maybe she just likes the demo---and sometimes it is the producer she works with who may want a precise sound and because she is a professional and more than capable she gives them the sound she wants and because she is creative she adds things when given the chance.

What more info could you expect at this point? The album is only a week away. We have a lot of information at this point. We shouldn't be expecting full leaks. We should be thankful as fans that there hasn't been one yet.

Soooo... I finally watched and I am DYING over Ma Faille and A Vous... I must hear more! I love the sound of Plus Qu'Ailleurs, really lets her voice shine through. I don't know about les Yeux Au Ciel yet, not enough Preview for me to decide. But the Zaho songs sound like fire!!!
