Slightly off topic.. but speaking of backup singers. Is it normal for solo acts to keep the same backup singesr for so long? Elise has been with her for around 30 years now, right? And Barnev has been with her for 22? Pretty impressive.

 

I love Elise (I think we all do) I do wish we heard more from her in duets but Celine doesn't have a lot of female duets. I love when they "duet" the end of On Ne Change Pas together. And I don't mind Barnev.. I know that's a fairly unpopular opinon around here but his voice doesn't bother me. He does backup vocals beautifully and while his solo voice isn't anything spectacular I don't think it's bad. I think he has such a warm smile and I always enjoy when he cracks up at Celine's antics.

See stuff like this being uploaded gives me hope that it will never end with things we haven't seen yet. Even if they are far apart nowadays it's always great when this type gets uploaded for the rest of us to see. Can't imagine how many recordings there are that hasn't seen the light yet. Awesome. :)

If they "click" with management and the artist I don't think it's that odd if they stay +10, +20 years. My guess is it has most to do if they agree with management not if they want to stay themselves so to speak. I mean it's their job and passion probably and they get lots of the fun with touring. And many don't want to be famous anyway so in that case they get all the fun and not the negatives.

From other bands/artists I listen to many have had the same band or backups for years. But I bet there are many cases where they change the lineup more frequently also.

I've always loved this performance... I had never seen the "extended version" where they all jump back into song after sitting down for the interview. Starts around 4:15. I also love the little exchange between Celine and JJG right before they jump back into song - I've always loved them together. So fun!

Or how much stuff is already on Youtube that just is sitting their with 10 or 100 views that we haven't discovered yet. It sucks that a lot of rare stuff gets taken off of Youtube though. Sigh.

I’m sure they make a lot of money being with someone like Celine as well. Scary Bradford left to try and be solo...we see where that got him lol.

 

Cher has had many of the same band members and dancers for quite a few years as well!

I loved Larry King’s interviews with Celine.

I watched his shows for years - both Larry King Live & Larry King Now.

He lived a very full 87 years. ❤️

I’m thankful to have his interviews on YouTube.
