Wow! I forgot that Bryan Adams can speak in French. I wonder if he sang any french songs before?

 

Maybe this has been discussed here in the past, but why does Bryan Adams say he wrote LTAL? I thought it was a cover of a JJG song. What was his part (besides maybe translating the lyrics)?

Well it's more of a re-write he did than a translation. The two songs are similar, but arranged quite differently and with different messages.

He wrote the English version of the lyrics. Also, the melody is a bit different so he also in charge of that.

I found this after falling down a Youtube hole earlier today.

 

It's good to see another live performance of this other than the Eurovision one and I love the more edgier sound. That final note is amazing!

 

She does seem to have a problem remembering the lyrics. Out of the 3 completely live (not lipped) performances I've seen she forgets the same lyrics in 2 of them. At least she remembered them on the big night in Dublin.

For a second, I thought this was the dress she wore for Carmen..due also to the same time period roughly.

There are 61 years of Grammys telecasts. That would be a lot of performances to go through and upload.

 

They could start with the programs that were shot on digital film. It shouldn't be that hard to put that up on YouTube if they wanted to. I get that it's a little bit of a job, but it's not that much. They could make it a weekly or monthly segment or something and take their time with it if they wanted to.

 

The only thing I take issue with is your use of the would "should." If you're ever in therapy, you learn to erase "should" do anything. No business or organization is required to do anything other than what the law states. Otherwise, telling a company they "should" do something is just a "want" that you personally have and you recognize you have no control over the company as you done own it. A company is perfectly within their rights to record their shows/performances but nothing states that they "should" or in any obligation to release said material.

 

Of course a company has the right to do whatever they want with their property. However, I still think they should upload old performances to YouTube. And just as every company has the right to do whatever they want with their property, I have the right to think they should upload it to YouTube. I can't force them to do anything, but I can have an option about it. What have they got to lose? Nothing. Grammy's (and a lot of other award shows for that matter) isn't exactly that relevant anymore, and it would be a nice way for them to stay somewhat relevant and honor legacy artists and music history.

Oh my! Wow! Someone please download before it's too late I went immediately to ABM and Power of the Dream... and her ABM sounded like one of the best one from that year! Too bad the audience cheered over her lol, but still the bit after the high note was amazing!

 

Edit: It's a weird deja vu for me seeing this again...because I know I've seen parts of it, not sure if I've seen the whole thing. I distinctly remember the "polaroid" feature they're using on their camera...oh the faultiness of memory lol

(1) FIY sessions are so great to have in full! I think her hairdo at 2:58 is one of her best, and she should use it more. Shorter and up.

 

(2) I've never seen Rene dance, or really move with much speed at all, so seeing him in the "Make You Happy" session was funny. He's usually so sloth-like lol.

 

(3) At 15:22 it looks like she's on the balcony of a NYC high-rise with a microphone! Was this for a possible music video, maybe of ABM?

 

(4) Side-note, for those who care to answer, do people find a young Humberto particularly attractive or are they neutral lol.
