totally loved the song, esspecially live. Loved this video too! I is indeed quite strange that some videos are not viewable in the states! Maybe send aldo a message?

 

Once things settle down on my end, I plan on it. I hope to get the letter sent off sometime in the next month.

You are right that both Les Petits Pieds de Lea and L'Enfant et La Mer might have not fared better on the charts. But they would have for sure shown another aspect of Celine. A soft side instead of the belting one. Plus lyrically they are good songs. Thought that the latter could have worked out anyway as a single from the Live album. It was very touching

Otherwise, for Quebec, Je N'ai pas besoin d'Amour would definitely have been a good single. Written by a respected Quebecer. It would have had some publicity at least.

For France I was disussing Si Je N'ai Rien De Toi with my boyfriend funnily He likes Celine without being a fan like me. He likes this song. I have to say that I enjoy the lyrics very much: giving it all for your love. But I do not like the instrumentation. Sound actually a bit like "Qui Peut Vivre Sans Amour" in the sense of bein a bit oldish. Maybe then the Johnny Halliday duet or Que Toi Au Monde which lyrics are so poignant and nice piano led ballad.

It's a cute idea, but she was talking about the dress in the video below, from the '97 Oscars. (this is a 1997 interview with Leno. The backwards tux was from 1999).

 

I actually remember watching her sing this in '97, long before I knew the story about the fight, and thinking the dress was too low-cut to be really classy. (Just my opinion; I'm sure most people feel differently).

 

I've long thought that Rene told her he loved the dress when she walked out wearing it because he was tired of fighting about what she was wearing, not because he loved the dress so much. Makes a cute story, though.

That has always frustrated me!! That backwards tuxedo was some pretty incredible fashion! If Sarah Jessica Parker had worn that to an event, people would've raved about how fabulous it is. However, because people hated Celine at that point because of MHWGO, she got dissed for it. Blerg!!

I don't think this isthe only time she has complemented that Celine outfit either. I think Joan Rivers liked Celine. Joan did occasionally pick fun at her a little, saying "Why the long face" and stuff like that because it's part of her job to pick fun and make jokes, but for the most part I think she had great respect for Celine.

 

Joan even mentioned Celine in one of her very last episodes of Joan and Melissa Joan Knows Best. Joan wanted a hologram just like the one in Celine's Vegas show, so that she could be in two places at once. Joan was always so busy and she thought that if she had a hologram of herself, she could do multiple comedy acts and appearances at once. LOL.

 

I can't remember exactly what she said about Celine in the episode, but she complemented Celine's show and she also called Celine a tall skinny little B word. LOL. In the nicest way of course.
