For what it's worth, I think they're just very different singers, each gifted in her own way. Celine has a magnificent instrument, probably greater range and power and flexibility (I'm no vocal expert, but it seems that way), and an unparalleled command of the stage and ability to connect with the audience.

 

Adele is an incredibly talented songwriter, with an amazing ability to craft original, genuine songs that tell emotional stories that resonate with people -- and her delivery and interpretation are so perfect for the songs she's written, so it just heightens that emotional resonance.

 

For me, certain Adele songs -- like When We Were Young -- are a rare blend of meaningful, poetic lyrics with a melody and a delivery that perfectly support the lyrical meaning to create a moment where I really *feel* the emotion of what's being sung in a way that can bring me to tears -- something I've also seen in a few of the songs JJG has written for Celine, but that's really rare.

i like some songs but in the end , she always sing about the past, i,m like Celine , i live in the present. Nothing to do with her voice, she is a pleasant singer most of the time, but nothing to take my breath away in the moment. But i am not closed about her. And what about we all do this is a nice way without hurting anyone's feeling? I guess we can all understand that being a Celine fan does not prevent you from liking other artists. So what about we avoid useless sarcasms and mean comments about others artists while enjoying videos about Celine?

Of course you can like any artist you choose that's your decision. I also like many artists, and I hardly Adele would think I'm "hurting her feelings" and if I am, she can wipe her tears with her golden tissue paper. I stated my feelings and thoughts and that's NOT going to change whether you like it or not, I will always call something how I see it. So call me a moron or crazy or whatever that's your choice and it's my choice to say what I feel about a matter that is being talked about.

Ιnstead of making remarks on what peple do or on what they should be doing, please move on and discuss whatever you want to discuss. Nothing is stopping you. I take part in this argument and I still have posted and discussed more videos the past week than both of you have.

I did not say that in a competitive way. You took my comment out of context. The point of what I said is that since the person (me) who was in an argument could post videos and discuss them, then you could do that too. Instead you did not comment on any video. You did not post any video. You just came to criticise the fact that two members were arguing.

 

I have had enough of this forum too. There is freedom of speech. Learn to respect it. I will not deal with people who call me names for posting my opinion, and I will not take the oversensitiveness of those who complain about threads that go out of topic when I have to defend myself. All in all it was a video that started the discussion.

Look I know what you mean, and I agree with you. To a certain extent. But this particular "discussion" was going round in circles. All I wanted was to get those involved to just put an end to it. Yes discuss videos but don't go on and on about it - when it results in name calling and bitching. That's what I'm fed up with. And that's why I posted - thought I did it quite politely actually. Obviously, going by your reaction, I shouldn't post. So after this actual post, I shan't get involved again. Let you all carry on.
