I always wonder why Celine doesn't write her own songs? She's been in this industry for 4 decades have sung countless songs. She must have had a lot of ideas.

 

 

Do you think she will write songs for herself for her last album? Or maybe next? Still have hopes that she writes a song for Text For You

She didn't write THLAL - that from Diana King, for crying out loud. There's a difference between riffing in an interview, singing a line of something being silly - which Celine does constantly - and sitting down and writing an entire song. No, she won't ever. And you know why...because she's not a songwriter. She's a singer.

When Meryl Streep wins an Oscar does anyone ask her why she didn't write the screenplay? The shaming Celine receives for not being a songwriter is clearly due to statements Mariah made years ago about why other divas don't write their own songs. It's because they are singers whose talent lies in being able to interpret and sing the hell out of those lyrics. Songs on paper mean nothing unless they have a stellar performer to bring them to life. We've seen this time and time again with covers Celine has performed that were relatively unknown before her.

 

Furthermore, English is not her native language and she has said before that writing in French is even harder. Who the hell cares? She has allowed so many songwriters' dreams to come true by including their work on her album. Kara DioGuardi said it well, "any writer who gets their song sung by Celine has hit the career jackpot."

As forMariah, she literally destroyed Celine's career with stupid indirect accusations. If she doesn't write her own song it's fine(altho we know she can), no one cared until someone accused her of it. Yeah, Mariah, i can play indirect accusations too.

I think Courage is very loved album. Whoever listens to it enjoys it. The problem being it's not discovered by the public much. If it was, and of TC play it's card right(they still can btw), Courage could reach a lot of people. Its songs are relatable and not the same cheesy thing we accept from Celine, they are perfect modern TikTok songs.

Change my mind has now surpassed 1 million views on youtube, her 10th song from the album to do so, next one will be most likely the hard way...

 

I find it amazing, courage is the most listened album on youtube of Celine overall, before the 90's albums like LTAL or FIY, with having the most views as a whole album. All her other albums were released on youtube in the same year as courage and of course the hits stand out but when we compare the albums, courage is leading. It obviously is appreciated by her fans which are listening to her on youtube
