Fact is: it is the worst management phase of their entire career. No innovation. No surprise. Not even a minimum of communication.

So much power and talent in her voice. But not enough brains in management support.

My comment will probably be hated, but...

 

She and Rene should have just forgotten about family and friends things and hire a good commercial team.

 

I have nothing against Montreal and its people... I think they have very talented individuals, such as those in Moment Factory (their work with "Celine" show was good, and I loved how they created MDNA tour for Madonna... I am not sure whether Celine has worked with them since then).

 

But I think Celine had too many people around only because they were somehow "close."

 

For example, Mego. His arrangements were usually boring and outdated. He never was truly creative to mix songs or changed their arrangement from tour to tour. I remember how we all complained how he always killed uptempo songs. Scott is much better, and I think a younger guy could be even more creative.

 

Same goes for other members of her team.

 

Many will disagree, but I sometimes want Celine to be a commercial *CENSORED* like Madonna or Mariah. Not because of money or success, but because it is truly good for us fans. Mariah's fans are getting old footage every year, audio book, music videos, etc. etc. etc. I don't listen to Mariah, I dont care whether her album was a flop, but I am jealous of her fans who get so much. Why can't Celine have an eras like Madonna when she is totally different (both in music and style, now that she loves fashion so much) and release all the stuff for us. It literally doesn't require her to do anything because cameras are already everywhere she goes (and for the style, she loves changing clothing anyway).

I don't think Celine has any idea of how to handle her business. And I don't said that as an excuse: she should know! We can blame her team, her label, her producers, her writers... But, at the end of the day, it's her business and she should have control over it.

 

Rene kept her out of everything (again, her fault not his). She must live in a bubble until this day with people telling her what to do.

 

I think Courage was supposed to come and break this pattern but something went wrong along the way. Maybe she tried to get control but didn't know how (she looked a little piss off about the album's delays).

 

Just guessing here, but Celine is on a fase on her career that she has to put up a fight to make things done (they all do, Celine, Mariah, Madonna... they're just not priorities anymore). And I'm not sure Celine knows how to do it. That can be exhausting and explain her lack of passion. It's just too hard.

Why should she know? Rene took care of business since she was 12!!!

She has learned some aspects of managing the business but when you start managing, there is a risk of losing passion for the actual music aspect. That might be what's going on. Too much for her to handle and now she needs someone she can really thrust to take care of business. Let's hope she can find a good manager, not just any manager though. A manager who is the right fit for HER.

Having two teams would also be a disaster as the consistency in how they work would be totally off. She definitely needs the same people to manage both sides of her career.
