I'm suprised how little we know about this album, if it's coming that soon. They are really keeping things tight lipped this time. I'm getting excited.

I actually hope we won't learn much more about the album and it will all be a huge surprise when it's released :)

 

I think what Beyonce did was awesome, just dropping an album without ANY Warning!

 

But still, looking forward to a new album is always exciting

Hope it's true, but not getting my hopes up just yet (we all know how things can change when it comes to Céline).....

 

We should at least get an official announcement later this month and a lead single next month at its latest.

Maybe they're trying to keep her in the press which is why it's coming much sooner then we expected... and with the line coming in at Nordstrom, they probably wanted to cash in off of that too. It doesn't surprise me, but like others said, I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.

I rather have a new christmas album, than a new english record *oops*

 

I would LOVE to have a english/french christmas album, and maybe one day a english/french record how cool would that be! :wub:

 

What's the story behind the david foster songs? Can't remember

 

I definately want another Xmas album (with mostly new songs - including the 5 by David Foster which are still hidden away in a vault), but first a new English album.

 

Or maybe her new manager will discover something that is called an "EP"........

Well but I wonder if they're saying that Columbia Records hasn't released one since 2013... because doesn't Sony Music release her french albums?

Given the amount of press she's had this year (and positive at that) from VOGUE to countless others sources; she'd be crazy not to release an album..

 

Her only major competition genre wise may be Shania. And she's more country but crosses over the AC line too.

 

If they're smart they'd include "How Does a Moment last forever" in the hopes it's nominated for an Oscar come February. If she performs it on the show will boost the album somewhat in a slumpish season.

 

Hoping for an October rather than November release this time though. Gives more time for sales. If a Q4 release is true we may get a single late this month! :) :) :)

I'd love Recovering to be on it also. I adore that song and was the only song I sang along to at the concert lol

Sadly I think her popularity won't necessarily translate into great sales for new material. Revisiting old material with new eyes would probably work much better (if sales success is the objective).

 

It's not necessarily what I want myself, but I think her best shot at big (or even huge) success would be an album with really hot, current remixes of her old songs. It just fits: People are rediscovering her but for being who she's always been. And there's definitely a big nostalgia factor there as well.

I want a new album produced by David Foster. It's obvious that we can't back to 90's, but "that Celine" is there still... A completely new album produced by Foster, with songs of Diane Warren, Linda Perry... it would be incredible!

Sounds kinda nice, if those 10 "oldies" are from 2002-now

But a completely new album is also good

Dolly Parton's 2016 album Pure and Simple had 12 new tracks and 14 tracks Live from Glastonbury. This would be my favourite format- that way we get new stuff and old stuff, fabulously and recently live. Edited by stevo
