To be honest, most of Celine's english songs I wouldn't listen if were sung by any other singer.

But her voice makes magic, her interpretation makes a cheesy lyric sound meaningful and poetic.

Exactly. It's her voice and her interpretation that elevates the song to a whole new level. In fact, one of the judges in a talent show (I can't remember who. Maybe Simon Cowell but not really sure). After one of the contestant sang Celine's song, he said something like that Celine Dion's song mostly boring and cheesy lyrically. But it's her voice that makes the song really great.

I think Simon Cowell doesn't like Celine's style of music, always when someone talks about Celine he makes faces and mouths as if he doesn't like it.

I don't think celine's music is cheesy, what I see is an implication for people with the success it makes.

I think it’s pure jealousy, because she is admired and highly successful with what she does and they can only dream about it

I LURVE Celine with all my heart...but the gurl’s music is the definition of cheesy. CHEES-Y. With a capital C. Hallmark card lyrics style cheesy.

Let’s all be honest. Gurl’s lyrics are cheesy. The melodies stick with you and her voice elevates everything she sings to another level. That’s why they always tell people not to sing Celine songs on American Idol and the like. The songs are mediocre. Celine is a star.

Shania Twains lyric are by far more cheesy. I think there is more art or depth in Celines lyrics if you compare it to Shanias.

I know, right?! I do too! A New Day Has Come is one of my favorite songs. I play it all the time. But it's cheesy as hell. I think most people who know me would call me a big ol' cheeseball also. It's a perfectly acceptable way to be!

I don’t think Celines songs are on the same level as Shanias. Shania is much more cheesy overall. Celine is somewhat cheesy or rather dramatic when it comes to love, but even then it appears artistic (touched by an angel with love vs. I wish that I could grow a beard).

 

I think there is a difference between cheap-cheesy and overly dramatic-/classic-cheesy. Moreover, Celines interpretation and the production of Celine songs is always top notch and sound phenomenal despite the lyric.

I judge Ziggy by its original lyrics, not the translation. Her French to English translated songs really suffer in translation, so I'm glad she didn't translate encore un soir

Yep, the translation was bad. "I'm so crazy for him" would have been better. But I prefer the French version anyway.

But why? Is something going to change/is anyone really going to care if that occurs. All this “how many views does a video have” thing is so silly. I don’t know mean to offend. I just totally don’t get some people’s fascination with the YouTube views on video. It’s so meaningless.

For the same reason why we came to this Forum even when there’s no news related to Celine.

Personally, I still want to believe that if she has more views on YouTube, more material related to her will be released on that platform. It's just my opinion.

After all, what does an artist without the support of his/her fans?

I agree, ist is meaningless because the number of views of the videos mentioned are almost nothing compared to the MVs of current singers. Whether it is 6 or 7 million views...it is simply irrelevant in a landscape where Taylor Swift’’s exile (feat. Bon Iver) (Official Lyric Video) has 16 mio views in just 2 weeks and that is a lyric video!

 

I mean, let‘s be thankful that we got some videos this time but counting the low number of views or trying to increase them by 10-20k is useless. Instead of riding a dead horse let’s pray for new material soon💐
