Well, with 1 additional day’s sales, Loved Me Back To Life was at 16k in its first midweek update - so it’s about par. My worry here is that she doesn’t have a hit single or any promotion this time to keep sales stable, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this falls to #3 or #4 by the end of the week.

She did that magnificent concert in Hyde Park.

Hopefully the album will continue to grow / catch fire in the coming weeks.

Yeah, but with almost no promo...

 

For LMBTL she was there and did a lot more (and it showed).

Actually 12k in the UK in three days is not that bad without much promo.

Mariah sold just over 3k in the first full week last November and Madonna sold 25k in June. Let's see what the final official number is at the end of the week.

Man I miss the good old days when a chart was a chart. I cant keep up with how the album is charting because there are so many different ones!!! Spotify, apple, shes number 1 on this site and number 400 on another!! I'm too old for this s*** (is perfect)

You just have to worry about the official numbers in each country, such as Billboard for the US. Spotify, Apple, etc. are just one component (streaming or sales equivalent) of the final sales figures.

I don't think that's entirely precise. Those 40 million must include the streams for the 4 songs that were released earlier.

Well that's how it works for everyone. No wonder why many acts release many songs ahead of an album release. All those streams count towards the charts.

after a lot of listens I kinda like this new album, but I have few thoughts-

This is the first time ever I feel she didn't re-touched her sound like we used to get with every release:

ANDHC was huge divaesque production with grandious sound

OH was pure middle stream pop

TC rocky and edgy

LMBTL so called cool and modern

but I dont feel Courage brings anything new, and maybe that's good? Idk. It's just a hot mess with beautiful lyrics but zero sound vision.

 

Her best ever album still stays Taking Chances for me. Fade Away, Shadow of Love, A World to Believe In, Surprise Surprise etc it feels much more alive and Celinish than entire Courage.

As much as I can't stand ticket master I think this is an AEG issue . They didn't send out vip packed until after show . I was really hoping to have the laynard before the show . Now the cd is taking forever too

 

True. This morning though I got an email from Ticketmaster with a personal apology for the delay and then an hour later my CD was shipped so harassing them did work lol!!

Rubbish numbers in the UK. I shouldn’t care about chart positions but I do. She needed to be here this week. Sony can only do so much. They’ve got the single on Radio 2, the album is album of the week on there too. There’s an advert playing on TV regularly. They needed Celine to be here.

 

I’m extremely surprised by the lacklustre “in person” promo plan all around for this album and looking at her tour schedule I can’t see any happening to be honest. She’s highly unlikely to travel and do promotion over the Christmas period.

Maybe she was supposed to go to the UK during this break but due to the postponed shows she can't make it. Who knows?

But even if she would have made it to the UK, she wouldn't sell more than those huge numbers from Westlife. She would still end up at #2 or #3 so might as well aim for longevity rather than the biggest numbers for week 1.

I'm a little paranoid that if they forget to ship then the redeemed albums won't count towards this first week's sales. Hopefully that's not true. But anyone who has the chance to redeem their copy from buying a concert ticket, DO IT!

Celine has another little break starting on November 23. Hopefully she'll squeeze in a few more appearances to promote the album during that time.

i think many forget that she had to reschedule some montreal shows for this week which was probably set aside for promo

It’s incredible to think that Hyde Park + tickets sold for the UK leg of the Courage tour total approx 200,000 tickets but so far just 6% of people who’ve bought a tour ticket have bought the album!

So true. I suppose some of the current popularity is about 90's nostalgia, at least in the UK and at least amongst those of us who were teenagers in the 90's! Sadly new music won't necessarily tap into that.

 

Sales may pick up though or at least may be steady for a few weeks yet.

I had the album on repeat for the last couple of days, I can say I haven't been this happy with her work since I don't know...Taking Chances!

The skip song ratio is almost not there! LOL I pretty much like ALL the songs! (I can only do this with a few albums like FIY or TCOML, not skipping a song or waiting for the next track is something I thought was gone (LMBTL...My, I can only listen to two songs...)

 

 

BTW...Don't youu think "Perfect Goodbye" is about a extramarital relationship? like she is saying goodbye to her affair? it really suits the song this theme...
