LukeD Posted November 17, 2019 at 06:31 PM Posted November 17, 2019 at 06:31 PM (edited) The positive feedback on twitter and other social media is astonishing for a Celine album! Remember when songs leaked you were happy I liked them? You kind of said you trusted my reaction? Happy I was proven right. The album is amazing and people love it!So, continuing on from my earlier review, here's some song-by-song commentary. I initially had these rated on a 10-point scale but then decided I didn't like the anchoring effect of that, so let's just say my initial buckets still stand. Courage, Perfect Goodbye and Boundaries are among the best English songs of her career, and while there are some misses here, it's definitely her strongest English album from the lyrical standpoint. Consistently substantial lyrics, which has not been the case in the past. Gone, too, are the affectations that made her previous English work difficult to stomach at times (like the incessant "Ooooh baby baby" interjected everywhere!) Aside from the annunciation that has already been pointed out by others, her delivery here is much more authentic than in previous records; excellent performances throughout and a lot more of the intimacy & vulnerability we're used to in her French work. Happy to see we agree on Perfect Goodbye, Boundaries and Courage! And I agree this is her strongest English album in terms of lyrical content and intimacy! Also the album cover. At least you’ll finally have a first number one album in the United States since ANDHC!!!This matters a lot more than a #1 in UK. Plus she will be #1 worldwide. And UK will normally support the album anyway - this was the case with TC, ML, LMBTL. Edited November 17, 2019 at 06:32 PM by LukeD 3 Quote

On the back of all this promo she’s got scheduled? I suspect it’ll plummet before long, lost in the Q4 rush of new releases. 1 Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?

It's a boy band that went their separate ways and now they are back together so fans are more than excited. And they have promoted their album big time, something Celine hasn't done in the UK yet. isabel leite Posted November 17, 2019 at 06:44 PM Posted November 17, 2019 at 06:44 PM I think she has always said she is open to it. That's not really new. And I don't think that Rene being ill for so long has made it easier for her to move on. The way she still talks about him nearly 4 years down the line just goes to show the connection she still feels to him. I just hope she doesn't feel pressured into finding someone new. She is asked about this in almost every iinterview. It is ok if she is never ready. I would hate to see her in and out of pointless relationships like other celebrities. As she said in the Radio 2 interview in September, Rene has given her enough love that she could go on alone with the kids for the rest of her life. I have to say that one of the things that really called my attention is how and how many times she mentions Rene. I believe that she mentioned him at every interview. What really struck me is how she does that. It would be quite natural to talk about him,but It's always in such a deep and personal way. She recreates their dialogues, things she said to him, she always makes it clear that she feels him and that he lives within her. I thought it was very interesting when she said that she feels the happiest when she sleeps with the twins and they talk to Rene. Her connection to him is still so strong. I for one believe that this will go on for quite some time. Well as she said their love was 'unique' I do have to add that i was a little surprised at how much the twins look like him. When she says 'I see him everyday through the eyes of my children' she is not kidding! I think that she must be a little tired of people asking her when and if she will move on. I have been a Celine fan for many years, and one of the things that I admire the most is the fact that she dances to the beat of her own drum. She won't be pressured to start a relationship because people are asking. When and if she does you can believe that she is ready to do so. I just wish her to be happy. It can be with someone new, or alone with her children, it really doesn't matter as long as she is ok. 3 Quote

Popular Post isabel leite Posted November 17, 2019 at 06:59 PM Popular Post Posted November 17, 2019 at 06:59 PM I am totally in love with this album. To me Celine has always been about making people feel emotions. Every track on this makes you feel a different one. You can feel happy, sad, inspired, lost, etc.... She has bared her soul to us. These songs are all the emotions that she is going through. I am so proud of her. She really showed us what courage is all about. 8 Quote
stevo Posted November 17, 2019 at 07:03 PM Posted November 17, 2019 at 07:03 PM Can someone provide a timeline of the outlined promo for US and UK? I think we had her only UK promo on Good Morning Britain on Friday morning at the crack of dawn when no-one would have seen it (no performances/ music played etc) 🤷🏻♂️ Westlife got big Sunday night final of Strictly Come Dancing (UK version of Dancing with the Stars- she mimed Breakaway on it last time for LMBTL promo) I don’t think we’re getting anything else in the UK 1 Quote
ryba Posted November 17, 2019 at 07:11 PM Posted November 17, 2019 at 07:11 PM (edited) Last time when she was in NY to promote EUS in 2016 I had the feeling that she was literally everywhere. She owned all attention for 3 days. She was hosting a talk show, she gave a short concert for GMA, she was on Fellon. But this time she was more reserved and didn’t really use this time for „aggressive“ promo. Edited November 17, 2019 at 07:12 PM by ryba Quote
giannislyber Posted November 17, 2019 at 07:19 PM Posted November 17, 2019 at 07:19 PM After the Montreal shows she has a week off. Maybe they have planned some more promo apart from a well deserved break. 2 Quote
smw Posted November 17, 2019 at 07:39 PM Posted November 17, 2019 at 07:39 PM Can someone provide a timeline of the outlined promo for US and UK? I'd love to see this too. I bet she'll do another round of promo in the coming months. She's not necessarily chasing #1. She's chasing longevity. But hopefully we'll get #1, longevity, and Grammys!! I'd still LOVE for her to be on the Kelly Clarkson Show, Jimmy Kimmel, SNL, The Voice, etc. But I do trust her and her team. Things have gone beautifully so far. Celine is in control and she's pacing herself. And most importantly -- the album is stunning. 6 Quote

However, id hazard if it hd been Celines first album in 12 years she’d be in that position too It’s their first album in 9 years, Celine’s first in 6 years - so not massively different. They’ve nailed the promo game, she hasn’t - so it’s just circumstances playing out. Had she bothered to promote the record a bit, she’d be doing better - as it stands, she’s probably looking at a first week of 20-25k which is pretty crap. 1 Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?

Shaun Posted November 17, 2019 at 07:52 PM Posted November 17, 2019 at 07:52 PM I’m gutted to learn she’s being so comprehensively outsold in the UK. mirage Posted November 17, 2019 at 07:57 PM Posted November 17, 2019 at 07:57 PM We agree on these 3 songs. The lyrics in Perfect Goodbye is a bit repetitive, but it works so good. Her voice is pure heaven. Even her pronunciation on 'memowie' is forgivable I so so so hope she will add these to the setlist. Perfect Goodbye with Scott on the piano, the strings And Boundaries instead of Imagine. Just piano and Céline with the microphone standard, spotlight on her, the rest dark. Owh yes please So, continuing on from my earlier review, here's some song-by-song commentary. Kyle_Jared Posted November 17, 2019 at 08:24 PM Posted November 17, 2019 at 08:24 PM Here in Canada she'll be #1 for sure. I'm actually guessing she'll do a number close the USA figure! (I purchased two copies One for car; one for home and now i just need the vinyl. In UK Westlife will outsell her. If Celine did the X-Factor and Strictly they'd STILL outsell her, but i'd venture to guess her total would be double what it's going to be. Wayne I think we'll see closer to 40K in sales for the UK anything less I'd be disappointed. 2 Quote
