TommKat22 Posted November 19, 2019 at 04:01 AM Posted November 19, 2019 at 04:01 AM Are these numbers good? I saw that she's slated to debut at #1...is this still the case? Also, I've been streaming on my smartphone for the last 72 hours with the volume down to get her numbers up. I also kept it on through the weekend on my office computer. Every bit helps Perfect! I've been doing the same while I sleep, and putting the album on a loop. We gotta do what we can! Quote Tommy
scielle Posted November 19, 2019 at 06:25 AM Posted November 19, 2019 at 06:25 AM New additions in bold below. Well, since it seems my thread intended to aggregate reviews has been in new thread purgatory for the better part of a week now, I've given up on it ever getting opened and will just post here. If you find others, can you respond to this thread so we can at least try to keep it all in one place? There are quite a few major outlets that haven't published anything, which I find somewhat surprising, seeing as no matter where you stand on Celine, it's one of the most anticipated albums of the year. scielle Posted November 19, 2019 at 06:28 AM Posted November 19, 2019 at 06:28 AM (edited) Re. the above - I'm quite surprised some major outlets haven't published reviews.Something like Entertainment Weekly, Billboard (a proper review, not a 3-sentence snippet), some of the major Canadian newspapers media outlets like Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, CBC... even Montreal Gazette didn't have a review.Either they don't care enough (which is odd, for a highly-anticipated release), or they're waiting for something. Question is... what?? It seems there are interviews recorded that are still to be released (surely she filmed more than GMB, 50min Inside and Watch What Happens Live over those 2 days in NYC last week). I really do think there's a 2nd wave of promo coming, it's just it was temporarily derailed by the rescheduled Montreal shows. Sony knew the tour bundle will give the album the necessary pop in week 1 - most of the heavy lifting now needs to be done in subsequent weeks. This is why I think we're not done with promo. scielle Posted November 19, 2019 at 06:40 AM Posted November 19, 2019 at 06:40 AM It's incredible to think that Hyde Park + tickets sold for the UK leg of the Courage tour total approx 200,000 tickets but so far just 6% of people who've bought a tour ticket have bought the album! It's not that incredible. I mean, I probably wouldn't buy the physical album if it didn't come with my (numerous) ticket purchases here in North America. That's what my Spotify and Amazon subscriptions are for, and I don't have anything to play a CD on. And I'm 7,464 (!!!) posts into a Celine fan forum and work at a music label. It's not inconceivable that someone less fanatical wouldn't buy the album either... Plus UK is much more of a streaming market than a territory like, say, Japan. 1 Quote

Popular Post marc-02 Posted November 19, 2019 at 10:51 AM Popular Post Posted November 19, 2019 at 10:51 AM https://www.cavalierdaily.com/article/2019/11/celine-dion-is-courageously-honest-on-new-album Celine Dion is courageously honest on new album “Courage” is singer’s best work to date. By Darryle Aldridge | 11/18/2019 Céline Dion, pictured here with late husband René Angélil in 2012, explores moving on from grief in latest release.Courtesy Georges Biard (Wikimedia Commons) Céline Dion has done the unthinkable — she has reached her artistic peak, 40 years into her career. With five Grammys, four number-one Billboard singles and two diamond albums, it would seem there is nothing left for Dion to do but rest on her laurels. However, the “Because You Loved Me” singer lets listeners know there is one thing she has not done — bare her soul. On her twelfth English-language studio album “Courage,” she does just this. The past three years for Dion have been tumultuous and transformative. In 2016 she lost both her brother Daniel Dion and her husband and longtime manager, René Angélil, to cancer just days apart. Dion takes her experiences and channels them into the album, crafting her most personal project to date. On a Facebook Live, Dion said, “I think I went through a lot. And life had given me the tools… to find my inner strength, to find courage and to keep going.” This strength is evident through every aspect of the album from the production to the lyrics. “Courage” is the most modern and cohesive album from her discography. Numerous producers, including production team The Stereotypes and Jimmy Nape, worked on the album. Despite working with various producers, "Courage" flows seamlessly. The producers also lend a modern sound to the album. This is most evident with the two opening tracks — “Flying on my Own” and “Lovers Never Die.” The former is an energetic EDM and House influenced song featuring jaunty keys and a pulsating beat drop. “Lovers Never Die” sounds like a trap remix of a James Bond theme with its twinkling keys and dramatic strings. Dion tackles contemporary music trends on “Courage,” and she does so with ease. Lyrically, the album finds the chanteuse at her most vulnerable. Dion utilizes many other artists as songwriters on “Courage.” Writers such as Skylar Grey, Sam Smith, Sia and Greg Kurstin perfectly capture where the singer is at in her life. Dion has always sung of love and heartbreak, but with “Courage,” the typical subject matter of her lyrics is replaced by intimate and personal songs touching on topics like loss, self-love and empowerment. The two standout tracks on the album are “Falling in Love Again” and “How Did You Get Here.” “Falling in Love Again” is a tender piano ballad about rediscovering love after the loss of her husband. The opening lines — “When the sun went down on that day / I never thought that love would come back to me” — are some of the most honest in all of her career. There is no ambiguity to these lyrics. Dion is sharing a new side of herself, letting fans into the intimate details of her life. “How Did You Get Here” is an uptempo doo-wop style song with bouncy piano chords and horns. Lyrically, the song finds Dion expressing her reservations about beginning a new relationship. What truly brings the song together is the gospel-influenced background vocals. They turn a generic throwback song into something with soul and sass. The album cover of “Courage” shows Dion walking away from a blazing fire seemingly unscathed. This is an accurate representation not only of the album, but of where the singer is in life. She has encountered major changes in her life and career but does not let this hold her back. Instead, she puts her experiences into her art by working with new producers and being more vulnerable than ever before. Such artistic growth at this stage in her career truly takes “Courage.” 8 Quote
Your_Su_Phu Posted November 19, 2019 at 11:55 AM Posted November 19, 2019 at 11:55 AM (edited) I just came across that photo on instagram, love her style so much but just wanted to show u the difference between real hair and a wig like the one Celine's wearing I mean it’s so obvious and I can’t understand how her hair dresser convinced her that it’s not showing, she always wore wigs since 2007 but never was that unprofessional, second of all the style has to change its getting boring Meanwhile all over Instagram and twitter there have been hundreds of comments from casual fans and nonfans in awe at her bob look, some of these comments garnering thousands of likes. The bad taste that reeks from this forum sometimes..:X Edited November 19, 2019 at 11:57 AM by Your_Su_Phu 3 Quote
Bell Posted November 19, 2019 at 12:55 PM Posted November 19, 2019 at 12:55 PM I listened to the new album and loved it. It has songs that really stand out when it comes to sound and production (Loves Never Die, Lying Down, Look At Us Now) and I like the use of effects very much. They compliment the songs. The effects don't take over, they are just a nice background to what really matters. The sound is modern and radio friendly, and yet we have quality which seems to be rare in pop music nowadays. I can hear the influence of other artists like Sia and Adele but Celine certainly does it better. We probably get to hear her whole vocal range on this album which is great. There are songs that are touching and meaningful when it comes to lyrics (Say Yes and I Will Be Stronger are my personal favouites) and I think For The Lover That I Lost is one of her most emotional performances ever. There are also songs that are light and fun. The album offers variety and shows Celine's vocal versatility. The best thing about it is the feeling I get while listening. I feel the same when I listen to Mariah Carey singing R'n'B. It shows that she enjoys it. It's a feeling of freedom and happiness. 3 Quote 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER

marc-02 Posted November 19, 2019 at 04:31 PM Posted November 19, 2019 at 04:31 PM https://m.hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=318821 Tuesday, November 19, 2019 SONY'S BIG WEEK Sony Music had itself a memorable week, lighting up the scoreboard with awards-show wins, chart-toppers and the inking of highly sought-after talent, all in the space of a few days in mid-November For starters, Luke Combs delivered the biggest country debut of the year last week with his sophomore release, What You See Is What You Get (River House/Columbia Nashville). The momentum of Randy Goodman’s Sony Music Nashville carried into the CMAs, as Combs took home Song of the Year for “Beautiful/Crazy,” while labelmate Maren Morris earned a biggie, winning Album of the Year. The day after the CMAs, Sony’s Rosalía won big at the Latin Grammy Awards, taking home four trophies, including Album of the Year. Meanwhile, Afo Verde’s (above left) Sony Music Latin made a big score, inking Ozuna in conjunction with Brad Navin's (above right) The Orchard. Sony Latin leads the U.S. with a commanding 48% share of the Latin market. Two major new pop signings also went down, as the race to ink a pair of indie chart-climbers resulted in a double win. Ron Perry’s Columbia inked Arizona Zervas, and David Massey’s Arista signed Ant Saunders. Both breakthrough acts are already impacting the marketplace. Looking forward, Sony is setting up Harry Styles’ eagerly anticipated sophomore LP, Fine Line (Columbia), which drops on 12/13, set up by his marquee SNL appearance over the weekend. Epic also has a big December release booked, with Camila Cabello’s Romance dropping 12/6. And this week, Sony is looking at another #1, with Celine Dion’s Courage (Columbia) heading for a bow north of 120k units. 2 Quote
