2 more days to Courage the wait is over soon... I've pre-ordered Deluxe edition from iTunes and Japan version from CDJapan never listen to the leaks (except the 4 tracks officially released), I prefer to enjoy the album as a whole when released

Does anybody know if the standard edition has a booklet. I read the deluxe doesn't, only the poster, but what about the standard?

Standard has a booklet but we don't know if it also has lyrics or whatever. Amazon mentions it in their descriptions for the discs anyway.

I don't like to complain but I will be VERY VERY VERY upset if the album doesn't include the lyrics. If I buy physical albums, it's almost only for the lyrics...... Are you SURE that the deluxe edition doesn't include lyrics? Edited November 13, 2019 at 10:02 AM by noyau

I am not hoping for a Céline song to go number 1 on the charts for x weeks. I know those days are over.

 

What I would like however is that some songs from each new album gets enough attention from the GP for her to add it into her live reportoire. It is so sad that her setlist contains of songs from 20 years ago plus covers (even though she has recorded plenty new songs). So I wish for that + that she gets well deserved recogniction nowadays for her music.

 

As far as album promo goes, the long tracklist makes me optimistic that Sony might be on the right track. This “see what sticks to the wall” mentality might turn out to be a pretty good marketing strategy if they play their cards right. The days of ANDHC media blitz and IACBTMN-budget videos is long past. I could see them releasing a new single every three months throughout the duration of the tour, along with a new low-budget (well, aside from couture) fashion-shoot music video, a steady stream of social media posts and major TV promos — slow and steady along the way.

 

I know people like blame Sony for every bizarre single choice and career misstep in the past, but let’s not forget that René was pulling the strings too — and both teams have modernized in the past 20 years. Personally, I’m setting low expectations in my mind for chart performance and streams and choosing to be pleasantly surprised if things take off. Eventually, one of them may go viral and then people might discover “Oh hey, she’s got a slew of new songs/videos I’ve not heard/seen” and the stream them all at once. THEN hopefully we can get a new song added to the setlist!!!

Guys, I am sorry to break it down to some of you, but Celine will never have a hit single again, unless she releases a duet with a hot act in their 20s. Simple as. And when I talk about a hit single, I am referring to a song charting high on Billboard Hot 100. And hopefully high on charts of other major markets. These usually follow US.

 

Again sorry for being negative, but I see loads of theorizing in terms of what song is catchy, what song might be a flop and so on. It barely matters. What she needs is awareness. She needs to make the public aware that she has an album out which features moderns songs and ballads. Promoting and performing Courage is a very good option, especially considering how conservative the US market has proven to be. LMBTL sold a career low of 300k copies there. Extremely low. Her only studio album not to be certified. Not even gold. Was its lead single catchy? Yes. Was it modern? Yes. Did it flop? Yes.

 

And this was in 2013. It is 2019 now. Celine is 51. We need to move on from the mentality of Celine chasing hits. Unless we enjoy being disappointed.

Some might see it as negative. I see it as being realistic!

Then i could better order a digital copy: no it is nice to have a neat booklet with photos and lyrics. that is what you expect when buying an old fashioned cd. not including these is just stupid. Yes we can find the lyrics online but it is not the same as a printed booklet that you read while listening to the new songs

The press is praising Imperfections, Heart of Glass, and I don't understand why Sony doesn't think about releasing Heart of Glass as a single, and even a music video.

May be Courage's release is because of Christmas, the music fits better, they should release LD when she's in Europe.

When I read that earlier today I thought "aha, a man after my own heart"! He opens with all the same back-catalogue songs I would have pointed to as her best English work. Probably my favorite review so far; informed, well-written, acknowledges her French work.
