I think she looks wonderful!

Courage video was ok. Loved the parts wher she was walking towards the bright screen and later her "dancing" silhoutte in front of it.

 

In some odd way this video made the music stand out a bit more than just hearing the track, it was almost like there was some alteration to the arrangements.

 

To me the teary eyes at the end was a bit too much. And when the text came on the black backdrop I thought it was gonna be an empowering message or some hommage to René but it was only who the director was...

I think promoting Courage (the song) now would seem right:

- It is the title song of the album

- It speaks about the recent most personal event in her life

- It is a beautiful piano-driven balad with meaningful lyrics

- Until Christmas, I think the main aim is to win back the traditional audience of Céline, which is more balad-leaning (especially in the US where her casual buyer seems more conservative)

 

Regarding Imperfections, after the Christmas freeze, as the song seems to have found some love on the AC format, it still have time to slowly climb back the chart in 2020. AC radio have a tendency to play for a long period of time the same songs (sometimes during several months). Hence if this platform likes this specific song, it may have legs during the whole first quarter of 2020, and if successful enough it may cross over to Hot AC in the US, like it seemed to have done already in Canada.

 

This time I have faith in Sony strategy.

 

It may not be of our immediate liking, but since September, Sony has been quite impressive I would say, and doing their job step by step.

After watching the video again, I really have come to love it! It’s really good, simplistic, and lets the light shine, quite literally. I adore the part in the first of the “it’s not eaaaaasy”, where she starts dancing. It’s perfect, and with her silhouette, it is so classic.

Then i could better order a digital copy: no it is nice to have a neat booklet with photos and lyrics. that is what you expect when buying an old fashioned cd. not including these is just stupid. Yes we can find the lyrics online but it is not the same as a printed booklet that you read while listening to the new songs

Today was the official 'Courage' Listening Party in Madrid. It took place at the Sony Music Spain building in Madrid. The interesting thing is that, before the deluxe version of the album album started playing, they showed an exclusive EPK with Céline talking about the songs from the album.

 

It was filmed in last month in Montreal, when Céline gave all those promotional interviews about the World Tour. It will probably be on her VEVO channel this weekend!

The LMBTL album is a bad example to compare to any other release, because it did at first have a concept and direction when it was pitched as "Water and a Flame." Sony apparently didn't like the final product and had the entire direction switched, but they had a deadline to get the album out. They added LMBTL, maybe a couple of other songs last minute and did their best to mix and match and shoved the album out. They had no choice. The album had to be released. It had been postponed more than once. The reason for it's lack of direction and final result was due to multiple postponements, a deadline and the rush to meet that deadline.

 

I think LMBTL will be maybe a treasure album in the future, many things in her perssonal life were not in a best moment, and that is a reflex in the album.

For those of you outside the UK this station has the highest number of listeners in the UK, a mixed audience and is awesome promotion for the album . . Get in! x

I got tickets to the Thanksgiving parade recording, so excited. I'm wondering though if it's a recording with only Celine or if there will be other performers pre-recording the same day. The ticket only mentions Celine though so maybe she'll be performing more than one song?

This goes to show how different tastes are. The idea of including footage of Rene... horribly corny, embarrassing and tasteless. So glad they didn't go down that route and delivered such a beautiful and subtle video instead.

I agree with US and Canada. I am thinking in 50K for UK and 40K in France. Longevity is key though!

I've got to hand it to Sony. Brilliant promo. It's huge ratings. Last year's was the most-watched entertainment event since the Oscars (beating out the Grammys, Emmys, etc).

The album is not even out that I've listened to it more than the two previous ones. It is the longest of her career but it does not seem too long.
