I don't expect all review will praise the album, but sometimes I wonder if some reviewer really takes time to sit and listen to the album.

I'm not surprised of the mixed reviews, that's how I felt when first listening to the album....I like the album but I feel like some of the tracks are pretty boring and don't suit her voice and it lacks the usual big ballads too, she changes her voice on some of the tracks, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't....Out of the 20 tracks I probably really like about 13 tracks, the others I kinda find boring and fillers if I'm honest. But say what you will, it's her most cohesive album in years but classic Celine it is not. I'd give it a 3 out of 5 stars myself

 

Hopefully the song Soul is great.

The album is good, but some reviews say that Celine should take more risks, which I think is true.

 

They also complain about the excess of tracks, seem to have no patience to listen to the whole album, I liked the album, but reaching the end is getting tiring, and some songs do not like.

When people say take risks, what do y’all mean?? I feel like when she does take “risks”, she gets ridiculed and people say “oh why did you try to go out of your comfort zone”...not trying to argue, just want to understand

One thing I hate how is how they critique Céline for doing things that all other pop artists do...sing cheesily about love! That is literally what pop music is about!

 

If you write plainly any lyrics to most top songs, they seem trite and cheesy. Selena Gomez, for example, “I needed to hate you to love me..”

I have high school pupils, and I told them this morning to stream Céline's album tomorrow ahah. They said: "Céline should pay you for all the advertisement you make" (but I can probably lose my job because of that, but they told me they won't tell anybody ahah).

 

On the Facebook group, they said to write #courage everywhere on social media tomorrow. Let's do this!!! I never post on Twitter but tomorrow I will, probably the thing she says in French at the beginning of the video, and sign "Céline Dion". I want that "Céline Dion" and "Courage" are on the top trends of Twitter tomorrow!!!

 

I'm so excited.

 

(By the way, we talked about being hit by a car, I have something similar: an otitis. So yes, I won't be able to listen to the album with my headphones tomorrow and hopefully I did it these 2 past weeks..... )

Although I did enjoyed Courage, Taking Chances is still, for me, her best album post-ANDHC. I love everything in it.

 

Courage have great moments but I just can't with this metallic-robotic-electronic thing going on in her voice. I don't know what that is, but LMBTL is full of it, and Ashes too. It's like she's singing inside of a can.

 

That being said, the album have some amazing songs. "The Chase" is my favorite.

The song kinda reminded me of Reach by Gloria Estefan when I heard it. But then I listened to that song and I found no similarities.
