The only thing we really know is that a vinyl edition is a prize for the Karaoke context her team is throwing. One would assume they’re not just making 10 copies for the contest.

 

It’s not completely rare where LP copies come out after initial release. Maybe they’re holding off for the holiday?

Why black and white again music video

 

Um... because that's what they decided to do?

Practically every artist releases music videos in B&W.

I mean, not to bring Madonna up again, but how many friggin' videos has she done in B&W?

 

Maybe I just don't understand the point of your question? Are you just complaining that it's B&W in general, or is it because it's 2 consecutive?

Please tell me. I want to understand why this is important!!!

Interesting description of “Imperfections” from idolator; saying if the song beloged to anyone else it would be on top of the charts, so not only is fans feel this way.

 

This makes me sad because since day 1 many of us ineed saw the big potential of this one,

and yes, I can only Imagine if anyone of the "hot" singers out there today had sang this song - it will be a big hit.

But we can't say Celine really gives this one a real chance to take it further. It's behind me.

 

As for the Courage video, I won't be surprise if they put LD aside since she struggle with it a bit just like

she struggled singing BMBTL - live. C is a win-win, she sings it very well live, it shows her classic side

but also a more modern flavors on the C parts, though my wish is and I dearly hope they will promote this album

with another single, the more edgy one so it will show her musical evolution.

 

Celine became to be this coolest singer, and I'm highly happy for this

I guess some creativity needs to be taken here in order to translate

this amazing thing into more streamings/exposure, it's possible!

I like when they say the album describes how Céline’s feeling right now. This has always been her strongest point in my opinion: singing about her life and her emotions, happy or sad.

So I guess the strategy is to promote the more classic Celine for now (to entice her fan base)... and it's pretty clear that she will sing Courage on the Jimmy Fallon show.

And this is the best approach! Classic Celine! Ashes music video was partially successful because it showcased classic Celine! When was the last time she released a lead single that was classic Celine? 1997! With Tell Him / Be The Man / The Reason. 1999 and TTWII worked perfectly and she did have some success with certain future singles but this is all. One Heart, Miracle, Taking Chances, Loved Me Back To Life barely count as classic Celine. Was about time they acted smart! People will always love her ballads and Courage - the song - can touch all those who like Celine. I cannot think of another singer who could approach this song like Celine did. The vocals, the phrasing, the diction, the emotions in her voice! This is exactly what makes her stand-out, therefore this is her selling point. Good to see her team finally realizing that. So happy with their decision!

I've mostly tried to avoid spoilers about the songs on the album, so this is the first I've seen of any of the lyrics to the new songs, and goodness, just reading some of these lyric snippets has me nearly in tears. I'll probably be a wreck once I actually listen to Céline singing these songs! What I have most hoped for with this album -- more than chart positions, or collaborations, or certain production styles -- is that this album would really be an authentic representation of Céline at this point in her life, and that the songs would truly provide a meaningful expression of her feelings. Just based on what I've read in the reviews we've seen so far, it certainly seems like she hit the mark in that regard. I cannot wait to hear these songs in a few days.

Not sure what makes you say that. I have gotten the impression almost all fans who've heard the album appreciates it. And almost all fans agree on that the tour setlist needs improvement.

Why does she have to speak French when promoting Eng material. It's not like she speaks English about her FR work -would had loved eng sub titles on her relesead recording session.

 

When translated that's a nice message though! Too bad only French speaking will get it.

She'll probably do C on the shows she's gonna perform on for a while now. And even if that song is nice and touching it's NOT showcasing anything new and not sure it's represntable for the album (which by many seems to be an evolved Céline) and C (the song) will hide that and show a conservative old Céline (and quite frankly boring, sorry). To me this move is several steps backwards now.

 

I'm surprised that they will release the COURAGE video, and I thought if the music had a video it would be a live video.

I don't know what this strategy is from SONY, I was expecting LD and come COURAGE,

Oh, my, god. Those LYRICS! I have been holding off on reading them and skimming right on by, but when I read them I’m shook! Like chills went down my spine. This is THE album I’ve been waiting for for so long. After my own story of betrayal by some of my very own family, I can definitely relate to some of these songs!

Alone was still stronger single material than C... (even though I think releasing A was not a good idea).

 

How is she gonna be able to follow this up in a successful way? All eyes are on Céline now, she can perform any of the new sounding songs from the album and they will embrace it easily (Imperfections??). C as a single will just make them yawn and not be further interested in her new music.... It's gonna be an uphill journey from here.

 

This is an even worse move than LD (also sound old "done that" Céline), which is probably gonna be the next single. I fear the new sounding songs from the album will never reach the broader audience now.... 😯

Man, i miss the world of physical singles. These images would look amazing as a cd single. The day of b-sides, an instrumental, and remixes at long gone.

 

It's true, but some indie artists still do that in the EP format.

I got Jay-Jay Johanson in mind (swedish trip-hop singer), he releases EP for each single with remix and b-sides. And beautiful artwork from the album photoshoot.

And they're ABSOLUTELY right when they write that Imperfections would already top the charts if a younger artists had released it.

In the same time, it's an "adult" song, so....

 

It's nice to have that many music videos! Great move! they finally think out of their comfort zone.

I LOVE that she speaks in French in this snippet. I'm sure there will be eng sub in the official MV. But the tease is great.

Problem is at 4pm I'll be at work... maybe I can change my IP adress to watch it from an earlier time zone...

They really want her back on top (wait... what are they doing for Imperfections, again?).

Courage is indeed too classic Celine for the new sound.

Let's hope she'll alternate the two songs accordingly to the show's audience.

I cant stand it sometimes, at times on Lying Down i hate it but considering the reviews and how much people love the song itself I wont let it get to me until ive heard it myself
