Alice Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:00 PM Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:00 PM I can understand them though. Let s say 14 songs Or let's say 16 + 4 (deluxe) +1 (bonus). Thank you. 2 Quote
marc-02 Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:03 PM Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:03 PM I disagree with that because yeah theoritacally it would be a good idea as a narration thing, but melodically it wouldn't be cohesive at all. Half the album would be sad, dramatic, and slow, and the rest only uptempo happy songs. There needs to be a balance and that swtich of sounds. Do you imagine going to a show that is that unbalanced? Well yes thats the only reason I could see for them to arrange the songs the way they did. They just want to balance the sound of the album melodically and not thematically. Quote
DionFanAlways Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:07 PM Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:07 PM The USA Today review actually said something that had never crossed my mind, that Say Yes is a conversation with herself, which I found really interesting. This is what I get from this song also. I love this song. Top 3. 1 Quote I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

mirage Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:11 PM Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:11 PM So the next album Sony will say, 'see it should have been 12 songs according to the reviews, so let's do 10 from now on' 2 Quote
Nmj Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:12 PM Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:12 PM These reviews better simmer down lol, or else this will be the last time they give us 16-20 songs. 5 Quote
emi&celine Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:13 PM Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:13 PM It seems that those critics who find the album too long actually forget that since the CD had been introduced they have been able to skip any track they want on a record...Do they know streaming is getting a bigger part of music business every year now? I can't understand a comment like "it's too long". Even though they don't like every single on this record (they are not expected to do so either) they should congratulate Céline and her team to offer such a generous piece of brand new material. If they do think the album would have been much better with 10 or 12 songs then nobody prevents them from skipping the 4 or 6 tracks they don't need. Sometimes it feels like someone has to find some negative (or less positive) comment to write...about Céline's work or anyone else's. 6 Quote
isurrender Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:16 PM Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:16 PM Funny how suddenly members on this board care about reviews. LMBTL is her most praised album to date and most of the fans don't like it. Quote

And I love how the reviewers, like us in this forum, have different favorites in the album. Shows the diversity of the appeal of the songs. Quote

I think they hear it because of that specific instrument you hear in the background that is commonly heard in Bond scores, I dont know what THAT instrument is called. Céline RO Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:35 PM Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:35 PM (edited) To clarify what I said about “Perfect Goodbye”: I don’t care if Céline uses the word “s*it”, I use it often and consider it normal. What I don’t want is for the word to be forever stuck in her repertoire as I don’t believe it should have anything to do with music, even though many artists use it. I wouldn’t care that much if the only problem with this song was that word but in this case it’s a combination of multiple things that make me not able to listen to the song. Also, I said I didn’t like Céline singing it. It’s only a horrible song compared to all other Céline songs. I even find myself singing it sometimes...
