20 songs is almost a double album, comparing with other artists albums - 10 songs only

 

with TC we got 18

 

He-He! Same here! And who would have imagined we will get that amount of songs, no covers, no duets thanks God

they are doing it right beyond and above and I feel that the LD clip is coming in short time

Wonder if the Japanese edition will have surprises, but yes happy with what we've got

so far!

 

I think after the album is out, and in case they will create a wise setlist with the good songs

from the new album, ticket sells will go Boom

After a first listen I feel totally...BLOWN AWAY! What an amazing album!

 

Now I'm praying for "Look At Us Now" and/or "The Hard Way" to get a music video, get included in the tour setlist and be sent to AC radios after the good reception of "Imperfections"

Is the album really depressing? Now I'm worried too.

I just need TTWII-like songs right now and not a dark and depressing album.

But I will form my own opinion next week.

 

This album maybe can be accepted by younger generation till mid 40s and for older generation who love Celine since early 70s might find it hard to the new genre....

 

I am not too sure what genre of music this album should fit into but definitely not the MHWGO ballad queen, is a brand new Celine, like I just discover a whole new singer with great album like how public immediately fell in love with Adele when someone like you, rolling in the deep and set fire in the rain emerge in the world, where people went crazy and fell for Celine.

 

Release the album with no Celine face and mention of Celine at all in the digital world... I think this album will go viral as most of the time the name of Celine Dion stopping people to receive her music as most of them were like... Ugh... The old granny of MHWGO still around???

We also tend to get excited about her re-surging popularity. But truth is they think she's cool now, fun, silly, and entertaining. they love her old music and are LOVING her fun, cool crazy style lately.. But they don't pay attention to her MUSIC. That's what matters.

A few words to those who haven't listened to the album yet (I didn't have enough strength), you will have a really pleasant experience, that's for sure. Of course, there is no guarantee that everyone will love everything they find there., but that's normal.

 

For me none of the songs, I repeat: NONE, is boring. There's a lot going on in each of them musically. What Céline does there with her voice is pure virtuosity and magic.

 

If you're looking for "good old Céline", well, there is not much of her, but there is a little bit I personally found there a "good new Céline" or maybe even better then ever, but I do not know that yet.

 

So if you expect great music, well, you will be very positively surprised by the quality and consistency of the material that, in my opinion, deserves at least to be nominated for the Grammy Awards.

 

That's why I warn you, if you are the ones who expect high quality music on this album, then on release day you may not be able to listen to this enough times, so you'd better book your time at night, a lot of time

 

And I noticed that every time the album ends I have the impression like: "But how?? So fast??" And this is not a short album, and I do not use the "skip" function

I’d love that. Lana knows how to produce a song. Her vocals — while not necessarily impressive — always sound so beautiful. She’s a great producer and she’d get the best out of Celine.

Congratulations, my 26 yr old brother sent me a link for the album and he doesn't even listen to her. Clearly it's getting spread around fast. I expect that fans will listen through Spotify and Apple Music and the hardcore fans will buy the album digitally and/or physically. I honestly haven't purchased a new Celine album except the French ones that aren't available in the states, and EUS the vinyl version.

 

Still waiting to listen to it legally!

The album is not depressing at all. Quite the opposite! It is deep, introspective and as soulful as a pop album can be! Celine is telling us that no matter what you have been through, just pull yourself together, stand up, have courage, fight the fight, love yourself and enjoy life! People who find that theme depressing must be uneducated. Sorry for being harsh, but I honestly think one must be lacking basic intellectual skills not to understand the overarching theme of this beautiful album! It is all about empowerment and embracing life - truly uplifting and inspiring! An exemplary record!

Same here. A friend who is not even a fan sent me (and to many others) the link. So it's not only the usual fans who are listening to the leaked album.

I wonder if they will change their promo plan now that there's not that much to promote anymore.

I don’t know this for fact, but I would assume that most record companies would have a Plan B for something leaked albums. They know it’s a possibility for any high-profile album, but especially for an album that has been so highly anticipated for so many years.

I think “Change My Mind” is the best song of the album and that has the most potential as a single hit for people to be introduced to Céline again.

 

After that, I would say the best options are Look At Us Now//The Hard Way for this purpose.

I've just download the album but I'm gonna wait until the weekend so I can listen to it calmly while I drink some wine (first listens are almost like a ritual to me). For now I randomly picked The Chase to listen to and WOW! I'm out of words. It's one of the most beautiful songs she's ever sung. I'm so in love with it. Can't wait to listen to the whole album!

I just noticed that Lil Peep is releasing a posthumous compilation album on Nov. 15th. If older tracks count towards the album's total stream count, I'm a little worried since he's a bigger streamer than Celine. Also, it is being released by Columbia too. Why would they give her competition? Ugh.

I think you guys are over exaggerating how much this has spread... Lets say the amount of people who have listened to the album before its release is 20 000 (and thats a stretch). 70% of those are probably hardcore fans who have or are already going to buy the album anyway. That leaves us with a couple thousand lost sales if the remaining didnt like it.. does it really matter? LMBTL sold 1.7 million, would it be a big deal if it sold 1.698 million instead?

 

And also leaks would only have a small impact on launch sales, it has no effect on the longevity of an album which is what ultimately decides how well it performs

I caved and listened to it - My review. First listen

 

My review after 1 listen(all the new songs)

Flying On My Own - 8.5/10. Love the beat, wish the lyrics were better. Wish we had a little more EDM on the album.

Lovers Never die - 9/10 I love the “smooth” feel this song has(if that makes sense). It takes a couple listens to understand her in the verses I think. It took me 2 or 3 listens to love it, but now I love it!! I love the “no” at the very end.

Falling in love again - 8/10 I really like the verses more than the chorus, it’s weird. But I like it. It’s a nice piano ballad but it’s different than “courage”. It’s got a groove though I think with the piano. I like the lyrics too.

Lying down - 9/10 one of my favs on the album. Powerful vocals, power ballad. Wish there were more like this on the album. Love the instruments and the lead up to the second verse.

Courage - 9/10. Cried the first time I heard this in September. Emotional song. Really like it.

Imperfections - 8.5/10. This one was a grower but I really like it now. Took me a couple listen when it came out to really get into it.

Change my mind - 8/10. I like the instruments in this. It’s kinda got a indie vibe. Love the change my mind end nite and I like the “ooh ooh”

Say yes - 7/10. This ones a grower on me. I don’t know, at first listen it just didn’t capture my attention like “ooh I love it”.. can’t quite figure out why yet.

Nobody’s watching - 9/10 I really like this song. It’s got a cool guitar and cool maraca like beat. I think this one will get stuck in my head. I like the “hey” background in the chorus too.

The chase - 7.5/10 I like the country/pop vibe on this. At first listen though it’s not one of my top favorites, but I’m sure it’ll be a grower. Don’t hate it by no means.

For the lover that I lost - 9/10 I really like this one. Almost teared up. Like the lyrics a lot! Especially the roses past

Baby - 10/10. love this song! Gotta admit it took till second chorus to figure out what she’s singing. Love the beat, the lyrics, everything

I will be stronger - 8/10 I like this. Love the piano/drum beat to it.

How did you get here - 8/10 Soul! I really like it. I like the background vocals with it. Sounds Motown kinda. Love the “tell me” at the end. I hear some “grit” and raspiness in her voice.

Look at us now - 10/10 love this song. Love that clap that’s near the end.

Perfect goodbye 8.5/10. First what Céline says “sh*t”. Wow. Had to take a second listen haha - I really like this one.

Best of all - 7/10. Not one of my favorites. I don’t really love it at all.

Heart of glass - 8/10 this ones good. I like the chorus, don’t quite like the pre chorus (see a need), but I love the bridge

Boundaries - 8/10 not my favorite but I don’t hate it. I don’t like the arraignment right off for some reason. It’ll be a grower I’m sure.

The hard way - 9/10 I really like this song. Uplifting and I like the beat too. Her voice is great too.

Overall I really do like it a lot. Might be my second fav English album behind ANDHC of course. Time will tell with each listen but I really do love it. Great Job Céline!!
