So far I love the snippet of new song from the special event and carpool karaoke. I want the album now, I mean right now.

I think her team is following a very specific strategy with the snippets.

 

During TC / LMBTL era, fans really liked the songs, but there was a problem with the rest of her audience not necessarily identifying them as "Celine songs." They even did that thing with LMBTL where they sent it to radio as a "mystery artist" to see if she would get more plays.

 

Now, they are slowly introducing new music into her catalog by previewing it alongside other songs, so that we start to think of these new songs as "Celine classics."

 

I think this is part of the same strategy as continuing to sing Ashes at every event alongside MHWGO, BYLM, etc. The new songs are like this goldfish they are trying to release into a crowded tank and they are keeping it in its little bag for now until the water temperature is just right.

 

We are so accustomed to Celine's classics that she can release a new song, and people will know it's her new song, but still won't really identify it as a Celine song. So this seems to be the problem her team is tackling with this painfully slow process of leaking small snippets without any context or information. They just want people to hear the songs in the context of her old songs so that when the new songs are released, they think, "Oh yeah, I think I heard that on TV before she sang MHWGO" or something like that ...

 

I have a feeling this also means new songs get premiered at BST *before* any kind of actual single or music video is released. And we might not have even heard the first single until they drop it.

I don't know if this was mentioned but Stephan Moccio is/was in Vegas and attended Céline's show. I wonder if he's there to finalize the songs and/or album. Let's hope so!!

Yeah, I agree .... but it seems like Sony's strategy is quite different.

 

The lesson they took from LMBTL seems to be not that they didn't do enough promo, but rather that fans saw the songs as too different from her classics. So they're going for this slow approach where they get us acclimated to the new music instead of just releasing a new song and hoping it just magically becomes a hit (the old strategy).

yeah, I see. But what must be also considered is that the songs from LMBTL sucked (at least for me), whereas the snippets we got so far sound really current and modern, not like the old Celine trying to be modern, but like a modern Celine that actually is modern!

Well for a summer hit/club banger it does. Watch Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber's song. It was released last week (or the week before) and it will be played everywhere in the summer [even though it was already released in May].

Why? This isn't the '90's anymore where you only release 1 single before an album. These days you can release 10 singles, or a few promo singles or release/perform songs that aren't even singles. IMO "too early" is a stupid reason. You have to release stuff while you're hot and she's hot atm. Like she was last month. She'll be around the last Vegas date, around Hyde Park and when the tour starts (and of course when the album gets released).

I think the problem (from their perspective) with the opinion of most fans on this forum is that they really thought the last two English albums were "modern Celine," and if they promoted it using the old strategy it would gain attention for novelty's sake and someone negate the actual dynamics of the market.

 

So there is probably someone involved in the process who's saying, "Hey guys, let's slow down here ... we already tried this twice and it didn't quite work the way we wanted it to." I'm sure there is a debate about the *right* way to market an updated Celine sound and it's probably one that the more cautious voices are winning.

I don ´t think it´s too early for new single. How it was with LMBTL? Single in september album in novembner and after Christmast everything was over, we didn´t know about album and I don´t think it would be much diffrent if René didn´t has health problems. So now they could do things in diffrent way, why not realising more sinles before album is out? Moreover tour began in September so if it´s "Coruage" world tour I expected that she will sing new songs from new album so it is logical to be songs which are out as singles ... Ideal scenario: First single (FOMO) at the latest in june when Celien show is over with live performance of single during Celine final show as totaly last song of show as begining something new. Second single with tour in septembre and third with album in novembre.

Don't be impatient people, I for once think her team is doing things the right way. They are building momentum. It seems they believe in the material they've got and everyone is aware than Celine's popularity is at a new peak now. I trust we are getting good things and the single is for sure going to be out before the London concert so it's less than two months now. They are just waiting for the right time. Have faith

I don't think it is until she ends Vegas. June 7th would be a good day if they want a summer single. As already discussed radios won't play her much and she is not strong in streaming either so the only way to present the single to the world is doing some tv promo and for that she needs to be done with Vegas.

I don’t think she used green screen that often. Only for Im alive, ANDHC and HYEBIL. For all her other videos she was in the real scenery
