browseceline Posted May 1, 2019 at 06:36 AM Posted May 1, 2019 at 06:36 AM I just want the album to be out already it’s been so long well it seems we will get it in fall this year...Well it better be something fantastic with no dry vocal recordings, good mixing of instruments and voice, Ashes- like powerballads, only great songs. Then i can wait. jpatdeleon09 Posted May 1, 2019 at 07:41 AM Posted May 1, 2019 at 07:41 AM We should repeat this... maybe team céline is secretly reading this forum. "Well it better be something fantastic with no dry vocal recordings, good mixing of instruments and voice, Ashes- like powerballads, only great songs." In short, back to classic Céline (with reverbs, vocals not too forward it should blend with the instrumentals, softer vocals (example I Surrender from A New Day Has Come Album.. I don't know how they do it but they should do it again ) 2 Quote

In short, back to classic Céline (with reverbs, vocals not too forward it should blend with the instrumentals, softer vocals (example I Surrender from A New Day Has Come Album.. I don't know how they do it but they should do it again ) oh yes nowadays they are afraid to use reverb on her voice. But Ashes on the other hand does have quite some reverb on her voice. Yes, back to the old days days please - classic Celine.I have just been listening to a 2019 playlist of nowadays music...itis all so generic, same beats, lots of autotune - exceptions to the rule - imagine dragons . But that aside i really miss her voice being part of the music. When i listen to some tracks of encore un soir it sounds like the backgroundmusic is too soft and Celine is far standing in front of it and missing depth because of too less reverb being used. That, and At Last, are hands down the best tracks on that particular album. Edited May 1, 2019 at 01:34 PM by scielle 2 Quote

ryba Posted May 1, 2019 at 02:06 PM Posted May 1, 2019 at 02:06 PM (edited) From the Elle interview: She’s in the process of recording a new album. “I have about 675 songs, and I want to sing them all!” she told me. :mdr: even Céline is mocking it now I wonder if it ever happended before. I mean, she kind of did it with ANDHC/OH in the past, but she recorded songs for 2 albums. Now she recorded songs for 4 or 5 albums. I wonder why. Do they plan to release them in the upcoming years so that she doesn`t have to go and record? It's kind of strange to make her record songs for 4 albums, they have to pay for studio time, production and everything. So that makes me think that they must have a plan with these songs. I also love the fact that she picked every song because she "loved" it (and not just "liked" it). And I love the fact that she suggested to make a oduble/triple album, but from what she said Sony apparently didn't like this idea, but they are thinking about it. Maybe this time they will really release a double album with upbeat songs on one disc and power ballads on the other disc. That would be like a dream come true! And i think that for a come back album, this is exactly what she should do, a huge album release with a big bang and a big awesome world tour! Edited May 1, 2019 at 02:14 PM by ryba 3 Quote

NB is hardly "just another song". It's one of the masterpieces of 20th century songcraft. And it's expertly executed. And no, not everyone detests covers. I happen to love them, because the songs she chooses to cover are, for the most part, far superior to anything in her own repertoire. 4 Quote

ryba Posted May 1, 2019 at 05:39 PM Posted May 1, 2019 at 05:39 PM (edited) I think that they make her record much more songs than needed so that when she is gone, they can make money with it. Otherwise it doesn’t make any sense. Recording so many songs is too costly to just do it and then choose a few for one new album. Edited May 1, 2019 at 05:39 PM by ryba 1 Quote
