But the problem lies in how current the songs may sound if they wait too long. Things change so fast that maybe something recorded two years ago sounds dated today. How long it's been since she started recording songs for her upcoming album? Things can always be remixed to sound more current. Before she starts collaborating with Spanish speaking artists just to fit in I would prefer for her to use her own "foreigness". Although if she can collab with a Spanish speaking singer while she sings in French that could be interesting as well. Not necessarily even that.First step would be acknowledging her existing French material in the first place. So many of her French videos & EPKs are geo-blocked in the US, and most of her French albums are not available for streaming in the US (and I mean the super-iconic ones, not the early ones from the 80s!) I feel like for years, Team Celine almost intentionally kept that part of her career very separate, almost cloistered, for fear that North American public would ostracize her for being too foreign. Like they were intentionally trying to hide it. And fair enough; in the 90s maybe that made sense - the Anglo audience was pretty allergic to anything non-English. Well, now, the tables are turned. Foreign...exotic...different... these are all good things, and language matters less and less. Anglophone A-listers are making collaborations with foreign language artists at a staggering rate. They are seeking this out! Playlists are about mood, and language is secondary. Especially with streaming, where you can easily discover and sample things from all over the world without making a financial commitment like buying a full album. I think a really interesting thing for her to do would be a collab where she appears in French on a track by some "streaming generation" Anglophone artist. 1 Quote

The same with music videos, for what reason are some of her MVs blocked for example ANDHC video GTSW video or Incredible in germany...? With Vegas ending in June and London being in July they may release the lead single in May. Just how Taking Chances was released just before the first Vegas show ended. Specifically, I think they are waiting on the release of Adele's new album (rumored to be released in the 2019 holiday season). A summer release of a duet single, which would be the lead single for Celine's album but probably just a buzz single for Adele, makes sense in this context. Also, the fact that they have chosen Hyde Park as the venue for the first live performance of the single suggests it has some sort of tie-in to the UK market. Having Celine invite Adele to join her onstage at Hyde Park would be an explosive PR move for both of them and would set the gears in motion for Adele's new album, which could presumably drop "at any moment" between then and the holidays. My question is, if Sony has forced Celine to delay her own album so long because of Adele (and this is still just speculation, but IMHO the only way to explain the delays + sudden Hyde Park announcement), what does this say about their faith in her? Is she merely a pawn in a much bigger promotional game for Adele, their most important and profitable artist? How would we all feel if Celine's "comeback" single ends up being just a promotional single for the next Adele album, even of it cracks the top 10? Don't underestimate Adele's modesty in the face of her idols ... how she apologized to Beyonce for winning best album ... she will do it because it's her childhood dream and she can do whatever she wants at this point in her career. She will do it even if her team says she should wait and drop a surprise single on her own ... she'll say she's doing it and they'll just sit back and figure out how to make it all work for her album 😂 And we'll be the ones laughing in the end ... the Goddess returned to her throne ... number 1 ... haha Quote

Why London? Obviously Celine can book a show anywhere, but we know already that Sony has invested quite a lot of effort (and money) in this album, so how does this fit the brief? Also, if they were pouring this much money into the project for an artist with an admittedly sketchy sales history in the Anglosphere, why would they not be planning an insurance policy? Celine's "cool renaissance" doesn't win her anything in terms of sales per se, but what it does give her is cachet ... the power to merge seamlessly with existing brands and breathe new life into them (a la Deadpool). Deadpool was the test case for what they're planning with Adele IMO, and after that they're going to throw a bunch of other "unexpected collaborations" at us and hope the experiment has legs. If you mean "the deal was finalized a long time ago" then yeah ... but they both have album's coming out in the next year, and one of them (Celine's) keeps getting delayed for mysterious reasons ... and they're signed to the same label so it's worth speculating about. If it was ever going to happen it would be in support of Adele's album, her schedule would dictate everything. So they have an album waiting to go for some mysterious reason and just ... why?
