No, it's not too soon for that either. It's been 2 years since EUS was released, so she could well release a new French album in 2019 if she wanted. Of course we know that just won't happen that soon, but it wouldn't be any illogical to think she could release a new French album after 3 years since the last one

 

However, God knows when that will happen. Taking into account the English album is now looking to a 2019 release, that will postpone everything else coming after. It's a shame how they're overlooking all these details, but if the English album is released in 2019, that means a new French album won't probably arrive until 2021 at the earliest (which means she'll also be taking 5 years between each French album now)

Tbh, TC had a great vision with great consistency a great promo plan and she was everywhere, same with SA and even LMBTL to a fsr smaller extent. But imo EUS was her worst promoted album

It's just so frustrating how little material is actually released, and how seldom.

Sony is sitting on piles of recordings they probably never intend to release.

And they could have made several quality albums in the years they've been talking about releasing this one.

Hard to keep people engaged and interested when all you have to offer is the same 5 songs from 20 years ago.

Maybe we should start a Twitter/social media campaign with a fitting hashtag (and get every Céline fan community to share/post it and target the Sony accounts and try to get some big name Céline supporters to share it too).... like #WhereIsThatAlbumCeline or #NewCelineEnglishAlbum.. Wow, I can't believe it's been too long ago since those 2017 videos, and she was already being asked about the album... It looks as if it had been ages ago!

Was actually being half ironic... while I can understand we wouldn't be getting that album anytime soon, the point is for them to be more honest and open to the fans and give us SOME sort of update. We at least deserve that. A petition is so 2005, but a social media campaign could do the trick (if being done properly and on a big scale).

 

Or we could just sit it all out and wait till 2099..

Can you guys stop blaming Céline for a delayed album (if it really is)? If you knew how record labels worked you would stop blaming her.

I'm sure she thought the album would really be out by now. But with label politics, anything can happen. If Sony is not happy with songs, they will (and did) cancel albums and demand to start over - otherwise they just don't release it. Do you think the artist is happy with such decisions? Even artists have a boss to respond to. So chill.

And I'm not saying it's what's happening with the new album. It's possible. And it's also possible Sony just wants to get it right this time! Fingers crossed.

No way. Celine has enough clout in the music industry and power to be able to do what she wants. She is not some newbie.

Dreaming of the kind of concept albums we could have had by now while her voice is still great:

Jazz/Blues Album

Dance Album

English version of a French album

Country Album - I'm sure she'd do country really well!!

Etc...

 

I do think concept album is the way to go. I am so fed up with all these "buffé albums" with a bunch of incoherent songs smashed togheter calling it an album. Go with one or a couple of sounds - not 12-16 different sounds and styles.

If I were a singer, and I didn't have to prove myself anymore (which she also told many times) I would sing and record whatever I want to.

 

But than again hearing me say it, maybe she really doesn't want to. But she also tells the opposite, so that's frustrates me.

 

If she would say nah I'm good I will do a few tours with my hit songs, and maybe record an album every now and then. I could have peace with it.

 

But saying I love rock, want to do a movie, want to sing my never sang before songs, want to do a show full of covers, I love jazz, I'm sad thinking how D'elles didn't get the life I wanted it to have.

 

And end up with same old songs and 5 years without new music.

Ugh, I know...

I adore the concept behind D'elles, and so wish she would do something like it in English. (And it would play especially well in today's environment!)

 

But I'm afraid what we're going to get is a hodgepodge of disparate things because they'll want to hit every demographic. That's what happens when you release an album every 5+ years. You try to be everything to everybody and ultimately end up with a product that lacks direction and conviction. Odds for a cohesive record are small.

It's frustrating to hear her say 'I want to do this and that' but she doesn't do this and that. Why not? She is saying it herself, no one is misquoting her and she can't use the excuse of lost in translation.
