And that's how Céline's forum becomes Mariah Carey's forum (because of the absolute silence and lack of news of course) :cursing: :cursing: :cursing:  :cry1:

They must atleast know what the first two singles are gonna be, so they should atleast film two music videos between now and her return to Vegas.

Im all for her having a rest and family time and I know she’s been ill earlier this year but this is now and she really needs to start stepping it up a few gears for the beginning of 2019 as for me, apart from the Ashes hype in May this has been a pretty boring Celine year!!

She has the luxury to work a hell of a lot less hours then normal people, gets paid a hell of a lot more and has a lot of help with everything she does, so for me she’s had a month off now, time to get back to work!!!

I’m sure Carrie will have two new albums before Celine’s team gets a clue, and that’s IF there is a “team”, she’s the only person at legend status that I can think of without a manager.

yeah, she definitely needs a good manager, because this whole thing is just a mess really...

The Ashes time was bombastic but only because the Deadpool people were promoting the crap out of it in the best creative way possible. And that’s the team and promotion Celine should have!!!!!

Celine / Rene left it far too long between "Taking Chances" and "Loved Me Back To Life" and found that when she returned to releasing English albums in 2013 that the market had changed even more and that the general audience didn't really like the new sound of the album. You know they misjudged the market when you see them trying to sell the album on QVC!!

It worries me that they have now left it at least 5 more years to release the next English album so even more of the casual fans will have lost interest and we know Celine's not strong at streaming / digital downloads and that's the way the market has gone even more in the past 5 years.

I worry that the weak sales of "The Show Must Go On", "Recovering", "How Does A Moment Last Forever" and "Ashes" has made them have serious reservations about releasing a new album.

In short, they are worried about a flop. The irony being the longer they leave it the more chance there is it'll happen!

I'm worry about a flop too. She needs stronger songs than "The Show Must Go On", "Recovering", "How Does A Moment Last Forever" and "Ashes".

And she is 50 now and streaming is not her strength (unlike Madonna or Mariah, who are strong in streaming).

It's not that difficult to manipulate charts though. Sony needs to do for Celine is get a radio deal for her single, make a deal with Spotify and apple music for ads/ placement in different play lists and putting her on covers. radio and streaming services have a huge influence and they're not even making an effort on that part Edited by alexceline

The worst thing is this passiveness. At least do something, release something, not necessarily the new album but something else, you have enough stuff to release!

Mariah has been with Epic/Sony since 2015,when she released the greatest hits album #1 To Infinity, to promote her show in Vegas. Every release (singles) since then had been under Epic label. Last year she created a label of her own with her ex manager, but it's still under Epic and Sony Music.

Aaah ok. I forgot about that compilation. The last thing I remember her releasing was “Me, I am Mariah...The Elusive Chanteuse” on DefJam. Thanks for the clarification.

it is hard to sell digital stuff while people can have unlimited songs by 10€ per month at streaming channels like spotify or deezer

basically no one sells anything, is again a new era,

only stream works

I agree with you when you say that they need to pay more atention to streaming and be aware of the way music industry works today, and that part is what Team Céline lacks so far.

But on the other hand, I don't think they're afraid of the album being a flop. They know (and I'm also sure), that at least she will be able to sell 1M/1.5M with the album, because people still buy Céline's albums, and that number, considering how low the sales are now, is not bad at all. So flop factor I think, is not the reason for the "delay" (we don't know yet).

What I can guess it's happening are three things:

1. Céline's ear surgery affected the recordings, so they have to finish it now that she is "free".

2. She's not in a hurry, and what worries me the most, it's not even near to being finished, and they don't really care if it's out this year or next, as long as they're satisfied with the result.

3. All this silence means they're keeping it secret until near it's release, or they're still waiting to define her future in Vegas, in order to promote it better with a tour in the US, so they're pushing the release for next year.

So, in conclusion, the "flop factor" posibility is not the reason here, and as I mentioned before, they know it well sell at least 1 million, and that's the reason why they never invest much in promotion, they are satisfied with that moderate succes, and don't feel like doing anything else.

Also, as many of you mentioned before, I think she really needs a new manager (not two co-managers, that are there not as proper managers, but because Céline trusts them to "run the bussiness" for a while), someone who understands how the industry works nowadays. Aldo did many good things to her career and you can clearly see now that after he left, she's stopped attending big events or making some "buzz", appart from her social media last tour. It makes me think that there's no one in her team in charge of that kind of things anymore, and that Dave Platel and Denis Savage are there only to take care of her "money/bussiness" and nothing more, and that's not the only thing managers are supposed to do.

Question:

Other than Celine herself, who is currently on Celine’s team?

The year we got Aldo she was on TV every 3 months with some big event.

Think he said that in one of his first interviews, that he needs to keep her in the eye of the public.

Maybe she doesn't want to attend all these things, and she just shows up once in while.

But I agree, she needs a manager who knows how the music industry works now and has some fresh new ideas.

Dave Platel would be a great candidate for Manager of Céline since He’s been part of the team since 90’s

Omg he is, and that's exactly the reason why he should not be part of it.

Dave Platel is NOT in the role of manager. Yes returned as part of the team after Aldo left but he’s more of an advisor and I think possibly a finance expert for Céline. However Céline is still without a manager at least formally.

I just really want to know why Aldo left so quick, everything seemed so bright and optimistic when he was involved, we know Céline probably paid him well, unless maybe not because she NEVER had to pay her husband and if she did in the end it was left to her children.

Anyways, I don’t buy the whole story of Aldo leaving to focus on family... he knew what he signed for and a year later he leaves... something personal must have happened.

I hope she finds a new young manager with the times but if she must Setlle for a more old fashioned person or not have anyone at all, it would be better to get someone who she feels a René like manager style.... i personally think Emilio Estefan would be great and be better than nobody, that’s if he’s looking to manage 2 divas!

Who knows, but they defiantly need someone at the helm.
